Waking up while drooling onto his desk and rubbing the sleep out of his eyes. Maybe even to his co-worker's amusement. That was what he expected when waking up.
What he didn't expect was to be born again while fully conscious of his former life. The first thing he realized, was that his thought process was clearer than before.
That and the fact that he has a small library worth of knowledge crammed into his head. Upon realization, he stilled and concentrated on the knowledge that specified every little detail of two spaceships, a device to alter human DNA and a futuristic gun.
Still in denial, he looked around the room he was in and spotted a droid handling the last measures of his birth. Even further from him were different coloured humanoids with unfamiliar appendages on their bodies. Those were definitely not of a species he thought existed.
While he tried to reason with himself, the whole situation felt far too real to be a dream. Did he have to live his life in another universe now? Feeling restless, as he was handed around inside the cold interior of the medical bay, his sight became blurry. Obviously, a new-born wouldn't be full of energy, regardless which universe he was in. With his strength leaving him, he began to drift into sleep as his vision darkened once again.
Thinking back about how he ended up in this new and foreign environment, he let out a sigh while putting away the data pad he was working on. Sure, he didn't have many close people left in his old life, but it wasn't like he was on his own either. But thinking about it would gain him nothing as he was sure they were long dead by the time he could manage to find a way back.
It has now been 16 years since he ended up in the Star Wars universe and it was equally exciting as it was frightening. Who wouldn't dream of exploring a fictional universe, especially one that one admired since young? And to be honest, he had lots of fun so far.
On the other hand, he had to be careful not to act how he would have in his old world. At least not until he had a plan to fall back onto. A plan called "build up knowledge and experience to fully use the granted talents, build the most ridiculous spaceship, recruit and train a very capable crew and lastly design a few ridiculous droids that can even crush force users".
Truth to be told, this plan couldn't be achieved in just a few months, and he still had to learn a lot before he could start on achieving it, but it was worth to stay to himself and go on adventures later. Given he couldn't avoid every little danger lurking around him, but that was something he could accept far easier than getting on the radar of Palpatine or even the Jedi Council.
Therefore he pleunged himself into working on his plan, that he could leave this place when he would ne somewhere between 16 and 18 years old.
Despite his fears, everything went pretty well so far aside from the occasional scuffle with a Toydarian or Dug when bartering for rare materials. The only downside to his reincarnation was that he already was on his own a few years after his birth.
His new name was Valin Beruss, named after his father Jula Beruss. His father was a shrewd businessman that oftentimes put his fingers where they didn't belong. He was involved in mining operations on Tatooine, deals between the Trade Federation and the Hutts and a lot more. While this alone was already dangerous enough, he got greedy and filled his own pockets more than was acceptable for his business partners. In the end this was his undoing.
While Jula was greedy, he was not an idiot and could predict something like this happening in the future. Consequently, he hired a beautiful woman to birth himself a child that could inherit his money. In no way could he have accepted to throw it at whoever came after him. He just was a weird man like that. Gambling with his life while gaining as many benefits as he could was not something everyone would do.
Sometimes Valin thought if it was who- or whatever brought him into this world. A thought he planned to follow in the future. For now he had other worries that were far more important.
It has been years since his father's death now and Valin is close to finishing all his preparations. He took all the money they had saved, which amounted to a few hundred million credits and took shelter in a long forgotten underground shipyard in the desert of Tatooine.
Equipped with only his mind, knowledge, a big bunch of credits and an old freighter, he started to make himself a home in the shipyard that just fit his requirements. At first, he scavenged a few materials and equipped the freighter with cloaking technology.
In the following months, he made countless trips to buy everything he could ever need from different sources. At least a hundred building and construction droids, medical droids, droids to help him with administrate work and more. After a general overhaul of these droids, to make sure they were loyal to only him, he set them to work on repairing the shipyard while he himself concentrated on working at the blueprints of his future ship.
Considering all the different technology he wanted to have on board and the original designs, it ended up even bigger than expected. Its length was close to 1.000 meters while its width was around 1.500 meters. He chose the overall design of the Scimitar, while combining its technology with that of the aurora class battleships.
To achieve this, he firstly had to rearrange the interior of the Scimitar. He included a comparably small hangar with a square area of 150 to 100 meters. He reduced the number of quarters for his future crew to 50 since he wasn't in need of more than a rather small team. Star Wars had the benefit of droids that could handle varied chores and tasks and at the same time were very space efficient.
The quarters for his crew were small apartments, since they would spend a lot time in space or the ship in the future. His own quarters were bigger with an adjacent room serving as laboratory and workshop. He still had a few projects in mind and wanted a place he could work at whenever something took his interest.
In the centre of the ship was probably one of the safest locations, designed to even withstand lightsabres. It was where he would build the DNA resequencer and even if it was unlikely someone would understand and could utilize it, he wanted to keep it a secret for only himself and a select few, namely his crewmates. He wouldn't want potential guests or visitors to know about it.
The energy system used would be the original reactor from the Scimitar supplemented by Zero Point Modules from the aurora class when there was a spike in consumption. Without any unforeseen circumstances, the ship would be able to operate for hundreds of thousands of years with minimal maintenance.
His captain seat on the bridge of the ship would be the control chair of the Ancients with which he would be able to control four batteries with two-hundred drones each. Like the original Scimitar, it was equipped with 52 pulse disruptor cannons, 27 photon torpedo launchers and while it was overkill, the thalaron cascading biogenic pulse weapon.
Furthermore, the ship was equipped with primary and secondary shields and a highly advanced cloaking technology to stay hidden even when the shields were active and the weapons in use. All in all, when the Zero Point Modules were in use, nearly nothing short of the Death Star could destroy this ship.
Since travelling between ships and planets, as well as boarding hostile ships was a necessity it was equipped with tractor beams and technology to transport individuals anywhere on the ship to and from their destination.
The senses of the ship were able to pick up any known signals, as long as they weren't perfectly hidden.
Combining the best of both ships with each other managed to create a masterful designed spaceship, that would make even Palpatine salivate if he knew of it.
By now he was only missing a few more materials and parts he commissioned to finally set the finishing touches and being able to leave this damn dry planet.
Thinking until there, Valin picked up his two particle magnums and put them into the holsters beneath his arms. Afterwards he sheathed a long dagger onto the small of his back and threw on his black coat as he made his way towards the freighter.
This time he would go in person instead of only sending droids. The other party contracted for the acquisition and transport of the materials was an infamous group of Old Mandalorians that worked as mercenaries around Hutt space.
The reason for him going personally this time was to see if he could persuade them to join under his command and finally start his own crew with capable people that would have his back.
With one last grin he started the freighter and took of after cloaking it from unsuspecting eyes. His destination? Mos Eisley, the Cantina Bar!
Pretty much (maybe boring) info in this one and a big time skip, but I am not a fan of long childhood stories and only training. The character will gain more depth as he interacts with other individuals. Like described earlier, he was pretty isolated for the first few years and will start meeting people soon, since only the fininshing touches are left on his ship. (Might have been a bit confusing inside the chapter) The discord invite is in the summary if you want to join. Have a nice day!
