Palace Shenanigans

The duo entered the Palace and saw a furious man on a Throne with two women by his side. This was the Emperor, Yu Xiaoyun and his wives, one of them looked like Yu Qingxuan and the other was pretty cute too!

Long Chen smiled and said "Aunty, Long Chen is very impolite and hasn't brought a gift. I hope you can forgive me, since we'll be relatives in the future." he ignored Yu Xiaoyun and talked to Yu Qingxuan's mother.

An old man snorted and said "So bold! Doesn't even know the-" Cross flashed and slapped that old man before standing in the position he was at before. Cross whistled and said "Seems like this elder had somewhere to go! Bye, elder! Hopefully you make it in time!" the old man coughed up blood as he flew out of the palace.

Long Chen suppressed a laugh and just smiled. Yu Xiaoyun was gloomy and said coldly "Why aren't you kneeling in front of Us!?" Cross laughed and Long Chen said quickly "Sorry, I don't kneel. My knees are made of glass if they touch the ground I'm afraid I'll die."

Yu Qingxuan's mother laughed and Cross said "Alright, old man. Let's get this over with, yeah? We're not going to kneel to you, you're going to force us to because of your pride, then we're going to fight and inevitably the entire Empire will be destroyed then we'll run away with your daughter. Is this a fun game for you? Personally, I want to leave this terrible place as soon as possible."

Yu Xiaoyun said coldly and angrily "What terrible place!?" Cross walked around and said "Don't you find this whole Empire ridiculous? It can't be that I'm the only one." several people glared at him, but he continued "A bunch of children outside cursed me for killing people, as if I was a scourge on the human race. Let me ask you something, old man. You go outside and try talking to a Demon Race, what are the odds the Demon will listen to your words and suddenly turn over a new leaf, stop slaughtering Terrans, live peacefully with everyone else, and hold hands to sing happy songs?"

Yu Xiaoyun said "0% The demons must be killed!" Cross smiled and leaned on Yu Qingxuan's mother's Throne as he looked at Yu Xiaoyun and said "So then why are all the greenhouse flowers outside saying otherwise? Just before someone insulted every cultivator in existence for using their fist to solve problems. This... maybe he was a clown? If reason worked why is there a military? If reason worked, why don't I see half demon kids running around playing with half beasts and half underworld people?"

Cross shook his head and drank from his wine gourd as he said "Naturally, this doesn't work. Yet here I am trying to reason with you. It seems that I am in fact the hypocrite here. Well anyway, I think you should stop teaching this reason over strength nonsense. A bunch of mortal people pointed their fingers and looked at me with disdain as if they were better than me. What a joke. Anyway, they're in line to meet the King of Hell, maybe they can reason with him?"

Cross smiled at Yu Qingxuan's mother and said "I don't thank a lot of people, but I would like to thank you. Feng Xue'er is my wife, thank you for taking care of her." The woman smiled and Cross walked away, back to Long Chen as he said "Little bro, why don't we just kidnap her? If another straw bag of a person insults me, I won't be able to hold back anymore."

Long Chen bit his lips and looked at Cross with amusement, Yu Xiaoyun frowned and Cross looked at the old men around the palace before adding with a sigh "Plus, these guys are ready to pit you every step you take. Look at that old man over there, tell me he doesn't look like he's coming up with a scheme right now!" everybody looked at the old man, who blushed in embarrassment, he was indeed scheming at the moment.

Cross clapped his hands and said "I'll go! This old fart was really plotting!?" Long Chen laughed and the old man looked around in bitterness. Cross shook his head and said "Well anyway, this is why I don't like royal families. Every step you take, you have to look in all directions and behind yourself just to see if someone is staring at you. One wrong step and you end up in a ditch 4 Empires away."

Long Chen said "This is the plot, we can't change it." Cross sighed and replied "Fine! Fine! I'll just complain on the side then." Long Chen smiled and said "Let's do the tests." Yu Xiaoyun said "We didn't mention that yet!" Long Chen flipped a script in his hands and said "Oh right! Sorry." he put it away and said "I love Yu Qingxuan with my entire being. Give her to me."

Cross sat on the side as Long Chen was told he needs to go through tasks and trials, but also tribulations, jump through 18 hoops, walk a tightrope, walk on his hands, and balance on a ball while holding a tray of cookies and milk, just to get Yu Qingxuan.

On top of all that, Yu Xiaoyun had the right to veto in the end. Cross felt like it really wasn't worth the effort. They can just kidnap her anyway, they should've kidnapped her a while ago.

The duo walked out after Long Chen gave the two Empresses a gift. Cross didn't talk to the other one because he could tell she was faking her emotions the whole time. In fact, she didn't like Long Chen, she didn't like Cross either, but she seemed to specifically hate him after he said he was Feng Xue'er's husband.

Hehe~ She better pray she didn't pull anything.

They walked out of the palace and Cross said to Long Chen "I think we're going to have a big fight later." Long Chen said "Eh? Why?" Cross said "I might have to kill a prince and the Empress." Long Chen was stunned and said "What happened?!" Cross said "The way she looked at me after I said 'Xue'er was my wife'. I feel like she was going to get one of her sons married to Xue'er. If that's the case, then I need to kill him, and then she'll get angry and then I'll have to kill her, and then Yu Xiaoyun will get angry and I'll have to kill him too."

Cross rubbed his forehead and said "Let's just hope the princes are smart enough to fuck off." Long Chen had a bad feeling and a big frown sprawled on his face. Suddenly, two unique fragrances appeared.

The duo looked over and saw Yu Qingxuan and Xue'er in Palace dresses. Cross and Long Chen walked over, Cross smiled and opened his mouth when he was blocked. Intense Rage erupted and he slapped the Eunuch into blood mist. He glared at the rest and said angrily "You tell your emperor if he really wants to play I will start a massacre in the city. If you block me from my wife again, I will kill everyone that comes!"

He turned back to Feng Xue'er and smiled saying "This place isn't for me." Xue'er giggled and said "I remember last time, you we're with a royal family." Cross rubbed his nose and held her hand, Long Chen said curiously "Didn't he kill that Royal family's princes?"

Feng Xue'er pushed her tongue into her cheek and looked at Cross as she said "Yeah, he did. Almost all of them, right?" Cross looked awkward and said "My good wife, don't tell me you are upset? I'll go into Hell and bring them back for you!"

Xue'er laughed and Yu Qingxuan asked "So important?" Xue'er replied "They were my brothers." Long Chen and Yu Qingxuan were stunned and looked at Cross, who looked angry as he said "What brothers? Those ants were simply beasts! They were lusting after their own sister. What a joke."

Feng Xue'er giggled and hugged his arm happily, Cross said "You two chat. I'm gonna talk to Xue'er." he pulled her aside and said "Go get Red and Elise, I'm putting you in the Inner World. You're coming with me."

Feng Xue'er was stunned and Cross said "This is to prevent problems for the future. I don't know if you noticed, but you're the cutest little beauty in the entire world. Apparently one of the Princes has taken a fancy to you, even the Empress don't like me because of this. What happens when I kill that Prince?"

Feng Xue'er opened her mouth wide and said seriously "Okay." she whistled and Red and Elise flew over. Cross transmitted with his soul "I absorbed the entire 3000 Worlds, you should be able to find everything you need inside. Also go to the blood pool and maybe your bloodline more pure. Red, there's a Phoenix Inheritance inside I saw it in the Ancient Inheritance Pavilion. Xue'er, there's a ton of Alchemy furnaces in the Treasury and Alchemy Pavilion, I'll forge them into your Phoenix Cauldron later."

He looked at Elise and sighed "This is the best place for you Elise, but I'm sure you know how dangerous it is here. If these people find out you're a real Vermillion Bird, I'm sure they'll suck your blood essence dry. I'm sorry." Elise smiled happily and said "It's alright."

Cross opened the Inner World and Red and Feng Xue'er disappeared, Elise walked over and whispered in Cross' ear "If you can get the Vermillion Bird inheritance, I'll love you for the rest of my life." she kissed his cheek before disappearing.

Cross was stunned and rubbed his cheek. This bird had feelings for him? Huh? Since when? He threw the thought to the back of his mind and walked back to Long Chen and Yu Qingxuan, Yu Qingxuan left after Cross soul transmissions to her the situation.

He and Long Chen left the Palace and went to the Huayan Company. They got 30 million Silver coins that were only good in the Rosefinch/Vermillion bird empire, then they left. Long Chen went to complete his tasks while Cross directly rented a small building.

He walked inside, it was a two floor house on a busy street. He cleaned the inside and set up tables and chairs before putting in a kitchen and reforming the entire first floor. He made pots and pans with precious ores, and planted vegetables and fruits in his Inner World, using the beast meat.

He set up a signboard on the front of the House that said 'Dragon Blood Kitchen' before making menus out of thin air and sitting outside on a chair, waiting for people to show up. He had nothing to do here, he might as well spend his time relaxing and fooling around.
