"For god's sake will you bloody well sit down already?" Caleb snaps in an irritated tone at a nervous-looking Alan who was standing clutching the back of the chair. "O…..Okay, but only because I don't think you'll cut my throat in a public place." Alan sigh heavily as he hesitantly took a seat opposite Caleb. "Is that why you've been avoiding me?" "Hell yes, it was my advice that send you down this spiraling course." Alan sigh running his hands over his face.
"It was stupid advice, I never should've suggested that to you, I just…..for her to die like that, I never saw this coming dawg and I do feel partly responsible for all this," Alan said in an embarrassed tone.
"Yeah, but beating ourselves up about it isn't going to bring her back…" "…True but I can't help it, as your best friend, I failed you man…it's ….." "Stop! Just stop alright, yes it may have been bad advice but it was exactly what I wanted to hear at the time, I'm not angry at you.
I was all too happy to run with what you said, so I'm the one to blame, not you, I'm the one that will have to live with this for the rest of my life and nothing I do can change that." Caleb finishes tears in his eyes.

"So how is Caleb? I mean with the funeral coming up tomorrow and all?" Scott asks as he and Jasmine were being treated to lunch by Tyler and Janice. "He's hanging in there, the consequences of his actions are weighing him down though, he's more quiet, solemn, I would even say he's depressed," Ty said with a heavy sigh.
"It's so sad, nothing good ever comes from cheating, when is he going to learn that?" Scott sigh. "Some people just don't learn until something bad happens. This is going to change a lot of things for him, his daughter, and Maya's family, an unnecessary tragedy but what's done is done and now he'll have to live with it." Ty said in a frustrated tone.
"I mean he saw what I went through with Kayla, firsthand, he saw what her cheating did to me, and in turn he did everything he could think of, to never be in the position that I was in but what he was actually doing was turning into her... into Kayla….." Ty said his voice trailing off.
"She wasn't perfect, she had her faults but she didn't deserve to die, it didn't have to end…like …..this…, why couldn't he have just listened to me?" Janice massaged Ty's shoulder as he tried to keep his emotions in check.
"My dad took an oath, never to cheat on my mother when they got married, didn't your brother take one too?" Jasmine asks. "Yeah, he did but he didn't have any intention of honoring it, in other words, he lied, he stood in front of God, his family, and friends and he lied," Ty said angrily.
"I'll not have sex until I'm married and I'm never going to cheat on my wife, cheating has devastating consequences, that, is my oath," Scott said in a serious tone. "Stay that course and you'll be fine young cuz," Ty said nodding in approval. "You're my role model, you're honest, God-fearing, and faithful, so I know for a fact that you're right." Scott laughs.

Caleb had just put on his jacket and was putting his wallet in his back pocket when one of his cousins enters his room. "Hey cuz, got a minute?" "Actually, not right now. I have to be at the funeral home before they move her, it's the only chance I'll ever have to say my final goodbye to her before they bury …..her." Caleb said taking a deep shuddering breath.
"I respect that and I'm sorry you're hurting but there is something you need to know and even though it's going to be tough for you to hear, you still need to know."
"Hey brother, you ready?" Ty asks entering Caleb's room with Fabian right behind him. "Oh good you're all here, now I only have to give this news once." She said with a heavy sigh.
Thank you all so much for your patience
It's getting closer to Christmas, so things
Have gotten a lot busier at work, I miss writing
So much, I'm having withdrawal symptoms. I may
Have slowed down but I haven't stopped, my lovelies.
Verse for Thought
Never boast about tomorrow, you don't
know what will happen between now and then
