"What are we going to do with this beast?" A figure in high ranking military fatigues points at a hologram of a young mostly black dragon.
"He's been telling people that his name is Wyatt," the water great spoke up from where she sat on the leader table, "Do you want my honest opinion?"
"Why are we even discussing this?" Mr. Earl slammed his fist down on the table, "We should just kill the beast."
"Are you willing to risk your daughters health by severing her connection to the beast in such a violent manner?" the water great laced her fingers together.
"She made her choice," Mr. Earl snapped as he glared at the water great, "You seem hesitant Eliza."
"Of course I would hesitate," She looked down at the report displayed on the tabletop, "He played a large part in reducing the casualties we would have suffered at the school exchange event. After fighting alongside him I'm certain that at the very least he considers elves a bigger enemy than us."
"The enemy of our enemy may not be our friend," the air great mulled it over, "But it's not a stretch to think that we might be able to use him."
"You're considering this?" Magnus Earl switched his glare over the the air great, "You saw what he did to your student."
"I also fought him directly," the air great stared back at Mr. Earl's glare virtually unaffected, "He could have killed my student at any time. From what I could tell he was just trying to hurt him. Not kill him."
"What difference does that make?" Magnus clenched his fist as it rested on the table, "That beast," he pointed at the hologram angrily, "Passed himself off as human for months."
"Goliath didn't kill him," the man at the end of the table silenced all argument with the simple act of tapping his pen on the table, "Goliath was the first to support the werewolves after the revealed themselves to us. His report states that this creature is short tempered, and largely not hostile towards humans."
The man looked up for the first time since the meeting began. The bags under his eyes made him appear gaunt as if he hadn't gotten enough sleep in a very long time. His hair was mostly red, but a large amount of it had long since turned grey. Despite all of that he looked to be younger than forty.
"This creature is from earth," he continued speaking a few moments later, "Every blood test we've done has pointed to that fact. How much more could our own world be hiding from us?" the tone he spoke in made it clear that the question was rhetorical, "He appeared out of nowhere. Picked a fight the first day he was here. Then from there just a few minor skirmishes with a few problem students. All while he was developing close ties to Ethan Burk. Then there was the rift city incident." he swiped aside the documents he was looking at, and pulled up another one, "According to Savannah Earl, he saved her life when the rift opened up to a thousand foot drop. Then saved her life again when she encountered a Basilisk. Despite her being openly hostile towards him. Then she allowed him to bond to her."
"Bond?" Eliza swiped over to the same thing the exhausted man was reading before lacing her fingers together once again, "Yes. I remember reading about this. From what I understand it allows them access to each other's emotional states, and prevents them from attacking each other. It can also be used to track down each other."
"Shut up," Magnus slammed his fist down on the table again, "None of this matters once that fucking thing is dead."
"Magnus," the tired man slowly turning his dull brown eyes his direction, "We are all aware of your position in this matter. Shut up, and let us finish our discussion."
Magnus leaned back in his chair angrily, but didn't say anything more.
"As far as we can tell he cannot manipulate the people he's bonded to," the skinny scientist to tired mans left spoke up, "All of our scans indicate that the effected part of Miss. Earl, and Mr. Burks brain is nowhere near affecting their conscious mind, or any part of their mind that controls movement. What we can tell is Mr. Burks bond is probably more advanced than Miss. Earl's. His brain chemistry has changed. His body is also showing slight change. Mostly in his ability to regenerate." he flipped through his notes nervously in the dead silent room since he was the only one in the room that had actual paper notes, and not using an electronic device for his notes, "His stamina, and healing ability has been enhanced somehow, but our genetic testing indicates that there haven't been any genetic alterations to his body. He just appears to heal faster, and needs less sleep than the average person. Miss Earl on the other hand doesn't seem to be receiving the same benefits. Which is what brought me to the conclusion that Mr. Burk's bond is more advanced than hers."
"Have you researched the beast itself yet?" the man to tired man's right spoke up, "You can't keep over focusing on these kind of things Snider."
"Oh I did look at the creature Jacob," Snider the scientist looked over to the man to the right of the tired man, "He's constantly producing mana. It lingers around him like a second skin glitching out all of my equipment, and preventing me from doing any internal scans. The samples we've taken have told me three things about this creature. One. Like the commander said this creature is from earth. Two. This creatures scales are incredibly hard. Three. This creature can produce multiple types of venom. Right now it has both a paralytic toxin, and Basilisk venom hiding away in it's jaws."
"Basilisk venom?" Magnus looked at snider, "This thing is already lethal without a lethal injection in its jaws."
