Chapter 5: Travels

The next morning Ryu and Yanagi prepared themselves and made their way out of Kakiriko Village. The two had been given information that the man they are looking for was seen heading towards Hateno Village.

Before leaving Kakiriko, Ryu purchased Yanagi some armor. Yanagi now wore a full suit of shiny metal armor, the armor had a red cape hanging from the shoulders, the helmet had a pair of red horns on top, he continued to wear his dragon like gauntlets. The duo also purchased bombs for the each of them.

The two walk down the dirt path while surveying there surroundings, they soon pass over a bridge and spot a sign. Ryu walks up to the sign and reads it.

Ryu: "Hateno Village is this way. It should only be a days walk."

The two follow the sign and continue there travels.

After a few hours of walking the two decide to take a rest.

As the two are setting up camp an arrow lodges itself into a tree near Ryu's head. Ryu pulls his bow out of his pouch. The bow was green in color and was made from jade, this was the Jade Bow, a bow capable of piercing almost any metal.

Ryu: "We're being attacked! Be on guard!"

Ryu knocked an arrow and looked around the area. Out of the corner of his eye Ryu spots the gleam of armor. Ryu takes aim and shoots his arrow at the gleam, the arrow hits its mark and a man tumbles out of the bush and down the hill.

Yanagi: "Bandits!? There's most likely more!"

An arrow clangs off of Yanagi's armor. Ryu sees were the arrow came from and fires his own, killing the bandit.

Out of the tree line comes 5 more bandits, all of them brandishing some kind of weapon. Ryu puts his bow away and unsheathes Blood Rose. Yanagi grabs his hammer from his back and holds it in both hands.

Ryu dashes forward and swings Blood Rose horizontally, slicing off the head of a bandit wielding a sword. Yanagi brings his hammer down on the head of an unsuspecting bandit, crushing in his skull.

Ryu: "Only 3 more!"

Ryu reaches into his pouch and pulls out a bomb, he ignites the bomb's fuse and lunges it at the approaching bandits, blowing them sky high.

Ryu sheathes his sword and pulls out a fishing pole.

Ryu: "You get the fire wood and I'll catch us some fish."

Ryu makes his way over to the nearby river and casts his line into it.

An hour of fishing and Ryu manages to catch several fish, which he then cooks over the campfire Yanagi made. The two feast on the delectable fish and turn in for the night.
