Chapter 27- Invisible Enemy, Deep Wish

After exchanging knowledge between the Dragons, Zagreus, seeing the sun setting, decides to return to the Village, hunger had increased and he needed to rest.

As he walked slowly, he thought about his relationship with Alduin, since in these three days the two could already be considered good friends due to the fact that they were both Dragons or could even be considered as an Owner and his Pet since at times Alduin seemed to be a kind of dog that he likes a lot when Zagreus caressed his head.

When Zagreus arrives in the village, he ends up noticing that his friends are in the tower, doing a kind of Barbecue and that the chicken has just been put to roast while Gobber tells some of his stories.

And such stories yielded so much that the chicken was ready and Gobber still spoke of his misadventures involving from Dragons and his personal life in a romantic way.

"And with a twist, he took my hand and swallowed it whole. And I saw the expression on his face: I was delicious. He must have told the other Dragons, because it wasn't a month before another one took my leg. "

Said the Blacksmith as he showed off his left leg and right hand prostheses, meanwhile the teenagers ate quietly listening to the voice of Gobber's wisdom and experience.

"Isn't it weird to think your hand was inside a dragon? As if your mind was still in control of it, you could have killed the dragon inside…crushing its heart or something."

Fishlegs commented to himself on yet another of his crazy theories, but no one cared what he was saying as they were mostly paying attention to Gobber.

"I swear, I'm so angry right now! I'm going to avenge your beautiful hand and your beautiful foot. And from today I'm going to cut off the legs of all the dragons I fight. And with my teeth!"

Said Snotlout with a show of renewed courage after the earlier mistake, he wants to win the love of Astrid who he sees as worthy of him and all this macho way he demonstrates is to get women's attention and be a Viking/Man of the the way his father had taught him, but as he looked at her, he realized that the expressionless Astrid was holding back a laugh as Zagreus whispered something in her ear.

He is sad to see this and is starting to wonder if he should give up trying anything with Astrid since the way the situation was going, Zagreus and Astrid were going to be together and there is nothing he can do to change that.

He may be a bit of an idiot but he can sense the atmosphere between the two of them and as his interest in Astrid is just that, an interest, maybe not worth it.

With that thought in mind, he stays Snotlout for the rest of dinner as he tries to distract himself by listening to Gobber talk.

"Un-unh. It's the wings and tails you really want. If you can't fly, you can't run away. A fallen dragon is a dead dragon."

Gobber finishes saying and yawns. he gets up from his chair and says.

"All right. I'm going to bed, you should be too and tomorrow we'll reach the big boys! Slowly but safely, making our way to the Monstrous Nightmare! But who will gain the honor of killing him?"

Gobber finishes saying and starts down the stairs to his house, to his delicious bed for his well-deserved rest.

"It will be me! This is my destiny. See?"

Says Tuffnut while pointing to a miniature Monstrous Nightmare tattoo on his left arm.

"Did your mom let you get a tattoo?"

"It's not a tattoo. It's a birthmark."

Fishlegs not believing Tuffnut asks the only person who could really prove the truth about this, Ruffnut.

"Hey, Ruffnut! .... Ruffnut!"

But even after calling twice she didn't move or stop what she was doing, she was talking very softly with Hiccup while squeezing her growing biceps, which due to Zagreus' arrival along with her teen hormone flare-up provided a fair amount of muscle. , it's not something to notice that much difference but for the frail Hiccup it's the difference between heaven and earth.

"Ruffnut, can you stop flirting with him please? We're talking here and Fishlegs called you twice and you didn't even call."

Ruffnut calmly looks at his twin brother as he continues to squeeze Hiccup's arm, and says in a bored and tired voice.

"Okay, I've been stuck with you since birth, give me a break. See if you get a girlfriend or something."

"If I want to get a girlfriend, I do it, it's just that I haven't found anyone who could hold all the glory of myself."

While Tuffnut and Ruffnut start another argument for no reason, Fishlegs and Hiccup look at each other and sigh in exasperation and by now even used to the Gemini's antics.

Zagreus and Astrid were in their own personal little world, whoever was watching from the outside would look like a young couple talking but it was simply Zagreus being as much of a clown as possible to make Astrid laugh.

They stayed talking and arguing for a few more hours until sleep came and they would decide to go home and rest for practice the next day.

The Demigod accompanies Astrid to her house as the two talk about the difference between their lives, each other's weapons of choice, until they arrive at her doorstep.

"Thanks for accompanying me Zagreus, and try not to die tomorrow, okay?"

"I'll be careful, and you should be careful too, I'd hate to see you get hurt."

"Heheh, even if I got hurt, I would have you there to heal me wouldn't you!"

She finishes saying with a smile on her face and quickly enters the house so that he doesn't notice the slight blush on her cheeks, Zagreus smiles with the shyness of the blonde and walks towards Gobber's house.

And looking out the window at Zagrues' broad back was Astrid with a happy expression and a smile that hinted at passion.

Forge (Gobber House), Next Day

Zagreus, Gobber and Hiccup were awake early, Hiccup worked with his little or big inventions to help him fight Dragons, Gobber fixed crooked and melted weapons while Zagreus watched and learned.

But a small idea, almost an enlightenment occurred with Zagreus.

'Why not use my flames of hell or even the flames of life to melt the Dark Iron and make my weapons? Either one is much hotter than the normal flame.'

This idea kept hanging in his head and he planned and wondered how he should do it, he didn't even feel the time pass and Gobber again had to stop him.

"Come on Zagreus, it's good for today, we have training and I don't want you tired to the point of using this as an excuse."

With a hearty laugh Gobber told Zagreus, it looked like the Viking Blacksmith was really becoming a father figure, he taught him, fed him, made room for him, and still treated him Viking-style fondly of course.

Even though Zagreus doesn't realize it, the lack of a Father or father figure has affected him and now with Gobber having a presence in his life this empty space is slowly filling up.

The three walked slowly to the Arena, and there at the entrance the rest of the teenagers were waiting for him, and like us previous days, Gobber waited for the young people to get ready to start talking.

"Today you will face one of the most mysterious of Dragons, you will need to work your other senses in this fight, as your vision will be useless against an enemy that is camouflaged."

Gobber finishes saying and pulls the lever to open the cell, that when it was completely open, inside there was nothing.

"You are facing a Changewing, be careful they are very good at hiding, today you will learn the importance of your senses."

Even Gobber had his insecurities about this Dragon as it's really hard to find him with his near-perfect camouflage, but he trusts that things would work out and at the slightest sign of trouble he would be inside the Arena to stop the few people who stayed there and kept silent so as not to harm the young people.

The Arena was covered in moss and large tree trunks and rocks, it looked like they were engaged in simulating a forest for Training.

The teams were divided in the Arena and the teams were: Astrid and Zagreus, Hiccup and Ruffnut, Snotlout was alone while Fishlegs and Tuffnut made the last pair.

Astrid even though she had her feelings for Zagreus, remained focused on Training, for her it was so much more important because of her upbringing, the battle her mother and father fight would be hers and she would not dishonor her family.

(Comment here or in the Comments itself, what do you think about Astrid's parents being alive and there being a Chap about Zagreus giving the dowry in exchange for Astrid's hand or something like that, let me know your opinions.)

Zagreus even though he was a prankster, he knew he had a time and a place for everything, and that focus and his decisive way of acting was one of the traits that both Tigress and Astrid as Warriors appreciated in a man.

The pair were focused and paying close attention to all the details and likely inconsistencies in order to locate the Dragon.

Hiccup, being the shy boy ever, didn't think Ruffnut's attitude of wanting to be close to him meant anything, but he was still happy that his passion wanted to be with him. And at the moment he was paying attention and thinking up theories to ease his task of finding the Dragon.

Ruffnut who never hid what she felt was relaxed but equally focused on finding the Dragon as this particular species gushed acid and no woman would want to have acid thrown in her face.

About Hiccup, she never hid her interest in him which only increased each time she talked and found out more about the boy, she thought she would fall in love with someone physically strong and very manly, but seeing Hiccup that even knowing his obvious limitations still jumping over the danger to save her, it stirred her to know that someone exceeded their own limits for her.

And there was no way she could not notice the way he was looking at her, but unlike the looks boys like Snotlout or Fishlegs gave her, Hiccup looked at her with admiration and a great affection that made her feel appreciated and loved.

Returning to Training, the fight went on in a silent and quiet way, there was no sign of the Dragon anywhere.

Until Hiccup looks at a certain spot and with his vision and perception above average, he was able to identify movements in a stone but before he could say anything or even do anything, a pair of orange eyes stared at him deep in his eyes. eyes and he heard a soft voice in his mind telling him: Do what more you wish!

And with his eyes slightly glazed over, Hiccup approaches Ruffnut who was in a corner of the Arena next to him, the girl noticing Hiccup's approach towards her, smiles and whispers to him.

"What's up, Hiccup? You found something....."

But she is soon interrupted by Hiccup's lips glued to hers, she widens her eyes and stares into Hiccup's green eyes and melts into the kiss, soon the two youngs are focused on a passionate French kiss.

Gobber gapes in shock to see Hiccup act that way, even Snotlout had to pay respect to Hiccup for his courage at this point. And the battle is soon over due to Zagreus' high awareness and his combination with Astrid.

Soon the two of them tie the Dragon's mouth and wings together quickly, Zagreus strikes the head of the struggling Dragon and he passes out, and then the mesmerizing effect of the Dragon wears off and Hiccup who wasn't caring about anything but the soft lips of Ruffnut, then pulls away and looks at her face expecting a slap or anger from the girl.

But what surprised him is that Ruffnut was smiling, he didn't have time to think too much as she quickly pulls him to kiss her again and they both fall, this time Hiccup is the one who is surprised what to say about the rest of the people in the Arena , and once again Snotlout's respect for Hiccup grows and he almost wants to kneel down for advice, almost.

Zagreus laughs at the situation and looks into the eyes of Astrid who was staring at his lips as if imagining something and noticing that he was now looking towards her she looks away in shame and thinks.

'I... want to kiss him, but we've only known each other for a while, I can't be rushed even though those lips look so.... ASTRID, what are you thinking!'

If it were possible, smoke would be coming out of her ears she was so embarrassed at the moment.

"Hey, let's stop all this here, this is Pratice Hiccup , I don't accept you doing this in the middle of the fight, I don't care what you're doing outside but here you have to concentrate, Ok?"

Gobber separates the two and grabs Hiccup by the back of the head, the voice in which the Blacksmith spoke to Hiccup was as serious as a father scolding a son but even he wanted to disguise the pride he was feeling for the boy was still palpable.

Zagreus helps Gobber trap the Dragon in his cell and due to finishing his blacksmithing duty in the morning he has the rest of the day off and he goes straight to the forest as he is eager to test something about his powers, and Astrid noticing hers. output follows him quickly.

(Author's Note) Yo, how are my friends? On this beautiful Wednesday morning, my day is good and here's another chapter, I made it to chapter 30 and that for me is impressive, my writing has improved a lot and I never imagined I would get this far in my own story, I stay glad you guys follow and like my book so far.
