Tricked

"William?"

"I need to go. Can you take Gloria back home first?"

"Sure." Yakov agreed readily. Gloria was practically the weakest one of their group that was staying in the city. It might be pretty safe here because there were a lot of police and soldiers around, but since they were planning on returning back to the wilderness soon, they shouldn't take any chances.

Besides, that Officer Agus might not going to let them off so easily without any retaliation after what William did to him back then.

As William left, Yakov turned to look at Gloria. "So, have you already finished your project?"

"Project?"

"You're making your thesis when we first met you, right?"

Gloria's mind blanked out for a moment before she shook her head. "That couldn't be continued anymore. I left the circuits and most of the parts in my university that might have been destroyed."

"Eh? I thought you're building it again."

"…For what?"
