[Bonus chapter] The War.
I was combing my hair when the doorknob turned. When it opened, queen Alissa walked into the room. She told me that the prince has arrived.
"What of Marlena?" I asked with a concerned look. Did they leave her in red valley? Nobody understood why she was sent there. It happened so suddenly that I had no chance to ask her.
"She came but her ankle is broken" queen Alissa announced. I was shocked. Did they have an accident on their way? I dropped the comb on the table and went to meet her.
Grandmother was standing in front of her room. I took a deep breath and promised myself that I was not going to utter a word to her no matter what.
"What are you doing here?" She asked as soon as I came closer.
"I want to see queen Marlena," I told her.
"The midwife is inside. Nobody is allowed to go in."
