Chapter 11-Athena, the Spirit God
Athena cried and told Dwight what happened to her after he left her for so many years.
Athena waited for him every day, but after a million years, she lost hope and decided to get stronger to look for him someday.
She also led her kind to become stronger, ruling the Spirit World with her best efforts to help her kind.
She never contracted with anyone, feeling they were not worthy of her.
She became a good ruler and was well-known across the universe for reaching godhood.
Dwight had left her many techniques and skills, and with effort and dedication, she earned the title of the first Spirit God.
She was the first spirit to become a god, respected and feared for her power.
Some gods tried to form a contract with her, but her power was tyrannical, which scared some of them away.
When she became a god, she passed the throne to her disciple and roamed everywhere looking for Dwight, only hearing legends about him.
She learned that the Sword God killed a god with a single punch for attempting to rob him while disguised as an old man with treasures.
She also heard a rumor that the Sword God destroyed 10 planets because their inhabitants disturbed his sleep.
Athena was stunned by these stories, knowing that Dwight often acted as a beggar or flaunted his wealth to attract and eliminate greedy individuals.
She searched for him for billions of years, nearly losing hope until, while traveling in a certain world, she was covered by a huge magic circle.
She realized someone was summoning her and was about to ignore it when she heard a familiar phrase:
"Yo, fvcking Athena, come out and don't make noise."
Stunned by the disrespect and the summoner knowing her name, she decided to enter the portal, leading her to a mortal world and to Dwight, whom she called Sword God.
She never knew his real name, only his title.
Dwight listened to her story, feeling a bit of pity for her continuous search.
He flicked her forehead, saying, "I left you for your own good, but you wasted your time searching for me, huh?"
Athena, with her small hands, scratched her forehead, looking cute.
She wasn't angry, remembering how Sword God used to flick her forehead.
She was happy to see him again but realized something.
Scanning his body, she asked, "What happened to your body, Sword God? You don't have much spiritual power, and your appearance is different."
Dwight expected this question. "It's a long story, but in short, I was bored, so I sealed my powers and reincarnated as a mortal."
Athena was stunned by his response, never imagining that the strongest god's boredom would reach this level.
She wondered if she would feel this bored at his level, knowing that no one challenged him anymore, and many still feared his name.
Seeing her look at him weirdly, Dwight coughed and said, "Ehem, I didn't summon you for a reunion. I found the perfect partner for you."
Pointing at Tessa, Athena noticed the unconscious lady behind them for the first time.
She looked at Dwight angrily and shouted, "Sword God, I never knew you had this kind of fetish. If you had just said it, I would be willing to..."
Blushing, Athena's face turned red.
Dwight flicked her forehead again and calmly said, "You misunderstood me. I do not have that kind of fetish. I want you to form a contract with her and guide her to become strong. She doesn't know my identity, and I want you to keep it that way."
"I gave her a good physique and passed some techniques to her mind secretly. In short, you will guide her and not reveal my true identity."
Athena, stunned by his request, nodded, not wanting to disappoint him.
'Okay.'
She scanned Tessa, realizing how beautiful she was. Transforming into light, she entered Tessa's heart.
Inside Tessa's body, Athena was stunned. "What? If I'm right, her physique is the Primordial Ice Body, now extinct and unmatched. The last holder of this physique became a strong god but mysteriously vanished. This physique is one of the strongest elemental physiques, and I didn't expect Sword God to casually gift it like this. How many secrets does he have?"
Feeling a bit envious but admiring Dwight more, she acknowledged that she still didn't know many things about him.
Tessa's physique matched her well, as Athena was an Ice Spirit God.
'You're a lucky girl.'
Athena understood that she would benefit from being Tessa's familiar due to her unique physique.
As Tessa grew stronger, Athena would also become more powerful.
She recognized that Sword God's plan was meticulous and felt flattered, believing she held a special place in his heart.
Little did she know, Dwight's primary aim was to have her guide Tessa due to his own limitations on time and the desire to maintain his current image as a lazy and unmotivated teenager.
He wanted Tessa to grow strong through her own efforts, merely giving her a boost to start with.
Dwight left the room, confident that Athena knew what to do next.
Athena, floating in the air, looked at the sleeping Tessa and clapped her hands, chanting, "Awake."
Tessa stirred and opened her eyes, seeing the small figure above her.
Confused, Tessa murmured, "Is this a dream?"
She recalled the mysterious man named Hope who had appeared in her room, promising to grant her wish before she lost consciousness.
"Who are you? Where is Hope?"
Tessa asked, trying to make sense of the situation.
Athena looked at Tessa's beautiful face with amusement.
"Hope has left, and I am here to give you an offer. My name is Athena, the queen of the spirits, and it's your honor to see me," she announced proudly.
"Spirit?"
Tessa questioned, recalling the books from the Starlight Clan library.
Spirits were powerful beings that could be contracted through summoning rituals, often aiding their summoners in battles.
Spirit Summoners were a rare profession, and Tessa quickly deduced that Hope had summoned Athena to be contracted by her.
"You are a spirit, and Hope summoned you here to be contacted by me?" she asked, piecing together the events.
Hope had promised to make her wish come true, and she had wished to be strong enough to protect Dwight.
She felt that this might be her chance to become a Spirit Summoner and help Dwight.
Though excited, Tessa remained cautious, wanting to analyze the outcome of her decisions before committing.
Athena admired her composure and intelligence, realizing why the Sword God cared for her.
Unlike others who might have rushed into the contract, Tessa was thoughtful and deliberate.
Athena floated closer to Tessa.
"Yes, you are correct. Hope summoned me here to help you become strong. I am here to offer you a contract. With my guidance and your new abilities, you will have the power to protect those you care about."
Tessa looked at Athena, weighing her options.
"What kind of contract are we talking about? And what will be expected of me?"
Athena smiled.
"The contract will bind us together. You will gain access to my powers, and in return, you will train diligently and strive to become stronger. You must also promise to keep Hope's identity a secret."
Tessa nodded, understanding the terms. "I accept the offer. Let's form the contract."
Athena's smile widened. "Very well. Let's begin."
Athena extended her hand, and a magical circle appeared beneath them, glowing with a soft light.
Tessa felt a surge of energy as the contract was formed, binding her and Athena together.
She felt a newfound strength coursing through her veins, knowing that she was now capable of protecting Dwight.
"Thank you, Athena. I won't let you down,"
Tessa said, determination shining in her eyes.
Athena nodded. "And I will be here to guide you every step of the way."
With the contract in place, Tessa felt a renewed sense of purpose.
She would become strong, not just for herself, but for Dwight and everyone she cared about.
And with Athena by her side, she knew she could achieve anything.
