Of Four Scholarly Arts

Area H, Faculty of Design and Creative Industry, S University.

If the university's dorm had a touch of vintage to it, then the faculty building in front of Yuelin was straight out modern and gigantic.

What distracted Yuelin the most was however, not the people milling about and talking to one another familiarly, but the way most of them held themshelves.

They didn't merely walk. Their steps radiated confidence and assurance. As if this was a stage and every eyes was on them.

Now that she thought about it, Yuelin glanced at Aoning who also had a certain poise when she talked and guided her around.

Men and women are equal here, Yuelin knew that.

In a long distant past, the sorceress inside her was used to this show of appearance because she had people who revered her and her power despite being born a girl.

Such special treatment, she foolishly took it for granted.

Eventually, when the tide turned against her, she was caught so unprepared and her life ended up perished under the hand that was supposed to nurture her.

Yuelin shook her head to clear the not-so-pretty illusion. Those flashbacks were giving her headache every time they surfaced.

She was determined to bury her past.

Forgive and forget.

No more magic, no more bloody war, and most importantly, no more stabbing in the back.

Easy. One step at a time.

She was the new Han Yuelin. From when she woke up in this body, she would make the best of everything while remained standing using her own two feets.

"Hey, why the serious face? Are you ready to meet our advisor?" Aoning asked with a teasing tone. "Professor Liu will be glad to see you again. You gave him quite a fright last semester. He was very frantic when he visited you in the hospital."

"Really?"

Her friend stared at her for a full five seconds before decided to comment. "It makes sense. You probably weren't aware. But many people, mostly students in our year, some seniors, and several lecturers came over during your stay in hospital."

"Am I that famous?" Yuelin joked.

A flash of sadness appeared in Aoning's eyes before it quickly vanished, making Yuelin wondered if she must have imagined it.

"Yeah, a lot of people will have no problem recognizing you in our department."

Sensing a little shift in the mood, Aoning quickly changed the topic as they hiked up the nearest stair to reach the second floor.

"We are actually quite early. This way, we don't need to queue long to meet Professor Liu and have our classes confirmed right away!"

Contrary to the lively atmosphere at the main entrance, a deserted corridor met them upstair.

"Don't get tricked. It might look so quiet now, but it will be chaos once the new semester starts. Mark my words."

Aoning jogged forward. "God knows how many times we ran around this corridor to handout studio works and hunt down lectures for revision's signature."

They came to a stop at a wide door where number 204 was carved elegantly on top with the room's name beside it.

204 - Department of Visual Arts: Lecturer's Office.

Yes. Out of many field of studies, Yuelin had to be a student of this particular department. A department where drawing skill was practically a basic requirement, among other things.

The former her had learned about the four scholarly arts and painting was definitely the subject she was most sucked at. Still is.

Such skill was born from continued practice. Yuelin doubted she could suddenly master the skill overnight, even with this body.

She looked at her fingers helplessly. She would make it up. Somehow.

Aoning moved to grab the handle. But before her hand could touch the metal, the door flew open so fast it almost slammed right into the poor girl's body.

Luckily, a tragedy was barely avoided.

Yuelin who was right beside her, wasn't as fortunate though.

One moment Yuelin was standing, and the next her ass was flat on the floor.

Pain registered amidst the shock. Aside from a sore bottom, Yuelin's forehead likely developed a red bum right now.

A hand materialized from above her, followed by a deep voice laced with worry.

"I'm sorry, are you all right?"

Grimacing, Yuelin lifted her eyes to see the assailant's face. But what met her gaze instead was possibly the bluest eyes she had ever seen.
