Chapter 14: A small spar

Back to the Earth…..

Ryan was completely oblivious to the things happening in the vast Universe. It's not like he is some sort of a God to know everything happening in the cosmos.

Still, deep within his soul, he believed that he would know this in the future and he would be the center of all these. But, his soul didn't allow this thought to get into his mind and let him be conscious about it. Hence, this will stay well hidden until the time comes…

Currently, it was another beautiful day on Earth. The sun shined brightly and the birds chirped while sitting on the branches of tall trees.

Ryan was talking with Sarah and his parents to know more about the world and the Mech Association. They told him about the spar formation in MA and the anti-death formation otherwise known as an immortal formation.

This formation was present in all the branches of MA. It was found in the 'sacred places' and humans learned to make formations from the ancient texts found there. People who studied formations and made them were known as formation masters.

Formation masters were a group of people who were highly respected in society. Every rich house had a formation wing under them to make anti-theft and other kinds of formations.

Let's leave the formation story for another day and get back to the present. Let's see what our Ryan is doing….

Ryan went to the MA and registered for the spars. The lady asked for his ID which he gave within a fraction of a second. After the ID was linked with the spar servers, he was told to wait until called.

"Sarah, will the immortal formation really prevent death? What will happen if a person directly plunged his sword into the heart of another?" Ryan asked seriously as he wasn't convinced about the power of the formation.

[The immortal formation would create a shield in front of the attacking object to block it. The whole formation is riddled with sensors that can predict the power of an attack even before it reaches its target. So, there isn't any change in deaths.] Sarah explained with a neutral face.

'But, if a Mechanical Nova human tried to kill a person in one shot, the formation will be rendered useless. The ones in MA aren't supported to block attacks of them.' Sarah sighed inwardly. She didn't want to tell this Ryan as it isn't necessary for him to know this now.

After waiting silently for about 10 minutes, Ryan was called to the spar.

The spar ground was around 5 acres and square in shape. Surrounding it was a blue barrier that prevents any stray attack from going outside. This barrier absorbs the Mana and renders the attack useless and Manaless.

Ryan entered the ground followed by Sarah. Opposite him was a man who looked in his early 20s. He had a muscular body and a handsome face. His hair was brown in color and had brown eyes.

Beside him was his Mech which was also brown in color. The Mech had a burly build and it was evident that it focused on the strength category rather than others.

Ryan and Richard's eyes crossed with each other as they nodded their heads acknowledging each other's strength.

After the spar was declared to start, both of them activated their Fusion form. After the Mech Fusion process was completed, both of them looked drastically different.

Ryan's eyes had completely turned green. He had a gun in his hand while his body was covered with metal armor.

His opponent's eyes had changed golden in color while the hair turned pitch black. His height also increase by around 5 inches and was a little less tall than Ryan's. He had an axe in his hand as his weapon.

They didn't wait for the so-called 'strength finding gazes' and directly went into combat mode.

Richard started his attack by cutting the air with his axe. The axe released a green light that traveled toward Ryan. Ryan escaped from its attack range by using his movement technique. The green slash that Richard sent from his axe covered some area and hence it wasn't easy to dodge it and the only option was movement technique.

Richard followed up his attack by running toward him and aiming a punch at his stomach. Ryan didn't see this coming as he had just stabilized himself after using the movement technique.

The fist landed directly in his stomach and he was pushed back a meter. There was a small drop of blood coming from the side of his mouth.

Ryan wiped the blood and sent a Mana blade which was made of dense Mana. This was followed by a Mana bullet from his gun. The difference between the two attacks was 10cm.

Richard blocked the Mana blade by cutting it down with his Mana-coated axe. But, he got hit by the bullet right in his chest and blood poured from his would. The blood wasn't much due to the armor, still, it was enough to hurt.

Just before Richard could come back to his senses, Ryan changed his gun to a revolver and fired another bullet which hit Richard's right ankle and he fell down.

The match was called off with Ryan as the winner as Richard was unable to fight anymore. Hence, Ryan's first spar in immortal formation resulted in an astounding success.

A 'click' sound ran through his mind as he saw the EXP notification. He was satisfied as he almost had half of the EXP needed for level-up.

'Status' Ryan said in his mind.

Almost half of his Mana was depleted at the spar due to the Mana bullets he used. It surely costs a lot of Mana.

Ryan didn't hang out there anymore and went back home. He reached back correctly at the lunch time and so, he ate lunch with his family.

He had decided to take his next mission tomorrow.
