The Two Brothers

A silver car with two passengers passed by the security gate and went through to one of the most exclusive neighbourhoods in City K.

Han Yingjie glanced at his little brother who had his eyes focused on the phone playing games.

Surprisingly, it was little Rui who spoke up first when Yingjie remained silent.

"Say, big brother. Do you think big sister will be alright?"

Yingjie arched his eyebrows, eyes twinkling with amusement. "You think Yuelin will be in trouble?"

A huff answered Yingjie.

"That's not what I meant." Eyes still glued to the phone, little Rui continued. "Big brother, did you notice? Ever since big sister woke up, even without memories, it's like there is something different about big sister..."

"Different?" Yingjie asked in an interested tone. "How?"

"Mmm.. Big sister eats a lot now. Like, a lot. Sometimes she asks to eat my share too. Big sister is also kind of.. talkactive? Although the way she said her words were often weird."

"High appetite is good for a recovering patient."

Little Rui shook his head. "Anyhow, don't you think big sister acts more.. more like a kid now?"

"You are still a kid too."

"No way! I'm going to graduate from elementary school soon, so I'm unofficially a young adult."

Chuckling lightly, Yingjie used his left hand to ruffle little Rui's hair.

"It's not unusual for someone who suffers memory lost to behave like that. There are cases when surviving patient ended up having a complete opposite personality compared to how they were before. Moreover, there are some unfortunate ones who can't ever recover their memories for the rest of their life because they don't even have a chance to wake up from the coma at all."

Little Rui paused in his seat, trying to process what his brother said.

Han Yingjie stared at the road ahead, his mind elsewhere. "I'm really, really glad when Yuelin opened her eyes again."

"Besides..." Yingjie took a look at little Rui who still wore his sailor uniform and couldn't suppress his lip from twitching. "Young adults didn't ditch their school to sneak into his big brother's car."

"!!!!!"

Yingjie mouthed the word: "Kid."

"Big Brother, don't be mean! I just want to send off Big Sister too." Little Rui's attention returned back to his phone. "Oh, crap. I lost."

"Language." Yingjie warned.

Seeing he was being ignored, Yingjie let out a helpless sigh. "Rather than worrying about your game, you need to think about what to tell Mom."

"!!!!!"

The car stopped in front of a double two-story house.

A figure stood ready at the gate terrace that made little Rui instantly flinched when he saw who was waiting there.

Upon spotting a familiar car, the figure quickly approached the passenger side where little Rui sat and opened the door.

Mother bellowed at him. Her voice sounded scarier than an enraged boss in the game's dungeon he had just played.

"HAN YONGRUI. You better give me a good reason as to why your teached called and told me that you skipped all your classes today."

Big brother, save me ah!

Poor little Rui didn't feel so lucky now XD

From what I remembered reading, Yongrui has the meaning of 'forever lucky.' Before I typed another chapter, I'm off to slay zombies from eating my plants and watch a certain drama where the female lead acts like an AI robot. Ciao!
