struggle is bridal
We are not here to play, to dream, to drift, we have hard work to’do, and loads to lift, shun not the struggle, “Tis god’s gift.”
Struggle is the law of life, both in the world of nature as well as man. Some people do not take life seriously. They do not try to understand its meaning and purpose. They regard this world as a huge lotus-land and want to luxuriate like lotus eaters. But life is not to play, to dream, and to drift. We are not to dream away its precious moments. It is a regular bed of thorns and we have to perform the duties assigned to us, duties to our family, to our neighbours, to our country, to the human race, and last, but not least to God who ‘made in us in his own image. All this entails hard work which is the breath of our being. The poet has well said.

Imagine a world peopled with idlers! All that we see in these world-beautiful towns and cities, rich, fertile field, massive buildings-, they are all the result of work, endless work. It is difficult to contemplate what would happen if all became shirkers. In work lies hope, betterment, salvation, Idleness is the greatest curse that could befall humanity.
Man is born to struggle, ‘By the sweat of thy brow shall thou earn thy bread’, God said to Adam on his fall from heaven. It is the law of our being, the living principle that carries men and nations onwards. All that is great in man comes through work, and civilisation is its product. In all walks of life-social, economic, political struggle is present.
When you’re really struggling it can sometimes seem almost impossible that you’ll ever feel good again. The truth is, life is hard for everyone (and I mean EVERYONE) and you’re not alone in your struggles.
