A Letter

Noob mistake. The lightning bolt bounced off the breastplate, Most metal has a special coating that deflects lighting. Though it's quite rare, I'm sure Holly might've found enough to apply it to every.kids breastplate. Holly's wooden sword hit the girl's head.

"You're out Bella. Who's next?" I dropped the bandits on the floor a bit too dramatically. I grabbed a wooden sword near the rack at the entrance and walked in front of Holly.

"Could you humor me a match, Holly?" I heard some murmuring about how I was on a first-name basis with "Ms. Stone".

"Rem, we both know you're far stronger than I. And if you continue standing here I fear my students will develop a crush." There were a few talking about how I was stronger than Holly, and the other half talking about how hot I was.

"Guess I got ahead of myself." I threw the wooden sword at the rack, it was about 20 feet away but it still landed perfectly without hitting any other wooden swords. Thankfully most of them stopped talking.

"Hey, you four take the bandits to the cell." She pointed at a couple of people. and they quickly picked up the bandits and went off.

"The rest of you keep sparring." I followed her up the stairs and into the room labeled her office.

"Here write up your report." She handed me a piece of paper and a pen. I sat down and started writing about my encounter with the bandits. After I finished I remembered the crying girl.

"Holly, the girl that answered the door seemed pretty tired so I sent her home." She sighed, she grabbed my report and started reading it.

"You're too easy on people Rem, didn't even try to injure them? I guess your non-violence is why they're considering you. That and your absurd strength."

"Considering me for what?" She started smiling, she grabbed something off her desk and threw it at me. On further inspection, it was a letter. I opened the green dragon seal, I unfolded the letter and read it.

Dear, Mr. Fellstar

Your reputation has come to our attention and on behalf of everyone here at White Dragon Academy. We would love for you to be a professor at our beloved institution. Though we learned from the King that money is not important to you we learned from the Captain of the guards. Ms. Stone that you care greatly about your hometown, so we would like to inform you that a number of students at the White Dragon Academy are from Corun. What better way to help your hometown then ensure that future generations get the best education possible. We will send a carriage that will arrive the day after you read this letter. You'll have until then to decide.

Sincerely, Headmaster Garrick Anderson

I folded the letter and threw it on the table.

"Are you serious Holly?" She stopped smiling.

"Rem, you need to move on. I know you stay here because it's your hometown, but that doesn't warrant you throwing your life away." I started chuckling.

"To be honest the reason I didn't take any of the other jobs was that I don't really like fighting. I use the "Corun is my hometown" as a cover." She wasn't very happy.

"Are you telling me that the possibly strongest person on Euclase doesn't like fighting." I nodded.

"Never once have I gone all out in a fight, it's made me despise the practice altogether." Holly fell down to her knees.

"Don't tell me... All the times we spared you didn't try at all?" I shook my head. She managed to get up. She dusted herself off and pointed at me.

"You, Me, 2 wooden swords, and Outside." I gasped.

"Holly how could you recommend something so lewd, but as they say the show must go on. I'll get the sticks, you meet me outside." I ran out before she could start cursing, Holly was so far the only Woman immune to my charm, which is why I only tried flirting with her.

As I walked downstairs and grabbed two wooden swords I saw that what I assumed to be trainees, were still sparring. I didn't bother watching the fight and instead ran out the back door. When Holly came outside she was followed by a bunch of her students.

"Rem, I want you to go all out if you hold back I'm going to kill you." I smiled.

"Sure you are sweetie." I bit out the students chuckled but were then silenced by her glare. She pointed at one of them.

"Count us off." He nodded nervously.

"3, 2, 1, GO!" We were about thirty feet away but I managed to reach her in less than a second and gently pushed my sword into her neck.

"You're out." She fell to the ground again, then looked up.

"Magic?" I nodded. Holly always seemed to hate Magic and believed it was a lesser form of combat since one's skill in Magic was decided when they were born and not by hard work. I don't blame her, only about 50% of the population, give or take 5%, had magic, I'd have to guess she was in the 50% without it. She got back up.

"Let's spar again, this time no Magic, got it?" I nodded. Another boy counted us off and we were back to sparring.

Let's just say I was undefeated, and Holly... totally humiliated.

Our sparring went on until around midday, that's when Holly said the trainees were dismissed and a new batch was brought in. Where was she finding these kids? I decided to not humiliate her in front of another batch of trainees so I decided to head out to eat. I wasn't tired from my sparring match with Holly, but I attempted to make it seem that way by panting and saying I was famished. She bought it.
