Fight with the Beast

I keep watching the crown prince as he sleeps. I kept this revenge in my all these years but now feel pity for him.

He is different from the Prince I imagine. He has been suffering from the Kim family too and seeing how he fought for his stay here and how he wants our help desperately because of the people, I was moved.

Maybe he is different from his father who sacrifices all his loyal subjects to the Kim family's wicked hands.

I was lost in thought when He opened his eyes gradually.

"Yi San POV**

I felt pain all over me as I tried to move on the bed I was lying on.

"Kang Yun", I managed to say.

"your bodyguard is safe", I heard the Leader's voice and looked into her eyes. I froze so minutes.

"you can see him when you like, I see you two have a lot to catch up on", she said as she stood up and moved out with her guards.

I wanted to stand up but it seemed impossible as I felt sharp pain everywhere, maybe it was the paralysis drug. I close my eyes again and sleep off.

"Your Highness, your Highness", Kang Yun calls out. Hearing Kang Yun's voice, I opened my eyes gradually.

He helped me up as I sat down properly.

"We need to leave here at once", he suggests.

"where will we go too we need this person for our mission", I answered him

"they poison you, your highness, I will come back with the royal guards to attack here", he said furiously.

"you won't do that, my father and I made them like this, we will make them trust and fight for us again", I explained.

"my father sacrificed their families to save himself or me and most of them can't return to the nation for now without being killed by the Kim family", I explained further.

"did you see the former royal secretary here? ", I asked him.

"yes, he was reported dead to the king, I was there", he answered me.

"yes and he is safe and sound here, you know they accuse him falsely but who will save them? My father couldn't ", I said sadly.

"We can't always save everyone, your Highness, that doesn't allowttheiract towards you ", he fought back.

"my father let them down one way or the other and they lost their family, so it is understandable if some of them want me dead", I paused for a minute And continued.

"I will lead them and fight for them until we don't need to fight anymore and that is when we get rid of the Kim family ", I swear.

"How are we going to do that, they have a leader and he hates you", Kang Yun said.

"yes, but she is looking at me differently now, we need something to make the whole village trust us", I answered him.

"tell me what happened on the last mission", I request.

"yes, how did you escape from the General Army alive, a message was sent to the Kim family to announce you dead, Your Highness", he answered.

"Rang Min heard them discussing and told me instantly so we escaped and he brought me here", I told him.

"How could you trust him, your highness? What if he is working with them? ", he asked concerned.

"Well thank God he is not working for them. Tell me about your story", I command him.

"nothing happened, I noticed I was being followed so I set an ambush for their spy and killed him, I saved the soldier's family too, and took them to safety before returning to you. I heard the news from the spy about the plan to look for you so I rushed back, your highness", he confessed.

"what about your family, are they safe", I asked.

"yes Your Highness, I took them to safety", he said

"Thank goodness, I heard otherwise, I am relieved now", I said gladly.

"what about my family your Highness", Rang Min said as he entered.

"I saved them, nothing to worry about, let talk outside and let his highness rest", Kang Yun said to him immediately.

He dragged him outside, and he acted suspiciously but I had a lot going on so I brushed it off.

**Kang Yun POV**

"Why did you lie about your family being saved? ", Rang Min asked.

"he has a lot going on too, I can't stop him from using me for his mission if he knew he would hate himself and that won't help us", I explained

"you are a loyal one, even after losing almost all your family members for him you still care for him", he said to Kang Yun

"he is my master, and thank you for saving him from the enemy camp, if not for you I would have taken my life too", I said to him thankfully.

"he will become a good king, I think that is why", Rang Min said.

"We must help him together", Kang Yun pleaded.

"A great bear is in the forest killing our people here and because of it we couldn't go to do our business again", Rang Min explained.

"what business didn't they do here ", I asked.

"We brought in copper from China and sold it to the people, the people here brought in copper as much as the Kim family but the supply is low nowadays because of this ferocious beast", he explains.

"If we can kill this beast, they will trust us more because their life depends on their business?", I asked him.

"yes, if we manage to bring in its dead body and not end up dead in the forest", he answered.

"I fought on the border since a kid, we kill many bears, I know a lot about them, and I know how to make the traps that can hold them, we will go tomorrow at dawn, that's is when they hunt", I said to him.

"I hope we succeed or else his highness will be alone", Rang Min said.

"we will, I will make sure of it, don't let his highness know of this, he will want to join and it's too dangerous", I warmed Rang Min.

"I am no fool, I know this much ", he answered back and headed to his tenth.

I stood guard outside my master tenth until dawn.

Rang Min joined me at dawn and we headed to the forest, we followed its foot track down into a cave, and we could hear its breath as it slept. We go back outside.

"will dig a deep hole that can swallow him up there and cover with bushes ", I said and pointed ahead beside a tree.

As Rang Min was digging the hole, I got some straight branches and made a spear out of it. Both long and short ones. But the short one was too much.

"what will you do with so many short spears like a peg", Rang Min asked.

He will plant it inside the hole upright so when the boar falls into it, It will die immediately", I explained.

"what if it didn't head towards the hole", I asked.

"then we are dead because we are the bait so we must make it happen", he said not bothered.

"let's go wake the sleeping beast, you will run inside and make so much noise that will wake him up then I will be outside waiting to join", he ordered me.

He obeyed me blindly, not knowing he would be the only bait while I waited on a tree to jump on the beast with the spear if our plan failed.

"When you reach the hole, jump over it, so you won't fall inside too", I remind him.

He looked back and nodded in confirmation.

I find a tree close to the hole and hide on it holding two long spears ready to attack it.

Waiting patiently, I heard a big noise not long and Rang Min ran outside looking left and right, searching for me I think.

"where are you bastard", he screamed.

"Run towards the hole you fool", I screamed back at him.

He looks shocked as if he just remembered and heads toward the hole. He ran and jumped over it, and the bear followed and jumped over it too.

My greatest fear comes true.

Rang Min didn't know what to do again and ran towards the town. He must not allow this beast into the town or they will have our head.

I jump on the tree close by and another one, and another one. Getting closer to the beast, I jump on the beast targeting it's neck and head, and Pierce it with the two spear with all my power. It fell with a great noise as I rolled down with it.

Everywhere was silent for some minutes.

"Kang Yun we did it, Kang Yun", Rang Min's voice brought me back to consciousness as he slapped my cheeks.

I rushed and stood up, checking the beast's dead body lying down, he was right.

"We did it. I kill my first bear", I screamed with happiness.

"you mean we did it because I was the bait you set up for it", He reminded me.

"if I told you all the truth, you won't do it", I find an excuse.

"you should have tried me first, I am brave too as you can see", he said pointing to the dead bear.

"I kill it", I remind him.

"we did", he said and we both laughed.

"Now let's cut off its head and head back to the village",I said with a smile.
