Exam Began

Six months was barely enough for most candidates for the preparation of the upcoming exam, most were those who just awakened their Dharma and manifested their Zajra so it was obvious that their experience with their Dharma and Zajra would pale in comparison to those who manifested their Zajras at an earlier age.

No matter how long they hoped the preparation period would be though, it would still come to an end and the exam would start officially regardless of whether everyone was ready or not.

Today marked the day the written exam, the first component of the EDF exam would start and tension filled every nook and cranny of Planet Golrich as the candidates braced up for what was to come.

It was a cloudy day, typical of Planet Golrich and the snow was extremely heavy. Zeralf's and Endra's figures were visible as they passed through the giant gate of the building they had been residing in for the past months.

Zeralf was in an all black outfit, starting with a thick cape, shirt, pants, and boots, it was giving an edgy demeanor along with his impassive look and sharp gaze. Endra on the other hand just wore long cinnamon pants with a pair of dark boots and he was done.

As they passed through the gates, they saw Kitasha who was standing a few distances away while rebuking her maidservant by pulling her tender cheeks which were now burning.

'' Eh? Were you waiting for us, my Lady? '' Endra uttered in a teasing and flirtatious tone while slightly bowing sheepishly.

'' My Lady, I told you not to ..'' Kitasha's maidservant who was in her usual black gown glared menacingly at the duo while being cut off, her childlike face was now funny to look at.

'' Shush your mouth and stop spewing gibberish. '' Kitasha looked away to hide her cheeks which were burning with embarrassment.

She didn't like the idea of going to the exam centre alone since her maidservant could not follow her to the exact spot so she decided to tag along with the duos even though she wouldn't make it so obvious, at least that was what she thought until Endra and her maidservant bust her, in front of Zeralf to make it even more annoying.

'' Humph! As if you're worthy of my attention. '' She grumbled and began to walk away, but they were all heading in the same direction so the others were also in her vicinity.

During the exam day, all the portals had been jammed including private portals and hovertrains so the only means of transport for the candidates to get to the exam locations was to reach there by themselves and since the three, coincidentally had their locations to be the same, they were now heading there amidst a weird atmosphere.

As they were going, they saw many candidates who were also heading to their respective exam locations with most of them having anxious and nervous looks.

'' Anxiety will kill these people before they even write the exam hehe. '' Endra mocked while pointing his fingers at the anxious candidates. He waa evidently seeking trouble but no one had his time, the exam phobia had weighed a ton on them to realize that someone was picking a fight.

'' You think everyone is like a psycho somebody who acts mysteriously in other to look cool, humph, we shall see. '' Kitasha replied also imitating Endra's mocking tone and she tried as much as she could not to look in Zeralf's direction.

Zeralf didn't interfere in their bickering, he simply walked on the snowy ground at a relaxed pace and his face had nothing to reveal about how he felt toward the exam.

A couple of minutes later, they appeared at the location where they would be writing their exam. The whole structure was built like a ginormous block of offices and was painted silver. The structure towered into the air and its width didn't lack in size too.

Each room could contain a hundred students and there were about a thousand rooms. Structures like this were built in different places on Golrich and other planets that were also holding the exam to accommodate the candidates and to make sure they had organized spacings.

'' Woah! This is marvelous. '' Endra exclaimed loudly with twinkling eyes as his gaze wandered around the structure outlines. Other candidates turned their heads in his direction and shot him states of displeasure but he couldn't care less.

'' Acting so barbaric. '' Kitasha snorted as she readjusted her posture.

Murmurs reached the trio as the other candidates started talking to each other in conspicuous tones while discreetly staring at them, it was obvious that Kitasha's presence was too eye-catching considering her background and beauty, however, no one dared to approach them. Her overprotective maidservant had left already, if not she would've shushed them with her glares.

'' Ding! '' A soft bell rang and every candidate's attention was drawn to a man who was hovering tens of meters in the air close to the giant structure.

He appeared to be in his late twenties and he had dark skin with red thick curly hair that reached his lower ear lobe. His brown eyes were alluring and so was his chiseled jawline.

He wore a brown button up shirt with brown pants and black boots together with a green long coat. This was another uniform of the EDF agents.

'' Welcome everyone. '' The man greeted and his thick and attractive voice traveled across every corner reaching each candidate clearly without the aid of any artifact.

The man started by congratulating them on their awakening, he then went ahead and talked about how great EDF was, the benefit it gave its agents, and their dirties as agents, he then continued with what the exam structure would be like including the arrangements for the written exams.

Most candidates at this point were tired of his boring talks and they were already yawning or showing bored expressions. Endra's low curses were occasionally heard and Kitasha faked a serious pose despite the fact that she had had enough too. Zeralf, although he still kept his cool, was the most bored of all and he felt as if he should appear near the man and slap him to a comatose state.

'' You will now be teleported to your respective halls where you will write your first component of the exam. '' The man eventually concluded and his thick attractive voice which was no longer pleasing to the candidates' ear reached them, most now felt empty inside and some of them had their stomachs churning due to nervousness.

White lights suddenly began to flicker underneath each candidate's feet and their composure worsened as some even had their hands visibly shaking, EDF exam, the exam that would determine their prospect would now commence.

'' Good luck guys. '' Endra muttered loudly with an anticipating look as he was teleported away from the surrounding.

The same happened to others and Zeralf and Kitasha weren't an exception. Kitasha shot Zeralf one last glance and she proclaimed softly.

'' Do well. '' Her appearance faded with the flickering light and so did Zeralf who was slightly taken aback.

'' Did she just act nice uh? '' He pondered amusingly as the usual twist and pull of space made his vision darken before regaining his sight almost instantly.

Zeralf appeared in a large white hall with black seats and desks that had been occupied by every participant that was teleported here and each seat had a transparent glass cube that separated the participant from the rest of the world.

'' Ding. '' A soft bell chimed which signalled the start of this component. A black blue hologram appeared before every participant and they were filled with essay questions.

Zeralf scrolled through all the questions and he smiled inwardly, his upper lips briefly curved before getting to work immediately.

The first question was what he and Endra and almost every other person taking this exam had expected.

'' Discuss what you understand on the sech's theory of existence. ''

Zeralf placed his thumb on a button on the black box that was displaying the hologram and that gave him access to telepathically answer every question.

'' Existence was born from nothing which gave birth to the primordial Chaos followed by Spacetime, the fabric of existence. Creation and Destruction of these pillars of existence brought about the birth of two opposing pillars, Light and Darkness which further brought about chaos, to bring equilibrium to existence, Order was born and that resulted in a partial unification of existence, this sprouted Life and then Death of life, to maintain perfect unification however, six pillars of existence were born, Lightning, Fire, Air, Water, Earth, and Weather, they were all thrown to the unfathomable cycle of Karma and Fate of existence and these pillars all came together to give rise to a stable existence. '' Zeralf answered the question in one breath.

Although the theory was broader than that, that was the only available information for his level and he would learn more in the institute.

He looked up and glanced around before resuming what he was doing almost immediately. Every man for himself, he didn't give a shit about others and whether they failed or passed was their personal problem, as for him, he had questions to answer.
