The Last Meeting...

"So, what exactly happened?" Masamune Mochizuki asked in a neutral tone, but it was pretty clear that the man was barely holding back his anger. The man was completely livid, but he knew that if he lost himself in anger, then he won't be able to do anything…

"We were watching them as we wanted to gather all the information we could before acting. Even though we were noticed at the beginning, we were able to discover where they were staying, thanks to the car they were using" Miki started to explain everything from the beginning with a grimace on her face… She knew that she had fucked up…

Miki had a bandage wrapped around her right shoulder and chest. The bullet fired by Yozora Daichi had penetrated her right shoulder and since she was resting on her stomach when it happened, the bullet was able to reach her right lung. According to Fiona, she was lucky, if the bullet had hit her left side, then she would have been dead as the bullet would have punctured her heart.

"…After midnight, all of a sudden a small group came out of the house. Since Yozora Kemono, Yozora Daichi, Bellatrix Black, and Roberta were part of the group, we decided to follow them. They made their way toward a nearby house and after entering the house, they started to torture the residents while laughing" Miki continued to explain the story with an ashamed look on her face.

She was supposed to be the voice of reason for the group and she fucked up… "That is when everything went sideways. Arashi wasn't able to watch any longer and even though we tried to stop him, he left. After a lot of arguments, we decided to support him. We caught up to Arashi and after making a quick but viable plan, we decided to attack them" Miki explained and Masamune continued to listen without showing any reactions on his face.

"We were slightly late, by the time we reached the house, Yozora Daichi had already killed one of the residents. Surprisingly, they came out of the house on their own, I presume, one of them had some sort of sensing ability. Even though they knew we were there, we still decided to attack… Everything was going according to the plan" Miki gritted her teeth in anger.

After a few moments, she took a calming breath. "We were able to separate Yozora Kemono from her son and Bellatrix Black. Roberta and their other teammate were still in the house, which was good for us. Just as the plan, Yuko was able to cancel Bellatrix Black's barrier with her Skill, and I was able to kill her, but that is when everything went wrong…" Miki continued to explain. After a couple of minutes, she was finally done with the report…

"So, you think Yozora Daichi activated some sort of Skill after Bellatrix Black was killed and thanks to the Skill he was able to defeat all of you?" Masamune asked with a disbelieving look on his face. He knew that everyone possessed a different type of Skill. Someone's Skill was strong, while someone's Skill was kind of weak. So, it was possible that Yozora Daichi possessed a miraculous Skill, but he did not want to believe that.

If both the mother and son duo possessed such high-level Skills, then he did not want to imagine what kind of chaos the two of them could cause… There was another thing nagging inside his mind, they had proof that Yozora Daichi was a monster just like his adoptive mother, so there was a chance that people like Yozora Daichi and Yozora Kemono were being extremely powerful Skills by the Mana Archive. After all, Bellatrix Black also possessed extremely powerful Skill or Skills.

Thankfully, Bellatrix Black was dead… That was the only good news he had received from Miki Tsurugi. One monster was permanently off the street. If his second theory was correct, then they were going to have a lot of monsters on the streets in the future. Their future was dark and bleak if that was the truth, but they were not going to give up. In a fight between good and evil, good will always prevail, no matter how hard the fight was…

If they failed by some chance, someone else would pick up where they left… That is how it was supposed to be… Evil wasn't meant to prevail no matter how strong they were… As long as someone was ready to fight for the good, evil could never win… There were always some people who would rise up in face of the darkness, just like he had done…

While Masamune who busy thinking about the future, Miki could not find a good answer to Masamune's question no matter how much she tried. "I see, you don't have an answer for that…" Masamune nodded his in understanding. "Neither do I" Masamune added with a solemn look on his face, surprising Miki.

Masamune stood up from his chair and stared at the gigantic screen in front of him. "To be honest, I don't want to believe Yozora Daichi possesses a Skill capable of turning the tide of the battle… That is a scary prospect, but I would be a fool if I don't believe that" Masamune said looking at Yozora Daichi's picture on the screen.

"Miki… What Ampule Zero had done is extremely stupid. To attack them without any information was nothing but a mistake. I understand that Arashi wanted to save the family and all of you wanted to help him, but you should have seen the bigger picture and now four of your team members are probably dead or they are being tortured for information" Masamune turned around and started to glare at Miki dangerously.

Miki gulped loudly. "I will take responsibi…" Miki began to say, but she was cut off by Masamune.

"No, I can't put all the blame on you. Arashi is the one who is at fault here… Yuko is the team Leader, so the blame lies on her shoulder too" Masamune said with a stern look on his face. Miki wanted to argue, but she thought better of it. She had tried her best to stop them, but when Yuko decided to help Arashi, she gave in. Arashi and Yuko needed to learn that there were consequences for their actions or they could never curb away their impulsiveness.

"…What about the rescue mission?" Miki asked nervously.

"There will be no rescue mission until you are healed completely… I think they would be able to hold that long. That would be adequate punishment for them, don't you think?" Masamune asked in a cold tone and Miki did not know how to react to that…
