Logan's Pov
The moment I laid eyes on Spider-Man, I felt an absence of danger or suspicion, which was unusual considering my instincts when meeting new people, especially mutants. However, Charles vouched for him, and after chatting with Spider-Man, I found him to be a likable and trustworthy individual. His offer to help me regain my lost memories further solidified my trust in him.
I suggested a spar with Spider-Man to test his abilities, and the team agreed. We entered the Danger Room, and I asked who wanted to go first. Scott stepped up to face Spider-Man.
Charles modified the Danger Room into an arena setting, and both Scott and Spider-Man stepped onto the simulated battleground.
"On my count, you'll start with hand-to-hand combat, and then you'll fight using your powers. Ready? 1, 2, 3, go," I announced.
The fight began with Scott rushing towards Spider-Man, launching a punch. I was surprised when Spider-Man effortlessly caught Scott's arm. However, Scott remained composed, countering with a well-executed leg attack.
As they continued exchanging blows, it became apparent that Spider-Man had the upper hand. Despite his lesser battle experience, he possessed superior physical strength compared to Scott. Spider-Man's attack strength remained consistent, a sign of a skilled fighter. His measured strikes demonstrated restraint to avoid causing harm. On the other hand, Scott began panting and sweating, clearly fatigued and losing ground.
Spider-Man eventually managed to knock Scott down, signaling the end of the hand-to-hand combat phase and the start of the powers combat.
Before initiating the power combat, Spider-Man informed us that he wouldn't be using his telepathy. It was agreed upon, as it would render the fight meaningless if Scott was incapacitated before using his powers.
"On my count, start the power combat. 1, 2, 3, begin," I declared.
Scott unleashed his optic blasts at Spider-Man, who effortlessly dodged them, countering with electric currents of his own.
Two minutes later, Scott was left breathless on the floor while Spider-Man stood seemingly unfazed. It was astonishing that Scott's optic blasts had no effect on the suit Spider-Man wore, demonstrating its impressive defensive capabilities.
Witnessing Spider-Man's victory, I could tell that most of us were in for a challenging spar against him. Up next was Robert, and his hand-to-hand combat lasted just as long as Scott's.
Their power combat match proved to be equally exhilarating.
Iceman launched icy projectiles towards Spider-Man, who evaded with uncanny precision, utilizing his acrobatic skills to maneuver through the air. Spider-Man countered with lightning-fast strikes infused with bioelectricity, capitalizing on his strength and agility.
Iceman retaliated by creating ice barriers and freezing the ground, attempting to restrict Spider-Man's movements. However, Spider-Man's quick reflexes and agility allowed him to adapt, using his web-shooters to swing and evade obstacles.
Spider-Man employed a combination of martial arts and web-based attacks, aiming to immobilize Iceman and exploit his vulnerabilities. His kicks and punches were precise, aiming to disrupt Iceman's concentration and weaken his defenses.
Iceman fought back by encasing Spider-Man's limbs in ice, seeking to immobilize him. Yet, Spider-Man's flexibility and raw strength allowed him to break free, shattering the ice with a burst of energy.
As the battle progressed, Iceman tapped into his full potential, creating massive ice constructs and manipulating the environment. Spider-Man adapted, using his web-traps and electric power to entangle Iceman momentarily.
The fight reached its climax as both combatants unleashed their powers and skill. Spider-Man appeared to possess a sixth sense, anticipating Iceman's attacks with precise evasions and counterstrikes. Iceman retaliated with a relentless ice barrage and an icy storm, but Spider-Man's bio-electric shield and an electric bolt caught Iceman off guard, resulting in his defeat.
"Wow! That was intense," I commented, receiving nods of agreement from my teammates.
"I've never had a fight quite like that. Thanks, man," Robert said, his disheveled hair sticking out in every direction as he playfully tapped Spider-Man on the shoulder.
"Yeah, I enjoyed the fight. Thanks," Spider-Man replied.
The next fight was between Storm and Spider-Man, a matchup that promised to be intriguing.
During the hand-to-hand combat, their exchanges lasted longer than the previous two fights, showcasing their skill and resilience.
Their power combat proved to be even more captivating. Storm summoned powerful gusts of wind, creating a whirlwind of debris. Spider-Man, relying on his heightened senses, deftly navigated through the chaotic winds, using his strength and speed to dodge Storm's attacks. He closed the distance, delivering lightning-fast strikes enhanced by his electric power.
Storm retaliated, conjuring a wall of rain to obscure Spider-Man's vision and limit his movements. She called forth bolts of lightning, attempting to strike him down. However, Spider-Man's agility allowed him to evade the bolts.
As the battle intensified, Storm unleashed a torrential downpour, summoning sheets of rain to restrict Spider-Man's visibility. She conjured powerful gusts of wind to sweep him off his feet. Yet, Spider-Man adapted, using his bioelectricity to create shields and anchors, countering Storm's assault.
The fight reached its peak as both combatants pushed their powers to the limit. Storm called forth a devastating lightning storm, filling the sky with crackling energy. Spider-Man, channeling his electric power, delivered powerful blows, causing Storm to falter. A well-timed punch brought her down, signaling Spider-Man's victory.
We were all stunned by Spider-Man's takedown of Storm, realizing that he had been holding back his strength throughout the fights.
"Man, how strong are you?" I asked, to which he responded with a shrug.
"I've never encountered someone who could beat me yet, but I know there are far stronger beings in the universe. Some could kill me without lifting a finger. My teacher is among them," he added, revealing the existence of even greater powers that could dwarf our own.
"Don't worry, they don't concern themselves with us. To them, we're like ants," he reassured us, diverting our attention from the grave implications of his statement.
"Let's grab something to eat, and we can continue sparring later," Charles suggested, attempting to lighten the mood.
Overall, the sparring sessions with Spider-Man left us impressed and eager to further test our skills against him. It was evident that he was a formidable opponent and a potential valuable ally who can help us in dangerous situations.
