ALICE
I don’t have the strength to speak. My voice is tightly locked in my vocal cords. And the key is buried deep down to my chest. The energy to draw it out is gone.
I’m already... way past saving…
“Hey!” Companion shook my shoulder. Trying to keep me awake. But it has a backward effect. All the bones he juddered throbbed. Whacking every nerve with pain. My eyes bolted. And I sucked on my breath sharply.
“Sorry, sorry.” Companion apologized. His voice sounds genuine. And it brought such fluffy feeling to my chest, ah, music to my ears. I tried to smile but both of my cheeks hurt.
I squinted to focus my eyes on a small area above, then to his beautiful electric blue eyes, serious, deep, composed, and unexpressive. I can’t see the rest of his face clearly. Sunrays won’t light up most of the parts in this room.
