Shadow: King Of The Night & Ruler Of The Underworld

Betrayed and casted aside by his own family, Greg’s perfectly aligned life morphs into a literal joke. He ends up landing in a wealthy family, and assumes his life is finally back on track, but his life’s status only grew more pathetic, despite him having a wife now. There, he becomes the disgraceful son-in-law everyone despises. Greg gets humiliated on a daily basis by the wealthy people around him. Greg had lost all hope and was about to give up the ghost after one unfortunate circumstance, when heaven finally danced in his favor and a hand stretched out to him— in his long, lost relative who showed up from the blues and completely turned his life around. “You’re no longer the pathetic son-in-law, Greg. You’d now be known as Shadows, King of the night and ruler of the world. Everyone would either bow at your feet or be sent six feet under!” Greg’s time is finally here. Alas, he’s on top of the world, and this time, he’d stop at nothing till every single person who had wronged him, is bowing at his feet.

Wise Words

Damien laughed maniacally at how he had cracked the case without breaking a sweat. How could they show up to ruin his night? No, he would not allow it. They were all losers and he was going to show them that they were nothing before him.

"You thought by showing up with your rented Bentley that you can intimate me?" he went on. "You all are jokers. I have an expensive car and I don't need to borrow to ride it."

His girlfriend and his friends joined in raining insults on Greg and the old man as everyone around watched what was unfolding before them.

"Imagine this idiot showing up to say that he's here to take Greg… Where the fuck are you taking him to? It's not possible for him to be the heir. I've already shown you what the official sites say on the internet.

"Now to blow your mind even further I'll tell you that I've known Greg for years. He used to be the housemaid of our house and here he is faking his fame."

Damien laughed pointing to Greg. "Is that why you're here? To make people believe you're popular so they'd give you money and favors? You couldn't choose something else to be or another company to hail from.

"You had to pick the most popular company to be from. We have the internet nowadays. Did you forget that? Your dumb brain didn't tell you that anyone could easily figure out the truth by simply searching through the net.

"What a waste of human cells. And besides, if the Hudson company or whatever had sent their men to come and rescue Greg, should they not have sent multiple cars and maybe a flying helicopter?

"I don't see anything around but an old man who surprisingly still has his strength and fake bouncers who have no shame but to fight for scraps. Pathetic."

At this point, the old man had had enough as he was getting angry. Immediately the old man sighed, the guards rushed to their feet attacking Damien and beating the snot out of him.

His friends and his girlfriend who had been with him a couple of seconds ago ran away leaving the man to the bouncers who punched him while he screamed for help.

Greg looked at the way the men were beating Damien and wanted them to continue. The urge for him to leave them to beat him until he passed out was there but then he remembered that he was not a murderer.

He was not going to treat Damien the same way. He would be the bigger man and let it go.

That was all in the past now and watching Damien getting pulverized was not in his books of ways to have revenge. He wanted to have his revenge but it had to be slow and steady.

He wanted his revenge to make Damien crawl to his knees and beg for forgiveness.

The punches started to increase as Damien was losing consciousness which the hero did not want happening.

"Enough," he ordered as the bouncers looked back to stare at him in shock.

"But sir, everything he said about you and the way he had beaten you earlier…" a bouncer noted but he was not having it.

"I know but I don't want him being beaten anymore. Let him go."

The men left their victim as they bowed to Greg.

"Now that we've gotten rid of the scum and his allies, shall we get into the club?" the old man suggested as the hero nodded following him into the club.

"Sir, do we get to keep our jobs?" a bouncer asked while trembling where he stood.

"Get rid of the scum in front of the club and I'll think about it."

A bouncer rushed to open the door with a bow as the duo entered into the brightly lit club.

The lights and the music overwhelmed the heir as he started to stagger around with the old man helping him to stay steady.

He yelled out a few things which Greg could not hear due to the noise before leading him into a cubicle to recuperate.

"How are you doing?" the old man asked in concern, giving him water to drink.

"Not well I'm afraid. I got beaten up really badly."

"I can see that. I did ask for us to go to the hospital but you refused."

"I've had bad experiences with those and I'd like to stay away until I'm okay."

"I understand."

The man was really kind, Greg thought. He was just like Steve. There was no doubt that this man and Steve could be related.

"My name is Carl and I am the family's butler. I worked for your grandfather before deciding to work for your uncle who was cast aside by his father.

"I chose to work for Hudson because there was something I could see in him but I could not see that in your father.

"Even though your father was chosen by your grandfather he never truly measured up and that was the same way you were cast aside and your twin was chosen to replace you."

"Why would you work for my uncle when you already know his history? You knew he had nothing and you still went after him. That seems like a dangerous thing to do."

The man chuckled while pacing around the cubicle.

"You know nothing about life, child," the butler smiled. "Sometimes looks and status are not everything. Other times money and fame means zero. In this instance that was the case.

"I could have chosen to work for your father but I would not be here today. I would be somewhere in your grandfather's company but my fate would be unknown.

"The reason I followed your uncle was because there was fire in his eyes and there still is. I don't regret following him one bit and I am glad I chose that decision. It's led me here."
