"So basically, you have muscles?"

"No you don't get it Assen! I can enhance my physical strength with magic! The things that are written in your weird book!"

After Mallen told what his speciality in magic is, Assen made a mocking comment purposefully to tease Mallen.

In this world there are many forms of magics and spells. Elemental magic, Enhance Magic, Barriers, De-buffs, summoning magic, Illusion magic, and other forms of magic that are unique to species wise such as humans can unlock the holy magic and demons can use different forms of evocations and symbolic magic unique to them. Beast-race can use more advanced enhance magic, but well it depends on race to race. The only magic not known are those of the fallen one, that resides on the southern region of the mega continent, a dead land with no life but monsters lurking, and only a few beings exist there in civilization. Aside from that there are magics that are banned such as necromancy and void magic for different reasons.

"Speaking of your book, what is your speciality Assen?"

Layn asks Assen. He had this question on the back of his head since the beginning of their union. But since Layn felt that Assen was trying to hide this topic, he found it hard to ask.

"This is the Gospel Of Filios Elementus, which contains all the 4 elemental spells up till Advanced A tier."

Everyone led out a "woah" except Gen who didn't say anything but did seemed a bit impressed

"The spell that broke your wall is in here too"

"You piece of shi-"

It seems Assen loves to tease people, as his next target was Gen. Before Gen could punch Assen everyone grabbed on to him and tried to calm him down.

The Elemental Magic consists primarily of 4 types, fire, water, earth, and wind spells. There are 2 other forms too, one being the spirit magic and other the void magic. Spirit magic is a diverse magic which counts also in summoning and enhancing magic, while the void magic is banned all over the continent.

The ranking of magic is simple. There are 5 tiers of magic namely starter tier, mediocre tier, advanced tier, master tier and disaster tier. Also each the first three tiers are divided into three segments of A, B and C. A and B branches are for offensive and defensive magics while the C branch is for non combating type spells which anyone can use freely. For eg. the mediocre tier A spell fire canon shoots out a burning magma rock which is quite lethal, but the same mediocre tier C has a spell called nimbolus, forms a floating cloud which can be used to transport light goods.

"Filios Elementus? is it the book of the famous traveller mage Mathew Filios?"

"Indeed it is. One of my family's heirlooms."

"Quite a powerful book you got there Assen, your spells might be on par with my strength!"

Gen and Mallen acknowledges the power of the gospel Assen held. Usually magic can only be casted with the help of a spell item. It is found in the forms of staff, wands and books. These spell items also have a tier and rarity as starter, mediocre, advanced, master and disaster level.

But there are some forms of magic that don't need a catalyst item, such as enhance magic and buff magic, but even mages that can use such magic prefer to keep a spell item to increase its potency.

Aside from this, few powerful individuals and entities have been seen to able to use magic without any spell item, like the current demon lord of Kingdom Thievens is said to be able to use all elemental magic up till master tier without a catalyst, with his bare hands. Though not much is known about the leader behind this huge and magnificent kingdom.

"Gen why don't you tell us about yourself. I'm sure the renowned student has some amazing power"

"huh."

Gen snorted at Assen, making him a little displeasured. Gen then proceeds to put his hands together, clasping each other. he then moves them away slowly, forming a dome like structure with his fingers, and slowly move apart.

Everyone was staring at Gen's hand in anticipation, and then they see it. Mist of dark fog starts to emerge within his right palm, and slowly a small black blade emerges.

"Woah.."

"What is this?"

Both Layn and kisa led their voices out in amazement. Gen then grabs the blade and says-

"This, is my magic."

"..."

After a moment of pause, Assen finally says

"Shadowmancy huh? First time seeing it up close"

"You work with shadows huh. You might be a trouble to deal with!"

Assen and Mallen also acknowledge Gen. Shadowmancy is a form of magic that deals with shadows. Not many people use this art of magic as it is hard to control and master. Usually assassins use this magic, and so there are close to zero magicians who specialize in this form. Also you don't need any spell item to evoke it.

There used to be one famous magician from the demon territory who specialized in shadowmancy and void magic long before the Great War even happened, but after the Great War no one knows what happened to him. and since void magic has been banned after the Great War, people figured that he either died or went into hiding.

"Uhm can I go ahead?"

Kisa shyly raises her hand and asks for permission. She still thinks she is the odd one out from the group, and somewhere in the mind is reluctant in mixing in with them.

"Sure thing"

"Go ahead"

"So basically uhm, I deal with summoning magic.."

Everyone looked at her, thinking how to react, they all nod and agree in acknowledgment. The lack of reaction almost made Kisa sweat a tear, but then Layn said-

"What kind of summoning can you do?"

"Mostly mediocre-tier magical beasts but I do have a trump card or two"

For summoning magic, you don't need a gospel. You need to somehow create evocations symbols and circles in order to summon something. The more complex the circle is, better the summon would be. Spell items such as summoning wands also increase potency. There are different types of summons such as magical beasts, elemental beasts, mythical beasts, rare mabeasts, etc.

"Why don't you tell us about that trump card?"

Layn casually asks Kisa because he was curious, but Kisa replies

"You look cleverer than you look Layn"

"Wha-"

"Haha! as expected from my comrade, spelling out secrets from the beginning!"

Everyone started to give each other cautious looks. Layn could see sparks of lightning colliding with each other's eyes. What the hell is going on, and then Layn realised. No one is giving out each other's real power. They don't want to discrete their identity, because they may be friends, but who knows for how long. How could Layn have misread the situation, he feels both scared and dumb.

"Now Layn, its your turn, tell us something interesting."

"I uh, I-"
