I remember the time when we had Micheal arrested for physically abusing Stella. When he came out, he didn't spare Celine and I. Apparently, he knew about where we worked. He knew where I worked and had me fired. His family was that wealthy and influential.

Sometimes, I wondered why he never chose a girl of his status. Instead, he had chosen my friend, Stella to be his girl. Stella was barely surviving. Her family were struggling until Micheal became their 'saviour'. This was the main reason Stella could never leave Micheal no matter how toxic he was. He was taking care of hers and her family's financial needs.

Still, the regular beating was getting too much as time passed. Even if Stella got a well paying job and decided to leave Micheal, he wouldn't let he do that easily. He had the influence and money to make her lose her job or do something worse to her. In a way, she was trapped and she had learned to accept it.
