chapter 3- is it her?

Edith's point of view

Everything felt light and warm, I smelt the flower smell again. I saw the girl she was smiling in her sleep and looked so damn cute then everything felt like it was falling. The warm bed began crumbling and she drifted away and disappeared as everything turned black.

I awoke to a feeling of dread however i don't know why possibly my dream was bad? Not knowing the answer I got up and got dressed in a grey sweater and some jeans then I left my room for breakfast. My dad already left for work and like usual he didn't leave any breakfast, mom didn't have work so she was probably still sleeping. grabbing an apple I began eating till I glanced at the time, I had an hour and a half till I had to leave so I wrote a note to Alex.

"Yo, I'm headed to Tim Hortons to grab a coffee. Don't worry ill bring you and mom a donut!-love Edith"

After grabbing my wallet and sunglasses I headed off to the Tim Hortons, it was only a fifteen-minute drive and the roads were light for once. I parked the car and hopped out along with my wallet, the atmosphere was nice in the Tim Hortons it felt comfortable. I walked across the room to the small line where I looked at the donuts in the display case, I decided that I would get a box of donuts rather than a singular so that I could save the extras for supper. The line was getting quite short and I decided last minute for an iced coffee instead, they just taste better on hot days. The person in front of me left with their coffee and it was finally my turn, I had been confident a minute ago but now the anxiety was kicking in. I walked up and with a slight shake in my voice and now visibly very uncomfortable looking I asked for an iced coffee and a box of donuts. "What donuts do you want?" The cashier asked me with an annoyed look, " oh um this one, this one and this one here please," I replied nervously as she put the ones pointed at in the box. I paid the casher the expected amount then walked over to the pick up to wait for my coffee, a minute or so for my coffee was done and I left with my donuts and coffee.

Once home I called for Alex who didn't reply sighing I walked up the stairs to knock on his door. "Alex! Get up I got a surprise," I could hear him get up and groan about the fact that he had school and he couldn't sleep all day. "I'll meet ya downstairs, okie? His reply of confirmation couldn't be heard from the stairs but the padding of his feet walking around hurriedly indicated that he was at least interested on find out what surprise I had.

"Donuts!" Alex said excitedly as he entered the room, gosh he could act like a little kid sometimes! Alex is only a year younger than me and we get along really well surprisingly, we used to fight a lot when we were young but now there's nothing to fight over. "Got em this morning!" Glancing at the clock "shoot...we have five minutes to get to school so you better get to the car okay?" Grabbing a Boston cream donut and my backpack from the kitchen. The keys were in my pocket still from this morning so I was all prepped and Alex came a minute later running to the passenger seat. " okay let's go!" I said with lots of optimism and confidence if only I could be this confident all the time.

Getting out of the car Alex and I quickly grabbed our stuff and walked as fast as we could to our homerooms. Walking quickly I bumped into someone, after falling I opened my eyes a bit more calm knowing I was safe on the ground; looking up I saw her. The girl I woke up to the party! Oh goodness, I can feel my face burn bright thinking about the other night and grabbed my stuff quickly saying a quick sorry as I ran to my class hoping she didn't recognize me.

The first two classes were full of me being jumpy and hoping the teacher didn't ask a question, lunch felt hours away but now it was finally here. Grabbing stuff from my locker and avoiding the attention of others was easy however once I got to the lunchroom i noticed Alex was in a small group of people, I hate when there's a group but Alex's friends are usually nice. Walking up to the table I sat down close but not too close. I looked at the friends and noticed She was with the group, grabbing my phone I texted Alex saying I forgot something in my locker and to eat without me. Getting up silently I looked at the group and hopped Alex wouldn't look my direction after reading my text. She looked at me...She looked at me! Now what?! What do I do now, does she remember? "Hey again," she said with a sweet smile. My mind is going a mile a minute, the group looked at me as I panicked "h-hello...".
