It was better for her to be treated by Doctor Henry, who was the personal doctor for him and most of the wolves.
Inside the car, Alex did everything he could to calm himself. He was scared for Malia, and the wolf in him wanted to take control so he could just run to the hospital. But, it would be faster considering there was traffic and all the lights.
"Why are you stopping? Can't you tell that we are in a hurry? If anything happens to her, I will you and your entire family."
"Sir, it's the traffic light," Came the driver's response. He didn't want to anger his boss, but the law was the law.
"Just continue; I will deal with them later." Instructed Alex. He was not a patient man per se, and he wasn't going to start now. It wasn't like anyone had the guts to cross him in the way.
And just like that, the car went on without stopping till the big white building.
Because Daniel had reported to Doctor Henry earlier, Alex found a team waiting for them and the underground packing. He, however, refused to hand his mate to anyone and decided to carry her inside. She lay unconscious in his arms, and it was not a beautiful feeling.
All the times she was in his arms, they were not happy moments because she was either having a bad dream and he held her or now when she is unconscious. He was scared that she would be in pain with whatever was happening to her.
When he went ahead with her, he left the team of nurses behind, but Doctor Henry was waiting inside. After he was placed on the bed as directed by the doctor, Alex was ushered out.
"I can't take it if I am out and she is in here alone" He was trying to reason with doctor Henry who wanted him out of the room.
"She will not be alone; I will be in here with her....." doctor Henry was cut off with a growl from Alex. "and the nurses, of course. Come down, Alpha"
Doctor Henry could tell who the girl lying in bed was to Alex just by how he acted. He knew wolves to be territorial with their mates.
"Alpha, you are wasting time; let him check on her first" Amber wasn't like how Alex was wasting time; something could go wrong with Malia because it was already an hour since she fainted. She was crying and angry at the same.
Alex looked at her with a warning. He didn't like how she spoke to him, but what she said was right. So he moved out, which was good for doctor Henry, so he looked at Amber gratefully.
Even with the door closed, Alex stood close to it as if he could watch what was happening inside. Then, lost in thoughts, he started questioning how someone fine on Monday could be this week. No one else could give him the answers he wanted but Amber, with whom Amber works and lives.
"What happened to her?" Came his cold voice. Between the three people sitting opposite him, the two men knew to whom the question was being directed, so they turned and looked at Amber.
Even with the hiccuping that resulted from crying a lot, Amber knew that she had to answer. So she sipped the water bottle she held to calm herself down.
"I think it is because of the exhaustion from the three consecutive days that we were punished for carrying the garbage out of the restaurant from morning to evening. It rained on Tuesday, and we were not allowed to stop because the restaurant was busy. I could have helped, but the boss was monitoring us endlessly." Malia stopped to take another sip of water
The mood had dropped so low to a chilly one. Alex was so angry. He thought they were punished only that one time; he didn't know that the girl did that for three days straight and even in the rain. His mate's body wasn't healthy because of all the bones he could feel at that time.
"She was dizzy this morning and almost fainted after coming from the bathroom. I tried talking her out of work, but she wouldn't listen. Instead, she feard that Mr. Harold would fire her if she missed work again. Malia is always talking about saving and not burdening me. She feels bad Daniel had to leave his apartment to accommodate her," Continued Amber. It was better for her to lay it all before Alex so he could act fast and protect his mate.
Alex felt ashamed; he had so much money. How could his mate be suffering like that? He was oblivious? He doesn't know how he will do it, but Malia will live with him after she leaves the hospital.
