Chapter 31 Night Hunt

Days soon passed, and Wang Haotian's condition peaked, eventually he began to lose strength. "Its been a week now, any day they should be here." Wang Haotian stated as he clutched his side.

"Don't worry, they'll be here soon." Yang Yu replied, as he gazed at the sky. At this point Yang Yu had begun to lose hope too, then again, it had only been but a week.

'Lets just hope they don't get delayed too much.' Yang Yu thought. Later that day, Yang Yu went out to hunt for food, and made lunch. "Its already been a week, I hope they arrive soon." Wang Haotian groaned, while eating the food.

"So do I." Yang Yu replied while munching on the pork. Hog was the only animal he knew how to skin, so they had just been eating pork, day after day after day, and even Yang Yu began to grew tired of it.

'Back then I wouldn't have minded bread every day, but now I have a more, refined taste.' Yang Yu contemplated, before being interrupted by Yun Zhu's chuckles on the side.

'What's so funny?' Yang Yu thought as his eyes locked with Yun Zhu's. "Isn't this what you wanted? To train in the wild." Yun Zhu stated as Yang Yu shook his head. 'I regret my decision clearly, this journey wasn't worth it, Chen Feng was right about safety first.' Yang Yu thought as he finished his food.

Yang Yu his entire life took risks, sometimes working out, other times not, due to his failures he did indeed grow cautious but this was the first time he really failed.

'Well it doesn't matter, luckily there seems to be a group of hogs down here, or I don't know how we'd survive.' Yang Yu contemplated, as he tugged his robes in annoyance.

A bit later, Yang Yu began to train his spear, he couldn't neglect it as he was out and about, considering he was still a beginner. After that, Yang Yu put Wang Haotian to bed, and headed out.

'I need a bigger challenge.' He reasoned as he ran across the forest, the dark of night hiding his presence. Yang Yu continued to run across the forest, continually increasing in speed, while making sure to be as silent as possible.

A few minutes later he came upon a leopard, its fur dark blue in colour, and it spots pitch black. 'What is that?' Yang Yu thought questioningly as Yun Zhu pondered.

"A Night Leopard, at the Peak of Grade 1 as far as I can tell." Yun Zhu answered, hearing this Yang Yu nodded, as he quickly hid behind a tree.

The Night Leopard was a nocturnal animal meaning it hunted in the night, because of this, it was currently active and on the prowl. It soon began to rush through the forest as it headed into an unknown direction.

'Good thing I took a Beast Repellent.' Yang Yu reflected as he carefully followed the leopard from behind. Soon, two more beasts came into view, specifically two small rabbits. These were simply Grade 1 Rabbits, which one could find practically anywhere, in a forest.

Due to their decently quick speed, and small size they could roam almost anywhere, along with the fact that they reproduce very quickly most spots of the 10,000 Beasts Forest was littered with Rabbits.

'Mhmm! Even if I can't skin it well, I wouldn't mind having rabbit tomorrow.' Yang Yu thought as he closed in. Yang Yu soon saw the leopard, hiding in the darkness, waiting for its time to strike.

Seeing this Yang Yu did the same, taking tips from a professional wasn't wrong, at least that's what Yang Yu thought.

A few minutes later, the rabbits seemed to fall asleep within their burrow. The Leopard, though, continued to wait. Time soon passed, and Yang Yu noticed something, only now did the rabbits truly begin to sleep, before they were on alert in case of a predator but seeing as they weren't attacked, they slept comfortably.

The Night Leopard had other plans, seeing the rabbits asleep it pounced forward, and immediately shot its claws through the dirt grabbing the rabbits, before moving to bite their heads off.

Before it could do so though, a dark object pierced through the air towards the leopard. Sensing the danger, the Leopard quickly dashed forward, throwing away the frightened rabbits, which immediately scurried off.

'Damn it!' Yang Yu thought as he gazed at his lunch running away. 'I guess I'll have leopard instead.' He reasoned as he gazed at the Leopard. Plunged in its back was Midnight, this was good and bad for Yang Yu.

This was bad cause he clearly didn't have a weapon now, but it was good because it reduced the Leopard's mobility. 'A fist fight will work.' Yang Yu thought, staring down the Leopard.

The distance between the two was about 50 meters, no even less than that. At this distance Yang Yu could reach the Leopard in about 3 seconds at full speed, but there was no guarantee another Demon Beast wouldn't get involved, or that the Leopard wouldn't just run away.

A few seconds later, Yang Yu began to inch towards the Leopard, as it stood its ground, its stance indicating it would run any minute. 'Dumb beast.' Yang Yu mused. The more time that passed the less strength the Leopard had, yet it continued to stare Yang Yu down.

About 1 minute after Yang Yu threw Midnight, he shot forward immediately using 1000 Mile Step, and closing the gap by 15 meters. The Leopard seeing this turn to ran, but before it could even begin Yang Yu had closed the gap by another 20 meters.

By the time it ran away 5 meters, Yang Yu had reached its rear, grabbed Midnight, and retrieved it causing blood to spray everywhere, the Leopard immediately fell to the ground, as it groaned in pain.

"Too easy." Yang Yu noted, as he walked towards the fallen Leopard. "Night night." Yang Yu said before thrusting Midnight into the Leopard's neck. 'Hopefully I can carry this back and not alert any beasts.' Yang Yu thought before shaking his head.

'I could just put it in the Crimson Steel Ring.' He reasoned before tapping the Leopard and sending it into the ring. Yun Zhu on the other hand wasn't very pleased.

'Each and every day, my little abode is getting more and more crowded.' The old man thought as he looked out side his house, his front garden was full of items.
