Three days has passed, Anneliese spent all her time in her father's study room which is quite small but full of books, Trying to find something about the dormant Book of Spells or it's trigger. Not finding anything in books present in the study room, She decided to sneak to the town's library in the morning.
Anneliese is now walking quietly on the main town's route, unbeknownst that she is being followed since she has left her house. Haselburg is not very large yet developed town surrounded by greenery all around and a lush green forest on its west which ends at a river called Waspa flowing from valley of green mountains. Not a single resident can be seen in the town's cobblestoned street as if the peaceful town of Haselburg has went quiet. In an attempt to avoid getting caught by Officers patrolling the streets, Ann took a swift turn to narrow alleyways, it's then she sensed someone following her and she turned to look back and her eyes fell on a black cat and sigh of relief escaped her lips.
Reaching the library, she walked past the front side and went to a small quarter behind the library. Knocking the door, Ann whispered, "Liam, it's me Anneliese!" and within a minute, the door opened.
With a stunned face, Liam, the helper boy in the library, asked, " Ms. Anneliese! what are you doing here in the middle of a curfew? and he quickly Stepped aside for Ann to come inside before anyone could see her.
Anneliese smiled awkwardly and sheepishly said, "There is something I need to look for in the old section of library which can't be waited till the curfew retracts! Looking at a door which opens in the library, she emphasized, "It is quite urgent!"
Liam nodded without questioning further and led her to the library. He was well acquainted with Anneliese as she was a frequent visitor and sometimes even helped him in stocking the books.
Going upstairs, walking past the many racks, they reached a small door in the left corner. Taking a step forward, Liam opened the door with it's key and asked Anneliese, "Do you need my assistance in finding the book you are looking for, Ms. Anneliese?"
Unable to trust anyone regarding the book, she replied, "I will be fine Liam and Thankyou for allowing me to take a look at the old books here". Anneliese stepped inside the room where copies of the old books on supernatural kinds are kept.
Enough light was coming from the large glass windows at the ceiling where the black cat set, watching her. One by one, she scanned the books on the racks. Her feet stopped at the section where the books on Witches and their creations were stocked. She attentively read the names of the books on the rack and her eyes stopped moving, when a book caught her attention. Placing her left hand on the rack, she stretched her other hand and pulled out the book. She held the book in both of hands and observed the book cover which had a black hard cover with an intrinsic symbol inscribed on it. When she was about to open the book, she heard a voice coming from behind, "What do we have here, Ms. Sneaky?"
Startled, Ann snapped around and her eyes fell on the red eyed man. When she noticed him walking forward, her feet subconsciously took a step back and a gasp escaped her lips when her back hit the wooden book rack.
Vincenzo now stood in front of the blue eyed girl, looking at her intently, he taunted, "You seem to have a bad habit of showing up at places where you are not supposed to be!"
Three days ago, Vincenzo has left his cat, Oscar, to spy on the blue eyed girl. When Anneliese stepped out of her house, Oscar started sending out signals to his master. Sensing his cat's presence here, he teleported and appeared in the room which is full of books.
Taken aback by his presence, Little breathless, Anneliese asked, "What are you doing her? Wait! how did you even get in here?"
Vincenzo grinned, "Teleporting is one of the perks of being a pure blooded vampire."
Anneliese anxiously asked, "And out of all places, why would you teleported here?"
Vincenzo smirked and thought in his mind, "For someone who has been caught three times in unfortunate places, She sure have some nerve to inquire me!"
He decided to play along and said, "You see, I was intrigued about a human lying with a straight face to the Conclave!" Looking at the roof he pointed, "So I left a spy to watch over you." Anneliese followed his gaze and noticed the same black cat she encountered in the ally earlier.
Vincenzo's gaze return to the girl and his eyes fell on her delicate neck which was craned up to look at his cat. His fangs appeared in his mouth at the thought of how it would feel to sink his teeth in her slender neck and he ran his tongue over one of his fangs.
Anneliese returned her gaze to look at the pure blooded vampire and noticed his red eyes has darkened and peered at her neck. Her little heart began to race when the thought of her being alone with a pure blooded vampire in a closed room started to sink in her mind.
Vincenzo could hear her heart beating loudly and sensed the fear behind her crystal blue eyes.
Trying to act brave, Anneliese asked the vampire, "How did you know I was lying that day? Is lie detecting also a perk of being a vampire?"
Vincenzo's grin widened and he casually replied, "Not a perk but years of experience, you could say. And now it's time to switch turns and I will be the one asking questions."
Vincenzo's face turned serious and he inquired, "Why were you really in the forest that day?" In deep threatening voice, he continued, "And don't even think about making up another lie unless you want that little heart of yours out of your chest."
