A Night Out…

Christopher decided to leave the motel for a late night meal while the rest of us went to sleep. Christopher didn't sleep. He was always awake throughout the night. I always wanted to know what that felt like but how Christopher described it, I didn't want to know any more.

{This part of the novel is from the perspective of Christopher…}

"I'm stepping out for the night." I said as I closed the door behind me.

Gregory had offered to share a room with the half succubus. 'I'm sure he just wanted to get underneath her clothes again.' I thought to myself.

I ran at super speed to the edge of the town. Compton. It was a small border road town. You know, one of the irrelevant towns in the US.

I walked up to a group of ladies I saw passing by.

"Hello ladies. Lovely night isn't it?" I said as I approached them.

"Yes it is" one of the girls replied.

There were three of them. Two brunettes and one blonde.

"I'm Jane. This is Vanessa and this is Charlotte." One of the brunettes said as she gestured to the blonde then the other brunette. They were cute so I decided to turn on the charm.

"Lovely names for such lovely ladies" I said as I took them by the hand and kissed them. I saved the blonde, Vanessa, for last. I was intrigued by her eyes. They were captivating.

"Where are you heading to? The night is dangerous Ladies." I said.

"We're heading to a party." Jane said. Jane was loud. She was out going and very out spoken. She wasn't tall but she was taller than the rest of her girlfriends. She looked like she was 5"6 or shorter. I didn't know. I wasn't good at guessing peoples height or any other thing. I was just terrible at guessing in general.

"Would you like to join us?" Vanessa invited me to go with them to the party. She was the last person I expected to ask me.

"Sure. I would love to." I said with a hint of false joy in my voice. I guess no one really realised it so I assumed that they weren't that bright.

"Shall we?" I said and put both my arms out, bending my elbows like a bride's father taking his daughter to the altar.

"Oh! What a gentleman." Jane said as she took my arm and pulled me towards her. I think peer pressure had taken over Vanessa and she also took my hand. We walked to the party. We seemed to be walking for miles. I talked with the girls-by 'the girls' I mean only Jane and Vanessa- but after a while I realised they were all wearing shades… in the night. Then it occurred to me that Charlotte was holding Jane with one hand and in the other was something I couldn't quite make out.

"So… erm… Ladies… How far is this party?"

No one answered.

"Jane? Vanessa? Charlotte?" They were still walking without saying a single word. Then I decided to listen for their heartbeats. I didn't hear any!

I instantly tried to release my arm but they grabbed onto it tighter. It had changed from a stroll to a drag.

"Argh!!" I yelled and yanked my hands out of their hold. Then I let out a loud shriek which disoriented the three girls-I didn't even know if I should call them girls anymore.

I tried to run away with my speed but I was stopped in my tracks. It felt like someone had grabbed my neck. I couldn't move. Then I turned to face the three girls. I thought they were witches.

"You're… wit…ches are…n't you…?" I said even though I was being strangled.

"No we're not." Charlotte said. Her voice was eerie and sounded like there was a cat in her throat.

"We're not your everyday witches." Vanessa said. Now her voice also sounded like Charlotte's.

"Don't tell him that. You were always talkative" Jane scolded her.

"You're always a complainer. Always full of complaints. 'You don't do this right', 'You don't do that right'. We're sick of it." Vanessa responded.

Then it became a full argument between the three of them, then it hit me.

"Oh… I kn … ow who… you are?" I said, still hanging in the air.

"What?" Vanessa said, like it was impossible for me to know. They dropped me on the ground and I landed on my feet.

"You three are the three fates aren't you? My father told me about you." I said rubbing my neck. I was relieved that they had let go of my neck.

"So you know who we are. It doesn't change what you did!" Vanessa said.

Did they really know what I did?

I thought nobody knew

Oh no! If Gregory was to find out…

"You're afraid the son of Lord Lucifer will find out about how you..." I didn't let her finish her sentence. I ran at super speed and took what was in the hand of Charlotte. I realised it was the eye. Their most treasured possession.

"No!" Charlotte let out a scream that could compare to mine.

They tried to come after me but without their eye they couldn't tell where I was.

"Give us back the eye, you… you…you vampire!" Jane exclaimed.

Now that pissed me off.

"You can know what I have done, you can trick me by turning into pretty girls but nobody calls me a vampire!" I was angry.

I threw the eye far into the lush forest behind us and sped towards the fates.

I threw Jane into the forest, zipped to Charlotte, tossed her behind me far into a nearby building and went to Vanessa and grabbed her by the throat and took her off the ground.

"Please… please wait! I… have some…thing to tell… you about… the son of Lucifer …and yo …ur merry b…and of friends..." Vanessa tried to bait into a conversation and it worked.

"What do you mean?" I said.

"One of yo…ur friends… is going to… betray… you… and cause some…one you… love to… die!" She said.

"You're lying. Oh, and give this message to your sisters, Stop meddling in my life and stay away from my friends." Then I threw her away I didn't even take note of the direction. I just threw her as far as I could.

I walked away from the scene back to where my night began and found a couple of humans and drained them of a few pints of blood and made my way back to the motel. It was a few hour away from daybreak.

I couldn't get what Vanessa had said about the five of us.

I don't even know how I can feel comfortable knowing about it. Maybe she was just trying to buy time to place a hex on me but I didn't feel anything.

The four of them walked out with Gregory in the middle and Lenette and Antoinette at either side of him and Carly, looking as beautiful as ever walking towards me and the car.

'I hope they don't find out what happened.' I thought to myself.

"How was our night?" I asked them.

They exchanged looks and said it was a normal, uneventful night. Then they chuckled.

"How was your night, Christopher?" Lenette asked with a look of suspicion on her face.

"Oh same as yours." I replied.

She wanted to probe more, I could tell but she decided to drop it. I was relieved.

"Are you all ready to get back on the road?" Carly asked in her soft, sweet, angelic voice.

"Yes. Shall we?" Antoinette replied.

"Most definitely." I followed.

As we were about leaving the question kept ringing in my mind;

'Who could it be?'
