General Pov
After the intense sparring session, the X-Men and Spider-Man gathered around the dining table to rest and have lunch. Charles took the opportunity to ask Spider-Man a question.
"Can you tell us more about the incredibly powerful beings you mentioned about?" Charles inquired.
Spider-Man nodded and began to explain, "On Earth, we have Mutants or meta-humans, which includes us. One of the most powerful mutants is Apocalypse, rumored to be the first mutant. His main ability is Bio-Molecular Alteration. He possesses an array of superhuman attributes like strength, speed, stamina, endurance, agility, and reflexes. Additionally, he has powers of energy and matter manipulation, flight, immortality, invulnerability, and telekinesis. Another powerful figure is Mr. Sinister, who is an expert genetic manipulator and surgeon. He can shapeshift, has long-term precognition, and is extremely long-lived."
Spider-Man continued, "Then we have the Inhumans, who were created through experiments conducted by the Kree, an extraterrestrial civilization. The Inhumans reside on our moon, and their leader is Black Bolt. His power is a devastating quasi-sonic scream, making it impossible for him to speak without causing destruction."
He went on, "Other extraterrestrial civilizations have also visited Earth. Asgard is a long-lived civilization, often referred to as gods. The most powerful Asgardians include Odin, the King of Asgard, Frigga, the Queen of Asgard, Thor, Odin's first son, Loki, Odin's second son, and Heimdall, the gatekeeper of the Bifrost. The Skrulls are another dangerous shapeshifting civilization capable of causing havoc by impersonating anyone they desire."
Spider-Man added, "We also have sorcerers who have protected Earth from invading demons and other powerful beings since ancient times. They play a crucial role in preserving our world."
Pausing for a moment, Spider-Man's tone turned solemn. "Lastly, there are beings so powerful that speaking their names gives them power. They possess the ability to destroy universes. However, the sorcerers and Asgard serve as a deterrent to them."
As Spider-Man finished sharing information about these powerful beings, the team couldn't help but feel a sense of their own weaknesses. However, their thoughts were interrupted by Logan, who broke the silence.
"We may be weak, but that doesn't make us cowards. This serves as a reminder that we must never allow arrogance to cloud our judgment," Logan asserted.
Charles nodded in agreement and chimed in, "Indeed, we must always strive to become better versions of ourselves."
Curiosity got the better of Iceman, who broke the tension with a seemingly random question. "By the way, Spider-Man, how old are you?" The entire team turned to look at him, astonished by his timing.
"Well, I'm younger than all of you here," Spider-Man replied, sensing their underlying curiosity despite their attempts to conceal it.
"What!!!?" Everyone on the table exclaimed while looking at Spider-Man as if he had just admitted something impossible.
"Why are you all looking at me like that?" Spider-Man asked them feeling uncomfortable under their stares.
"Well, you just sound too mature, calm and knowledgeable. We expected you to be older than most of us. You admitting that you are younger than even Robert is quite surprising to us." Said Storm.
"If you are younger than us, then what caused you to become a hero?" Piotr asked curiously.
"Well, it was my uncle who caused me to become a hero when he told before his death that with great power comes great responsibility. I have lived by this principle since that hearing them from him." Spider-man said to them, and they can all sense the respect, love and sadness talking of his uncle caused him.
"It seems like your uncle was a really good man and I am sorry for your loss. Just remember that you are now part of us, and you are always welcome here no matter what." Charles said to him sympathetically with the others also nodding along.
" Thank you everyone for offer. I will make sure to not abuse it and I can finally have new training buddies." Spider-Man said sounding happy.
"More like beating us black and blue." Joked Jean which causes everyone to let out small chuckles.
After that, everyone continued eating their meals and also engaging in small conversations to pass the time.
Charles's Pov
After finishing our meal, we headed to the danger room to finish our sparring.
"Who wants to go next?" Logan asked as we reach the danger room.
"I want to try." Jean raised her hand after hesitating for some time.
"Okay. You know the drill, first hand-to-hand combat and then power combat. You fight after I said so." Logan said to them while I change the environment for their battle.
The hand-to-hand combat lasted as long as Scott's and Bobby's.
The power combat on the other was quite the watch.
Jean, her emerald eyes shimmering with telepathic power, focuses her attention on Spider-Man, her gaze penetrating his thoughts. She reaches out with her psychic tendrils, attempting to unravel the intricate web of his mind and exploit any weaknesses she can find, but it seems like she can't even pass his first layer of defense.
I can sense that Jean amplified her telepathic assault, increasing the strength of her psychic probes but it is the same as before, no reaction from Spider-Man which goes to show how strong his mental defenses are.
Realizing that her telepathic assault has no effect on Spider-Man, Jean shiftted her strategy, calling upon her telekinetic abilities. As her outstretched hand trembles with power, the environment around them trembles in response. Objects begin to levitate, swirling in a mesmerizing dance of destruction. Cars, street signs, and chunks of concrete become her telekinetic arsenal.
With a forceful gesture, Jean hurtles the objects toward Spider-Man, their deadly trajectories tracing a path of destruction through the air. Spider-Man's reflexes kick into high gear as he dives, rolls, and flips, navigating the battlefield with an uncanny blend of agility and grace. He swings from web-lines, narrowly evading the onslaught, relying on some sixth sense to guide his movements and anticipate each incoming projectile.
He leaps high into the air, a red and blue blur against the moonlit backdrop, before descending upon Jean with a rapid and acrobatic assault. His fists connect with precision and force, each strike a testament to his superhuman strength and combat prowess.
Jean, her focus disrupted, briefly falters under Spider-Man's relentless assault. But she immediately channels her telekinetic powers once more forming a shield around her causing Spider-man's punches to have no effect on her.
But he was unbothered as he increased the ferocity of his attacks by channeling his bioelectric powers which caused Jean's shield to crack, but Jean was not one to be easily defeated. With a wave of her hand, the ground beneath Spider-Man erupted, causing him to lose his footing. Seizing the opportunity, she unleashed a torrent of debris, hurling it towards him with precision. However, Spider-Man's quick reflexes allowed him to create an electric shield, deflecting the projectiles and causing them to crash harmlessly to the ground.
Undeterred, Spider-Man countered with a relentless barrage of bioelectric bolts, each one aimed at exploiting the smallest opening in Jean's defense. She formed a telekinetic barrier around herself, attempting to shield against the onslaught. However, the constant bombardment overwhelmed her, causing cracks to form in her barrier.
A stray bolt of bioelectricity managed to slip through Jean's weakened defense, striking her with a powerful jolt.
The battle came to an abrupt halt as Jean Grey fell to the ground, momentarily incapacitated by the relentless barrage of Spider-Man's bioelectric attacks. The room fell silent, the tension thick in the air as we all held our breaths, waiting to see how Jean would recover.
Slowly, Jean began to stir, her green eyes flickering open. She rose to her feet, her determination evident as she regained her composure. With renewed focus, she tapped into her telekinetic powers once more, creating a swirling vortex of energy around her.
Spider-Man, undeterred by her recovery, continued to press the attack. He utilized his agility to dart and weave around Jean's telekinetic assault, landing precise strikes whenever an opportunity presented itself.
The battle reached a crescendo as Jean's telekinetic powers clashed with Spider-Man's electrical attacks. The room reverberated with the impact of their attacks, and the air crackled with an electrifying energy.
In a final act of desperation, Jean channeled her telepathic abilities, attempting to infiltrate Spider-Man's mind and disrupt his focus. However, Spider-Man's mental defenses held strong, his mind fortified against her telepathic assault.
With a burst of determination, Spider-Man unleashed a final flurry of punches, connecting with unwavering precision. Jean's defenses crumbled under the onslaught, and she collapsed to the ground, her energy depleted.
"That was beautiful and terrifying to watch. What a great match." I exclaimed while everyone else was still thinking back to that beautiful battle we just witnessed.
" I honestly don't know what to say. I wasn't expecting that." Storm said while looking at the previously pristine environment which now looks unrecognizable.
" Well, I think I was enjoying the fight way too much." Jean said while laughing happily which caused us to look at her incredulously.
" I enjoyed it too. I have never had such challenging spars before. Thanks for giving me this opportunity but I think I should get going because it is getting late, and I have some hero work to do. The rest shouldn't worry, I will be visiting very often from now on to keep you on your toes." Spider-man said to us, and I can certainly say that this day was a great day.
" Better keep your promise." Scott said to him as we headed out of the danger room.
"I will and bye guys. See you later." Spider-man replied back having reached the outside and immediately shot a web to a tree and disappear into the horizon.
"Bye too. It was nice to meet you." Shouted Robert.
" He is a strong and good guy." Logan said to us which was followed by nods of agreement from everyone.
" Till next time Spider-Man" I telepathically said to him through a link he left behind in case of emergencies.
" You too Charles." He replied back cutting the connection.
" What a great day." I sighed as I returned back to mansion to go take of some issues.
