Back On The Road…

'I hope they don't find out what happened.' I overheard Christopher's thoughts as they seeped out of his mind. I didn't mean to but now I wanted to know what exactly he meant. So I asked him but he decided to brush it off. I decided to ignore it and let it go but later, just as we were about leaving another thought came out;

'Who could it be?'

Who could what be? I wasn't sure what was going on but I was beginning to become weary of Christopher.

Greg didn't seem to hear it but it was crystal clear to me. I wondered why but once again I decided it was best to let sleeping dogs lie. After all it didn't concern me, did it?

A few miles back into the trip and Anne decided to break the ice…

"So Greg, you never really go into detail about the fight between you and your father?" She said as she reclined in the chair and put her head on his shoulder.

Gregory's expression changed instantly.

"Stop the car… Stop the car now!" Greg exclaimed.

"Why what's wrong?" Carly asked before the car came to a screeching halt. I had used my telekinesis to stop the car.

Gregory told me to open the door. He got out, took off his shirt-exposing the scar given to him by his father-and his wings came out.

"Where are you going Gr…" before Anne could finish her statement, Greg was already quite a few feet in the air. The wind that gushed out from his glorious black, eagle like double pair wings almost flipped the car over.

"Let him be. He'll be back. He's going to clear his mind." Christopher assured us.

"He hasn't completely gotten over that fight, has he?" I asked Christopher.

"No, apparently he has not." He replied.

"Why did you have to bring it up Anne?!" I yelled.

"I didn't know, I'm sorry" Anne said.

"Well sorry won't bring back Greg now will it Anne?" I said.

"Woah, Lenette chill okay?" Carly tried to calm me down but I refused to be soothed. I was practically throwing a tantrum on the side of the road. I can only imagine how the by-passers felt seeing a Brit shouting on the side of the road like some nut-case who had escaped the loony house.

Out of nowhere, Cristopher took me and all I heard was an ocean. The waves were crashing against each other and it was so serene, so peaceful.

When I came back to my senses Christopher explained that he had mesmerised me in order to make me calm down because if I had gotten any angrier I may have caused a road accident on a freeway.

"Now that you've calmed down, let me tell you why Greg hasn't gotten over the fight." Christopher narrated the story like he was there, because he was.

"It was December, I remember clearly because it was difficult to get blood that wasn't tainted with alcohol. Gregory and his father were arguing in his study. Take note that at this time Gregory was only 13 years old and had already surpassed a normal 13 year-old demon's powers. Gregory didn't like the idea of going to hell so lord Lucifer decided to make an exception and let his son stay on earth. Then he told him that when he returns, they would take over the world but Gregory told his dad that never in a million years would he take over the earth. He didn't agree with his father's ideology. Lucifer didn't like how his son was responding to his demands. Then Gregory said something that pushed Lucifer past his breaking point." Carly interrupted the story, "What did he say?"

"He said and I quote, 'it's no wonder your father threw you down, you want to have everything all to yo…' Then Lucifer slapped him so hard he flew through the house.

Gregory landed in a tree on the outside of the house.

Then Lucifer exited the house trying to look for his son but as soon as he walked out, Greg met him with a blow of his own. Everyone around was surprised. Then Gregory exclaimed that no one is allowed to hit him. That made his father much angrier than he already was. So he ripped off his shirt- honestly I think Greg learnt that from him- and let out his wings. They were much bigger than Gregory's and were much darker. They were four pairs of wings, majestic to think that they were once white, almost as bright as the morning star. Then he took to the sky with his horns out and a ring of fire over his head. He flew down so fast like a lightning bolt but Gregory was able to evade. He also tore his shirt off and took to the skies as well. He then opened an astral portal and took out his sword, Epsilon. The sword of mass destruction which belonged to lord Lucifer himself. Forged from steel from the heavens which could be used to end the world if it got back into the hands of Lucifer or any other very powerful demons. He charged at his father and swiped but he dodged with ease. Lord Lucifer threw a punch at Gregory, which knocked him so far back he crashed into the town hall. Gregory was now bleeding from the back of his head. Lord Lucifer was tall with crisp white skin. We were all confused as to how Gregory was black but then he explained that he manipulated his genes to make Greg look like that so that no one could tell at first sight that he was his son. He approached his son and spoke to him.

"You are getting on my nerves, boy!" lord Lucifer exclaimed as he approached him.

"Oh really? I thought we were playing a game of hit the boy again. Fight me like a demon!" Gregory shouted at his father.

"Gregurioua, you are not even ready to face a low level demon how…" Lucifer didn't finish. Gregory had slashed at his father's face. He left a mark on his father's face with Epsilon so he couldn't heal. Now this pushed him past his breaking point. Lucifer did not take this act lightly because his own spawn had the gall to attack him with his own sword which he handed down to him as a token of affection from a father to his son. He felt overcome with rage and anger. He flew into Gregory's air space and feinted an attack towards his head causing Gregory to attempt a block with the sword. Lucifer knew his son was inexperienced in battle so he used that to his advantage and in one swift motion he took Epsilon from Gregory and slashed it against his chest.Gregory was scarred. He felt so much pain but he had to push through.Greg was struck to the ground after the slash. He tried to get up but he felt unable to stand, like a thousand bridges had been placed on his head. Greg fought through. Blood gushed out of his chest. Weak, beaten down but not defeated Greg slowly got to his feet. His father looked down on him from the sky like his father, The Almighty, looked down on him when he was cast from Heaven thousands of years ago. Greg spread his wings and flew up to his father with the swiftness of the wind. He was so fast even his father didn't see him. Greg was able to retrieve the sword from his father thanks to the unrivalled speed, unheard of and unseen in the demon world. He sent it away through a new portal. He casted it away. Even he didn't know where he threw it. If he hadn't done that, the safety of the world would have been at stake. He then turned to his father and faced him hand to hand. The fight became dirty and caused so much damage. They destroyed a bridge, a few estates and a car lot. It took Aphrodite and a couple of other 'gods' to separate Lucifer and Gregory. You'd think it was a beat down but it was far from it. Gregory was able to hold his own against the supreme ruler of hell at 13 years old. Even though lord Lucifer's powers had dwindled, it was still impressive for anyone to even stand toe-to-toe with him. From there Lucifer was dragged to hell by agents of Aphrodite and forced him to sit on his throne, that way he couldn't leave hell until he was at full power. Aphrodite hoped it would give her time to hide her son but Gregory refused to leave earth." Christopher stopped and looked up in the sky.

"I decided to stay and fight him myself because I'm the only one who can stop him." Greg said as he descended from the heavens. He had been gone so long the sun was setting. The sun set behind him made him look glorious and majestic. His black wings seemed to brighten in the sunset. They were beautiful. He was beautiful, scars and all. He landed right next to Antoinette and hugged her.

"I'm sorry for the way I reacted. It just brings back memories I don't want to relive. This scar is a big enough reminder." Gregory said.

Anne was astonished. "I … I should be the one apologising. I didn't know."

I was beginning to get jealous. He never hugged me this long.

"And with your help, we may be able to beat my father and sister." Greg said while looking at all of us.

"Shall we get back on the road?" I asked.

"Yeah, let's hit it." Carly replied.

"Lenette, could I speak to you for a second?" Greg pulled me away to talk to me.

"Yeah, what is it Greg?" I was eager to know what he was going to say.

"When all this is over… erm… would … you… like … to..." Greg was stalling.

"Just spit it out Greg." I said with a grin.

"Okay fine! Would you like to go out on a date with me?"

He finally asked. I was so happy I almost forgot to answer.

"I'd love to…"
