"Kairan: Surviving in the Modern World" CHAPTER 16

Since this morning Ash starts to follow me everywhere I go it's uncomfortable and irritating but I also know that giving him some attention and talking to him will only waste my time and effort so I did nothing and just tried my best to ignore his presents, act like I didn't see or hear him.

It was already noon but no one came to our class to teach us so I decided to take a stroll around the 5th floor and like I said Ash is following me and this other guy, his name is Roy.

Early this morning after the commotion Baal decides to give me escorts, two persons a day, the class consists of 22 males and of course me the only female my escort will rotate so that everyone has their chance but what is the big deal on having a girl in their class? I mean yeah—I'm the one and only girl here and so? Why do I need escorts? It almost feels like a princess and her imperial knights and I don't have good memories about knights.

I told Ash and Roy to wait outside because they both planned to go inside the female restroom. I really don't understand Ash and why he acts like this after what he did at the hospital. Is that some sort of tactic to spy on me? Is he trying to test me if I have regained my memories already? Do I need to be cautious on how he acts? I don't know, But first I need to talk to Baal.

I am now inside of the cubicle, thankfully the toilet is clean and has a cover so that I can sit down, I just sits there to rest my feet, I try my best to find some area where I can sit but nothing, or I'm that stupid to think that there will be some benches? Every floor has huge the rooms, the hallway and facilities like this so I thou—

"Did you hear about it? Class-9E finally gets their Queen" – girl 1

I'm busy doing stuff when I heard two girls start talking about Class-9E and again that 'Queen' thing.

"She's Lucky yet unfortunate" – girl 2

Then they both laugh, what do they mean about that? 

"Having those fine and meaty men is really a good thing but dealing with women who want them? I wish her luck" – girl 2

They take a while before leaving but I stay because my feet still hurt. I don't know how long I've been here but I heard some girl start screaming. 

"Miss Kairen?!"

  I heard someone's voice but I didn't bother to answer them. I just wanted to rest a bit but they don't even give me some peace? What the hell.

"Kairen honey, are you here?"

Is that Ash? I told them to wait outside, right? They are here?! They even start to open each cubicle one by one until they open mine, not to mention they broke the lock, I just sit there and stare at both of them. I don't know why but they blushed and looked away immediately and immediately left like they were embarrassed or something. 

I wear my shoes again and leave, Roy is behind me while Ash looks spaced out for some reasons. This time I decided to go back to class to talk to Baal.

We reached the room faster than I thought. I opened the door and saw a teacher perhaps in front of the class and she's staring at me with confusion and irritation on her face.

"What brings you here miss?"

She asked me in polite sentences but with an unpleasant face reaction.

"This is my class"

I said and entered the room without asking for her permission and sat on my spot. I think she's not a teacher, I saw Xebec staring at me. I smiled at him but he looked away. Wait! Did I really smile at him? I—I--- I'm so stupid!

"So you are the rumored Queen of Class-9E?"

She paused and stared at me head to toe like checking what is special about me.

"I don't see anything that makes you a Queen"

She said and crossed her arms. I'm not particularly interested in her or what she's blabbing about so I just stare outside of the window looking at the view and clouds. I don't know who she is but to give me that kind of attitude? She's not that beautiful though.

I didn't notice that she's pretty near from where I was.

"My name is Thasia Rein from Class-8D"

She said and stood there while staring at me, I just stared at her too but after a while I looked away to find Baal, he looked worried at me, no actually most of the looked really worried and pissed at the same time.

It's been a minute and I'm waiting for her to leave but she didn't.

"You lost your way?"

I tried my best to speak casually like asking an ordinary question but her face is already saying that she doesn't like the way I speak. I just sigh, why do people always get me wrong? Upon asking that, some of my classmates started laughing and giggling.

"Trying to act cool in front of them?"

She said and chuckled.

"You said that you're from Class-8D right?"

"Yes and so what?"

  "But you're in the Class-9E"

I said then the whole class starts laughing louder than before. Thasia starts yelling saying to stop laughing at her and her face turns red. The room now has a joyful noise of males. I was staring at them and unconsciously smiled.

/Announcement to all students! We're looking for Miss Kairen S--- dude! Hold them—again we're looking for Miss Kairen Sai my friend Silver is looking for you desperately--- wait I'm almost done!—meet him in front of gate after class--- he said he misse--- dude I'm jok--\

What was that? I don't really understand, but everyone is staring at me. I stood up but this girl stood in my way. I'm planning to talk to Baal but before that it looks like I need to deal with this Thasia girl right here.

"It's will be good for you if leave now"

"And why would I?" -Thasia

"Look here kiddo, I'm saying this for your own good" 

And look at Ash who is glaring at her right now. 

Without having a second thought she walks out right away that makes the class laugh.

"Baal, I have some question"

He nods as an answer and pulls a chair and tells to sit down by actions.

"First, what's that? That announcement?"

"I don't really know, but that voice definitely belongs to Draven, he is the most talented hacker within the campus that I know, he can hack even that phone of yours and use files and things inside of it to framed up you"

Draven? I heard that somewhere. Oh! I remember! 

A hacker? That hacker is Silvestre's friend? If I am not mistaken he is the guy waiting for us last time right? I heard that Silvestre called him Draven, if that's the case I need to make him mine.

"Are you going to meet that Silver?" – Baal

"Yeah I know him, he help me when I came here for enrollment"

"I see—Is that all?" -- Baal

"No—I want to know what's so special about that Queen thing and being the only girl in the class?"

"You don't know?"

"Nah, actually I don't know anything, I got involved to an accident recently that caused me to lost my memories"

Of course that's a lie, but on Kairen's memories I don't know, and it didn't mention even once, about this university and that Queen thing.

"Then how did you get into this university and especially at Class numbers?"

"I got recommendation from my parents" 

I said and shrugged my shoulders.

"sigh—let me explain, in this University we have four buildings, east, west, south and north, each building has its own categories. The Classes of Numbers, that's us. The Classes of Letters, Classes of Roman Numbers and the Class of the Ancient Letters"

He said while making weird gestures. Like pointing here and there, waving his hands here and there.

"What's the connection of that on the Queen thing?"

  I asked and he blushed a little.

"Look, I'm explaining everything to you from the start so don't complain!"

I can help but laugh at him, I remember how Reiko looked when we're with mom and dad.

"I'm sorry if Baal is acting like that, you know, he is good at being a leader but really sucks when it comes to explaining stuff."

Someone interferes while we're talking. I looked at him and it was Xebec.

"Hey take that back!" – Baal

"I don't want to" – Xebec

"And why? I'm talking to Kairen right now. Get lost!" – Baal

"So I cannot get involved?" – Xebec

They start arguing with each other and no one wants to give up.

"Kairen honey, if you have something to ask just ask me you don't need to talk to this trash" – Ash

Ohh here's another one.

"Who are you calling trash?!"

Both Xebec and Baal said at the same time and with the same tone of voice.

"Stop copying me!"

Again they said it at the same time.

And three of them arg ued at the same time, they looked like kids.

"I see three of you is that close"

"NO! WE'RE NOT!"

They said at the same time. I can't help but to laugh.
