Resume

The next day, even though I didn't feel well, I had to go to work. We all gathered in the basement, where Taeri, along with Kang Woo's wife, kindly brought us coffee and breakfast. We had gotten the files we needed from headquarters the day before, so it was time to start digging into the case details. The first part of our work from earlier was still pending, so we had to continue from where we had stopped.

With determination, we began our discussion, eager to make progress and solve the case. Even though I wasn't at my best, the sense of teamwork and dedication among us gave me the strength to focus on our important tasks. I had to do this for me and for everyone because I knew what we were going to be facing in the future would be dangerous. It was a risk that we had to take so that people could stay in peace.

Everyone's support and the aroma of freshly brewed coffee helped boost our spirits (mostly because the coffee is brewed by Taeri herself). We knew that by working together, we could overcome any challenge that lay ahead, and that's what kept us going.

As we delved into the case files, we discussed the details and tried to piece together the puzzle. The atmosphere was serious, but we were all determined to find the answers and bring justice to the situation. The support and encouragement from our team members, especially Taeri's coffee, made the difficult task a little easier.

Despite my initial feeling of unwellness, I soon found myself fully engaged in our work, driven by the shared commitment to make our community a safer place. We knew that the road ahead would be tough, but with our unity and determination, we were ready to face whatever challenges came our way. Our shared goal of ensuring peace and safety for every one kept us motivated, and we were prepared to do whatever it took to achieve it.

"So shall we pick it up from where we left off?" I asked.

Everyone nodded...

"Before we begin, I just want to give you a brief of what we discussed and how we concluded the session and then take the further conversation from there alright? If you are okay with this just give me a thumbs up" I said

everyone sat there with their thumbs up.

"Min Ha Ri, a 39-year-old woman, committed a series of murders for financial gain. Her dark path started with her first victim, her husband, whom she married against her will for a luxurious lifestyle. When he faced financial ruin and declared bankruptcy, she couldn't bear the idea of returning to poverty, so she killed him to claim the insurance money that would secure her extravagant desires.

In her next twisted chapter, she married a wealthy heir. Initially, she acted sweet and loving, but when he contemplated giving up his family's fortune due to family issues, she couldn't let that happen. She murdered him to claim all his valuable properties, continuing her relentless pursuit of wealth.

Her next victims were a prince from a royal lineage and his mother. Their constant pressure for her to have children, something she never wanted, pushed her to commit a heinous act. She murdered them, ending their nagging, but sinking deeper into her life of crime.

The final chapter of her gruesome saga took an unexpected turn. Min Ha Ri fell in love with her victim, and they even had a child together. However, the statement suggests that when he confronted her, she killed him. What if, as the statement implies, she knew that he was digging into her dark past? This raises questions about her motivations, showing how her life had become a web of lies, greed, and deceit.

Throughout this horrifying journey, Min Ha Ri's actions paint a portrait of a person willing to go to extreme lengths to maintain her lavish lifestyle, even if it meant taking the lives of those who came too close to uncovering her sinister secrets."

"Why do you think so?" Kang Woo asked

"Because the autopsy said that he was given doses in four different intervals, unlike the others," Hyung answered.

"Even the articles accused just her for all the murders, here take a look at the article written back then..."

"At 39 years old, Min Ha Ri committed a shocking series of crimes, taking the lives of five people in her relentless pursuit of money. Her first victim was her husband, whom she married against her wishes. Driven by her craving for a luxurious life, she murdered him when he faced financial ruin, hoping to claim insurance money.

In the next dreadful act, she married a wealthy heir, playing the role of a loving spouse. But when he considered giving up his family's assets, she couldn't resist her greed and killed him to seize his wealth. Her pattern of violence continued as she wed a prince from a royal lineage. Their constant pressure to have children, a dream she never shared, led her to murder her husband and his mother.

The most heart-wrenching twist came when she fell in love with her next victim, even starting a family. Tragically, she killed him when he tried to uncover her dark past. It leaves us wondering whether fear of her secrets being revealed pushed her to commit these dreadful acts.

Min Ha Ri's story is a chilling reminder of how an unquenchable thirst for wealth can lead to unspeakable horrors. Her actions paint a grim picture of a person consumed by greed, willing to go to extreme lengths, even taking the lives of those closest to her, in pursuit of financial gain.

These horrifying events serve as a stark warning about the consequences of prioritizing material wealth over human life and happiness. It's a tragic tale of a woman who chose a path of violence and deception to achieve her desires, leaving a trail of devastation in her wake.

The story of Min Ha Ri is a reminder that true happiness and contentment cannot be found through ill-gotten gains and that the pursuit of wealth at any cost can have dire consequences. It highlights the importance of valuing the well-being of ourselves and those around us over material possessions, and the need for a society that promotes values of empathy, compassion, and ethical living."

"Wait a second? but why did that article come out when the details of the victims were kept hidden?" Hyung asked.

"Apparently an anonymous person gave a huge amount of tip to a media outlet to print this, however, the word got out fast and the police were fast enough to seize the media outlet and stop this from printing, but for some reason, they left it here"

"Who would have that kind of money, guess guys? Min Ha Ri" Kang Woo replied.

"Not to mention she left her kid at an orphanage...it seems like she had it all planned," Taeri said.

"Or they," I said.

"They? What are you implying?" Austin asked

"Look, I told you the same last time as well...how an illiterate like could possibly know isopropanol? how could she know the exact dosage that could kill a human? But I might be wrong about her pleasure in killing her last victim so sadistically. Her partner must have found out that he was trying to dig up her past. So, there is a possibility that they have killed the last victim." I said.

"Not to mention..." Hyung started talking

Everyone looked at him...

"She never involved her child in her activities. It appears she may have wanted a fresh start. However, it's puzzling because if she indeed killed her husband, she would have also killed her son. She had previously killed both a mother and her son, but would she really do this to her son? This leads us to wonder if the person responsible for the latest victim didn't know about the child or chose not to harm him since he wasn't seen as a threat. Another possibility is that she realized she had joined the wrong group or person, and in a bid to protect her child, she left him at an orphanage. The situation raises questions about her motives and what led to her actions, leaving us with a perplexing mystery to unravel."

"So what are you saying? That she ain't one but a group?" Taeri asked.

"Mmhmm...besides remember she is illiterate, how would she know what exactly to print in the article when she can't read and write herself, here look the report says the anonymous person tipped the media outlet to print the exact same message he gave them" Aman pointed out.

"Guys, when you put it that way, then I have something that could justify your argument," Austin said.

"What?" Taeri asked.

"Consider the series of similar crimes that occurred while she was behind bars. Could it be that the same anonymous individual or group incited others to commit these crimes as part of an evil plan? Perhaps they used her unique abilities and lured the police into releasing her under the perception of a prison escape. It's a chilling theory, suggesting a complex web of manipulation and deceit at play."

"Bingo" Hyung exclaimed.

"So if we are looking for a cult, we should look maybe prior to these murders?" Taeri said.

"Maybe or maybe not because if it's a cult, these killings will tend to happen in the future which they did, so this just confirms that what we are looking at might be relevant for our case," I said.

"So what are we waiting for?" Austin asked.

"The files, they are locked in our office," Aman said.

"So what? we can ask people there to bring it to us right?" Kang Woo said.

"I wish it was that simple, the lock pad on the door is beyond repair so we were given keys for the time being I have the keys, so I will be going there tomorrow and we can discuss further tomorrow," I said.

Everyone was ready to dispatch but I felt the need to talk about the anonymous notes and what I think we should be doing with them.

"Guys I need to talk to you about something...please take your seats"

Everyone was confused...but took their seats and waited eagerly for me to start...

"This is about the anonymous note, the writer whoever they are...I think I should contact them...what do you say?"

"The anonymous note's writer?"Austin added.

"mmhmm...you are right" I replied back.

"But we don't know anything about them, are you sure it is going to be safe?" Taeri asked with deep concern on her face.

"Didn't we want to wait?" Kang Woo asked.

"Are you sure?" Hyung asked.

"I am, I am not saying that I am going to meet this person right away, but I am waiting for another note, if there is another note I would definitely go and meet them."

"And why is that? Why are you waiting for another one?" Kang Woo asked.

"Because, if they are either of the killers, they would've committed another crime, just to get our attention, but there are no reports of any murders around us from the day we got the note. If they are trying to help us, or whatever they wait for us, they are not desperate though is what I felt. I am open to your suggestions...Have any?" I looked at all of them genuinely concerned.

everybody threw their hands in the air but agreed if we received another note, I would go and meet whoever this person was.

After we dispersed that day, it seemed like a normal evening. I went to bed, hoping for a peaceful night's rest. But, just like before, I found myself dreaming about that mysterious, unknown person once more. These dreams or visions had been haunting me lately. At first, I tried to ignore them, but I couldn't shake the feeling that they meant something important.

I decided to keep these dreams to myself, not wanting to worry anyone until I understood why they were happening or what they might signify. The next morning, as I prepared to head to our office to retrieve some important files for work, my colleague Austin joined me. We walked to our office floor, and as we approached the door, we noticed a note stuck to it.

This note gave us legit chills and we were too dumbfounded to even contemplate what was happening. Austin and I looked at each other and then one of us had to muster up the courage to read the note, since I am the leader of the team and also the elder one among us I took the lead and read it out loud and it said...

"Ignoring me much, I am not a killer nor someone that intends harm to you or your colleagues, meet me...fearing the unknown is a waste of time because in the end you anyways got to face it...contact me"

As I read those cryptic words, a shiver ran down my spine. It was evident that our work had drawn the attention of someone mysterious, and their intentions were unclear. The unsettling note left us with more questions than answers, and we knew that the challenges we faced were far from ordinary.

Austin and I looked at each other absolutely clueless...

it looks like the mysterious man is approaching them a bit faster than they anticipated. who is he and what is going to happen?
