Chapter 30 Life in the Wild

"1000!" Yang Yu said as he thrust his spear forward. "You're quite good at this." Wang Haotian said, gazing at Yang Yu. "Well naturally, since I am your successor its no surprise that I am talented." Yang Yu joked, Wang Haotian smirking in response.

This was their third day after the incident and Wang Haotian's condition had improved tremendously. "So you still want to quit cultivation?" Yang Yu asked him as he walked towards the cave.

"I am sure, without my arm not only is my strength halved, my balance is off, my cultivation speed is lower, and half my techniques don't work, but I also lost my dignity." Wang Haotian replied as he stared at the sky.

"But your balance can be fixed, your strength can be rebuilt, your cultivation speed can be compensated for, and I have techniques if you really want them." Yang Yu stated as Wang Haotian chuckled.

"I know you're just trying to make me feel better, but its not possible. Firstly I doubt you have techniques that I can use, but even if you do, at best I can reach 90% of my former power, and even if I could get extra resources somehow, my speed will still fall by about 20%, which may seem trivial but considering I am, or at least, I was No.1 in the Inner Rankings, that drop in speed is deadly." He explained as Yang Yu sighed.

"Can you trust me? Didn't The Basics of the Sword work?" Yang Yu asked. "Its not that Junior, but how can I be taking from you time and time again? The only thing I've given you is my legacy, which could actually be a blessing and curse, with how burdensome it is." Wang Haotian answered as Yang Yu nodded.

"About that, what is your legacy?" Yang Yu asked, "Well apart from becoming the next Sect Leader." He continued as Wang Haotian began to contemplate. "My resources from the sect will be yours, you can take my Strength Enhancing Fruit, and you can have all my businesses, which make a profit of at least, hmmm 1000 Low Grade Spirit Stones, yearly." He stated as Yang Yu's jaw dropped.

The businesses along were more wealth than he thought he'd make in his entire lifetime. "But, I don't know the first thing about running a business." Yang Yu remarked as Wang Haotian chuckled. "Don't worry, considering I'll have nothing to do I'll run the businesses, also since my combat prowess has only dropped to about the 6th Level, I am still an Elite, so even without cultivating the Sect won't mind me leaching off, not only that, but my status as well." Wang Haotian assured Yang Yu.

"Okay then, but Senior, can you at least begin to cultivate again? Even if only a little?" Yang Yu pleaded as Wang Haotian finally gave way. "Fine, but only an hour a day maximum. Apart from that though, I will do nothing else." Wang Haotian stated firmly.

"Finally, take the Strength Enhancing fruit too, I can wait for the next batch." Yang Yu said. "No, no no no no no! I need you to be as strong as possible as quickly as possible, you need to not only be able to beat Xu Tianlong, but Jiang Long, and Xia Feng!" Wang Haotian declared as Yang Yu's mouth dropped.

"He's right you know." Yun Zhu added making Yang Yu tear up a bit. "I regret my life decisions." Yang Yu muttered making both Yun Zhu and Wang Haotian laugh.

"Anyway, now that that's settled, why don't you grab some food." Wang Haotian said as Yang Yu nodded. "Don't do anything stupid." Yang Yu replied before walking into the forest. Hearing this, Wang Haotian smiled before heading into the cave.

"That kid's mental fortitude is quite decent, in my day if that happened to someone, they'd probably just quit cultivation in general." Yun Zhu stated as Yang Yu moved through the forest.

"Ya, on a similar note, do you have any cultivation techniques he can use? Or attack techniques?" Yang Yu asked as he scanned the forest for prey. "Don't worry, I have two very fitting techniques for him." Yun Zhu replied.

Soon after Yang Yu found a massive Demon Beast Boar. 'Damn it, this is too easy.' Yang Yu thought as he inched towards the boar. Once he was 15 meters away from the boar, he lunged forward.

"1000 Mile Step!" He muttered as he instantly moved 15 meters forward, directly in front of the boar. "REEHHH!" It squealed as it locked eyes Yang Yu, but before it could even defend Yang Yu thrust his spear forward penetrating the boar's head killing it.

Due to the Immemorial Ice Technique, Yang Yu's strength was well above the average Body Refinement cultivator, coupled with his 1000 Mile Step, most Grade 1 Demon Beasts could barely fight him.

After that Yang Yu carried the boar towards the cave, and began to skin him. "You're quite good at this." Wang Haotian observed as he watched Yang Yu cut up the boar.

"Well I had decided to watch Zhao Shen a bit, and it seemed to have come in handy." Yang Yu replied, continuing to cut into the boar.

An hour or so later, Yang Yu finished cutting up the boar, and quickly set up a fire. While he was hunting he had grabbed some kindling so he wouldn't have to make 2 trips.

"A bit tasteless but it works." Yang Yu commented as he bit into the cooked pork. "Ya but who cares? This is only for a day or two more after all." Wang Haotian said as he continued to eat.

'I hope so.' Yang Yu thought as he stared at the sky. After settling at this hill, Yang Yu made a few structures to indicate their position. Considering the fact that they didn't diverge much from their original position, and the severity of the situation, the rescue team should be within the vicinity, considering they could fly on their Demon Beasts.

'The problem might be the Beast Tide.' Yang Yu thought as he gazed at Wang Haotian. Although on the surface he looked much better, Yang Yu knew without proper care and rest Wang Haotian wouldn't last another month, hopefully he wouldn't get to that point though.
