Before the sun set, Yuki excitedly brought Shouko to the ranch at the backyard once their group of four arrived home. Kyoya could only begrudgingly follow them from behind while Ryota laughed at his cousin's misery.
Uncle Tetsuya and Aunt Amaya prepared a hot pot for them that night. They ate in the garden, under the faintly twinkling stars. The sound of them chatting and laughing got carried away by the wind.
All of them went to bed before midnight approached. They had to wake up early for the festival tomorrow so after making sure everything had been packed properly, Yuki urged Shouko and Kyoya to quickly go to sleep.
Maybe it was due to her excitement, Shouko could only stare at the ceiling above instead of closing her eyes to sleep.
"Why are you not sleeping yet, love?" Kyoya's low voice echoed from her side. His tone carried a hint of fatigue.
