At 9 am students who been wondering around gather in the middle of the village and the instructor brief us about all the things we should take note. It's mostly basic stuff like don't offend native or how dangerous monster around the village is. But there's also couple additional important information.
1. If you're dead in the game world you'll be knocked out for at least 3 days. There's no permanent damage but you need to restore your damaged soul.
2. This is not a game so monster wouldn't drop money and you need to bring the monster carcasses to the village or harvest the corpse for material.
3. You have 10 big inventory slot and 20 small slots; big slot can stack item up to 50 or 1 big items like bear carcasses and spare armor; small slots can stack up to 20 or 1 medium sized items like rabbit carcasses and spare boots. We can't stack monster carcasses and equipment so inventory management is important.
4. We get 1 silver allowance to start off to buy equipment and potions; We can buy equipment from the village but the variety is not that great.
5. The in-game currency is copper, silver, and gold. 1000 c = 1s; 1000s =1g.
After the briefing, Mr. Hubert takes us for a tour around the village and introduce us to various building and services. There's a shop, blacksmith, tailor, butcher, inn, pubs, townhall, etc. There's no cliche adventurer guild or something like that instead the town hall replace its function and there's even similar quest board stand in front of the town hall.
Mr. Hubert also told us that you can ask the native if they need any help. It gives a lot of benefits to be friend with the native as they have a lot of useful information and if you're lucky maybe you can be friends with powerhouse who will take you under his wing or even teach you some skills.
There's a big field near the fence where a lot of dummy stand tall. Mr. Hubert points to a really sturdy building and told us that you can try fiddling with skills in that building to avoid any casualty. You have to pay to rent a room in that building and the rates are not that cheap 100 c per hours so you really have to make it count.
After we finish touring the whole village Mr. Hubert take us outside so we can observe monster and beast from a safe distance. Some monsters are docile others would aim to kill on sight. But I remember from the library even the most harmless monster would turn to bite when you attack it.
Mr. Hubert lead us back to the village and then disperse us after he told us that we're expected to be back at 3 pm and we don't need to worry about food as you're all monitored by medical staff. Students are dispersing and we also move to the side so we didn't block other people way.
"What are we going to do now? Hunt for some monster?" asked Alice excitedly ready to jump at first sight.
"We at least need a weapon to do so; Blacksmith first, I guess?" James chip in
"Have you check your stats in comlink? The principal said there's a slight change." Albert reminds everyone. "I prefer to explore the villages first and ask for advice from natives." I continue
"I already checked my comlink; There are additional EXP stats in your status tab and there's also new party tab. Other than that everything seems to be in order. It's also already 27% filled." Kana said
"Oh, let me see mine;" James said "32%. How come mine is higher than Kana. I guess we can ask around first; who knows maybe they would give us weapon so we don't need to buy one."
"Mine 34%. Oh, Let's create a party. Go go go invite me!!!" Alice said
"I got 30% and Luna's 44%. Well let's go then; Village tour part 2!!!" I said while inviting Kana, James, and Alice to the party.
"Oh, I can see your HP and MP above your head," Alice said after she joins to the party.
We spend the next hour touring around the village for the second time, but this time we try to strike conversation everytime we can. Most peoples in the villages willing to chat around with us but we didn't get much useful information from them.
They told us about monster around the village and how the blacksmith didn't sell any magical based weapon like wand, book, or orb. There's also a little church where you can pray and ask for blessing and couples hut west of the villages where the hunter resides. The villager also told us to try eating some food; Although our real body is not here, some people enjoy the feeling of eating and it can benefit them due to the placebo effect.
We head to the blacksmith after we finish touring for the second time. The blacksmith is jumped pack full of people and there's little to room to wiggle inside it. We wait for 15 minutes so people that already finish their business can get the hell out.
The selection is really limited and the price is not that cheap either basic weapon like sword and spear cost 200-400 copper and bigger weapon such as greatsword or battle axe cost 600-700 copper. Lucky for us, the shield similar to what James use is not sold out yet. James shield is also on the high end as shield need more material compared to a sword.
And in addition to the coffin shield, we also buy a wooden club for James's skeleton to use. The shield cost 650 coopers and the wooden club cost 200 coopers. Along the way, we also pick up female top and bottom armor for 1 silver. We decided to use the money as a group as we'll hunt together in the end. I can't find any instrument or magic related weapon so next stop is Alice's arm guard, armor and supply.
