Pawn

(An hour after the auction.)

Sigma broke off from Hisoka who was dealing with the transactions with the auction. He had a few jobs to do. He wanted to do them as quickly as possible and rest, he and Hisoka had both been working all day and a small rest was needed.

Sigma took his small and fluffy red panda and placed him on his shoulder and began his work.

The first task he had to deal with was the marines. He had to blank out their memories. What happened during the break was not to be revealed to anyone in the marines or the World government. Sigma knew he would have to do this since the CP-0 agents were dead. The hard part would be making them believe that their allies weren't dead but he was sure he could come over it.

Sigma walked down the stairs that led to the basement where they were confined. He took a key out of his pocket and used it to open the door.

His eyes were greeted with both the marines sitting down across each other. They were chained by their arms and feet to the ground.

"Good morning,." Sigma said while jiggling the keys to get their attention.

"So you've decided to come and get us huh. I thought you'd forgotten about us." Tsuru said.

"I'm sorry you felt that way. The auction went longer than expected so we forgot about your existence. If it makes you feel better the auction went splendidly."

"Disgusting. Hearing that things are going well for people like you is going well makes me sick to the core." Sengoku spat.

"Oh? Hisoka told me you might act like this. Well it's to be expected you're a marine and I'm scum according to you. It's funny that you work for an organisation like the world government and speak like that. I guess ignorance is what makes a marine." Sigma kneeled in front of and took out his signature silver pocket watch and began moving it in the regular pendulum direction.

"What are you doing?" Sengoku shouted.

"Silence, please! A hypnotist requires full silence while achieving his craft. Perfection is needed in all aspects of life you know?"

The room went quiet and Sigma began his craft.

He loved his ability. It wasn't something villainous like brainwashing. No his was more elegant, more refined. He wasn't telling the mind what to do. He was giving it subtle messages to slowly give them a whole story. He was trying to subtlety influence and manipulate and he loved it.

"Please follow the movement of this watch." After a few seconds, her eyes began to follow it as he said. "Now, listen to my voice and let it guide you slowly." Tsuru's pupil turned into small swirls which gave Sigma the confirmation that is ability was in play. "Ok, When you leave this hypnotic trance you will forget all the events that occurred during the break of the auction and the last 2 hours. Your mind will believe that the auction went as planned and that everything went well. When I snap my fingers you will go into deep rest." Sigma clicked his finger and Tsurus head slumped.

Perfect. Just as planned.

"The human mind is interesting, isn't it?" Sigma asked.

"What did you do to her?" Sengoku said. His voice was clearly filled with anger and malice.

"I already told you didn't I?"

Sengoku didn't like how this man spoke in riddles. Everything he said had meaning yet was vague. He couldn't use his devil fruit due to the seastone chains. He couldn't move much so he had to use his head. His plan was to make Sigma act erratically so He'd open his chains.

"This is what I get for coming to a place like this. An island where scum like Hisoka rules over. He probably thinks of you as a tool. To him, you're an expendable pawn in his chess game."

"Are you familiar with the game of chess?" Sigma asked.

Sengoku didn't answer so Sigma continued with his words.

"Pawns are the life and soul of a chess game. They make sacrifices and if used correctly can become something better than imaginable. Calling me a pawn is a compliment." Sigma said as he approached Sengoku.

He took his regular crouching position and placed his pocket watch in front of Sengokus face.

'His ability has something to do with his pocket watch, I'll just look into his eyes.'

Checkmate. The fixation that his ability had something to do with the watch was just a distraction. It was just a medium he used to get the power to work. The glasses he wore were the true power. The swirl patterns on his glasses made the victim go into the hypnotic daze.

Sigma read out his instructions and left Sengoku in his slumber. He would've thought he'd have more of a troubling time doing this but it was accomplished so he didn't complain.

Sigma dragged both of their bodies and took them to the transaction hall. He clicked his finger and they were awake.

"Ah, Sengoku-san I have a headache. Let's hurry up and leave."

Sengoku hesitated before answering. "Yes, let's leave."

-A few days later at Marine HQ-

"So how did it go at the auction." The fleet admiral kong asked.

"It went well. We received a few of the items on the list and there were no hiccups." Tsuru reported.

"Now lets get onto the main problem. 3 CP-0 agents disappeared have you any intel on that?"

"It quite a mystery. Hisoka didn't leave the stage once and his assistant was always present. We used our haki a few times and no one else was in the building. So no outside sources could have done it. I don't think I can remember them leaving at any point. My memory is hazy on a few of the moments of the auction." Sengoku said.

"Takeuchi Hisoka, an enigma that we have no data on. He's intelligence is frightening and his unknown combat capabilities are a fright." Kong sighed. "I can see that Garp is waiting for you outside. You are dismissed."

Tsuru and Sengoku bowed and left the room.

A man with black hair and scar shaped like a crescent moon next to his right eye was standing outside the office. He was holding a bag of rice crackers in his hand.

"Sengoku, How was the mission? I can't believe you didn't tell me about it" He shouted.

"Keep your voice down Garp! The mission was top secret I couldn't go blabbing my mouth."

"Don't dodge the question. Tell me all about the mission."

Sengoku and Tsuru both explained the events to the mission to Garp as they walked down the corridor.

"Takeuchi Hisoka. Is he strong?" Garp asked.

"That's the question you asked huh? While he didn't fight anyone, he always gave the aura that he was incredibly intelligent and the strongest in the room."

"Hisoka, I look forward to meeting you!" Garp declared.

A chapter about Sigma. I wanted to give him a perfectionist personality. Hope you liked it.
