5. Promise?

~A Few Minutes Back~

Hiro charged forward with great momentum. Tearing through the ever growing amount of beasts. He couldn't understand why they were increasing but he didn't care. There was only one thing on his mind.

"SWEET ROUND BALLS,"

And he chanted it as he went by. Each chant angrier than the last, and followed by the death of some beasts.

He was angry. If it wasn't for the number of beast increasing, he would have reached his destination a long while ago. And he could have gotten all the pills he wanted. But here he was slowed down by a mountain of easy targets.

"GET OUT OF MY WAY YOU WEAKLINGS!"

The sky shook under his howl. It caused the beasts around to halt.

~ROAR!~

But what followed was a much louder roar. It quaked both the heaven and the earth.

"A strong one,"

Hiro smiled and looked ahead. His blood boiled crazily hot. Probably it was his imagination but he saw his hands emitting smoke. But that didn't matter. There was finally someone worthy of being an opponent.

He stomped the ground heavily and sprang forward. Charging through the blockage of beasts faster and easier than before. Every move of his arms indicated several instant death. To the beasts in front of him, Hiro had become a death god. A killing machine, that saw them with no significant.

"Ah!"

Hiro heard a scream and halted. Turning to the direction of the scream he frowned.

"Someone? That means pills, sweet round balls,"

He looked straight ahead, the direction he was charging to.

"Ah!"

The scream came again this time louder and sounding more desperate than before.

"Sweet round balls!"

Hiro shot forward. Arriving almost instantly, he slashed with his dagger.

~Rar!~

The head of the beast fell off and it landed on its victim's face.

"Stand up, If you don't want to die,"

Hiro said to the victim, who laid motionless. If others saw her they would believe she was dead. He pushed the beast body off her and bent down.

"Yikes, that's a nasty wound. Oi, get up,"

~ROAR!~

That terrifying roar came again and the beasts around rushed at Hiro.

~Swish~

~Swish~

Hiro slashed out killing the beasts who feared not death. And with great anger, he roared louder than ever.

"ALL OF YOU GET LOST!!!"

The ground around him quaked and cracked. Immediately, it crumbled and caved in, taking in hundreds of beasts with it.

Only a few beasts in the air survived but they were not left unscathed. Most of them had gone deaf. They looked at the pillar Hiro stood on with terror in their eyes.

"Ah!"

The girl at Hiro's feet opened her eyes. What greeted her was tremendous pain, a blue sky and a young strangely dressed boy. He had blood over his body, dripping to the ground as the wind blew by softly.

"Ah,"

She sat upright and her eyes widened at everything around her. What the hell was going on?

"Oh, you are up,"

"Did he do this?" she thought looking at him.

"You should take care of that, you are bleeding a lot,"

She turned to her abdomen and placed her hands on it. Urging her energy, she did her best to stop the bleeding. She took out a bottle and poured two pills out.

Hiro stared at the pills with bright glittering eyes. At the moment, he saw nothing but the pills.

"Can I have some?"

"Huh? The pills? Sure, here you go,"

She gave him the bottle. Hiro took it with a big smile and immediately gulped down the contents. She looked at him with eyes wide open.

"Are you out of your…"

"Burp!"

His eyes brighten at her. "Yours are way sweeter than others,"

"Can I get more from you later?" he asked.

"Umm, yes, you can," she said and got up.

"Promise?"

She blinked at him, wondering why he looked cute at the moment. In her eyes, his demeanor had gone from a strong looking boy to that of a harmless, innocent boy, who was sincerely helpless. This was a big contrast to the sight around her.

"I promise,"

"Yes, yes, yes, yes, ye… shit!"

"Ah!"

She screamed has she flew back. Hiro had stretch his hand forward, hitting her chest and sending her flying. The next instant, a cannon-like attack blasted both Hiro and the pillar.

She urged her energy, balancing herself and hovering in the air. Shaking her head sideways, she refused to believe what just happened. To be honest, she didn't understand what happened.

The pillar was incinerated and she couldn't find Hiro's body. She traced the attack back to its source. Standing there was a twelve feet tall beast.

May be it was as a result of being surrounded and almost facing death, but she had just noticed its appearance.

What the hell was an ancestor level beast doing right in front of their base. It was supposed to be healing somewhere hidden and secluded.

"Tch! Ah,"

She bit her lower lips and lowered to the ground. Her wound had hurt her so bad and so did her chest. Hiro had saved her, but he had also hurt her. Facing the ground, she coughed out blood.

"Ah,"

A low growl sounded and something dug out from the ground some distance away.

"That hurt, you beast. Kuhum!"

Just barely rising to his feet, Hiro fell to his knees and coughed out blood. He had a huge wound on his abdomen and several wounds on his hands and legs. His entire body was bleeding all over. Barely able to keep one eye open, he was in a terrible state.

~ROAR!~

An angry cry sounded and Hiro forced himself to his feet.

"You! Damn you!"

Hiro kicked the ground and shot forward. Instantly he arrived in front of the girl and covered her up with his own body.

"Ah!" Hiro cried out.

Her eyes widened and she realized Hiro had blocked an attack. She curled up her body together on the ground as much as possible. Using his body as a shield, he protected her.

"Oi, Kuhum, you promised, right?"

She looked up at him. He was still standing in front of her.

"You promised… Kuhum! you'll give me pills later,"

"You… yes, I promise,"

"Don't you… don't you dare go back on that. Kuhum!"

Hiro turned around and said. "No… Kuhum! no one is allowed to kill you… Kuhum! until I get my pills!"

With a mighty stomp, a huge crater was created. She sank down and Hiro sprang forward. His speed was terrifying.

~ROAR!~

The ancestor beast roared and opened its mouth. One after the other, it released attacks on Hiro, as he got ever closer. But Hiro had no plan on being caught by those attacks. He was madly enraged.

"How dare you!?"

~ROAR!~

The ancestor beast took to the sky. Hiro had successfully covered the distance between them. He bent his legs and launched like a rocket into the sky.

Everyone who saw this were beyond dumbfounded. Hiro shot passed it and roared angrily.

"GET DOWN!"

He punched its huge head and sent it back down. The ancestor beast crashed to the ground. Hiro fell back down and landed. His body heaving rapidly and his eyes emitting tremendous rage.

"Huh?"

He frowned and looked down. Instantly his body crashed to the ground heavily. He couldn't feel his legs.

"What is… I see," Hiro sighed and closed his eyes.

"Buhaha, the last fighting will of a dying man is amazing. You humans are so intriguing,"

The ancestor beast rose up with a mocking laugh. It looked down at Hiro, as it too understood what just happened. Hiro blinked and stared back at the beast as his consciousness faded away. What had kept Hiro going was an adrenaline rush. And now that it was over, he couldn't keep on going.

His eyes closed and everything went blank. His consciousness had faded away.
