First Audition (revised)

Amy entered the office, she heard some of the quarrel but didn't pay attention to it because she knew that she has to prove herself here. She will face much more serious criticisms in the future. She just has to be patient and prove herself by performing better than before.

As Amy entered the door, it was a big room with sofas and bookshelves with proper lightning and cameras. Director David Lynch was sitting on the chair and his long cheeks were stern, and his expressions looked cold. There were also three more people on the other chairs beside him, two of which were the other producers of the movie.

Seeing the girl entering the door, David was surprised and a little shocked. The girl opposite to him was extremely beautiful, the type of golden vase that every Hollywood commercial film would want because such a face can easily guarantee the box office of a movie. The other people in the room were also in the same situation as the director.

A small face with three dimensional structure, exquisite facial lines, shiny gold-like blond hair, ocean blue deep eyes , proper hourglass figure, and just the right amount of fat on the face makes her proper American sweetheart. Her smiling eyes and hooked lips give her the extreme sexiness that would drown the people in it without any regards for the gender. A face that could said to be leathel for a country.

But the Director and others immediately adjusted their expressions and David asked : "Helllo, Are you Amelia Collins."

"Yes." Amy replied.

"Introduce yourself first."

Amy also started her brief introduction: "I am Amelia Collins. I am sixteenth years old and will be seventeen in 3 months. I am studying at St.Majistran high school and acting is my passion. I am also taking acting classes at present."

"Have you ever acted before Amelia, because we need professional actors for this movie. This is not a commercial film."

Director David asked. Amy replied back with a smile as if not hearing the scarism in director's tone: "I know acting and hope to perform according to your expectations."

The producer Alan Sarde immediately interjected and said: "Then let's start with the Audition. Perform this segment."

He also passed Amy a part of the script. Amy took and it was the the part of Betty's reaction on Rita's engagement announcement with her boyfriend Adam.

She read it for a few minutes and started performing. Her performance lasted for about 10 minutes and then she stopped.

Seeing her performance stop, the producers looked better but director's expressions were not good enough and he asked:

"I am surprised at your performance Amelia. It was really good enough but we have a problem here. You are very young, at least young for the role."

The producer Alan wanted to say something but seeing her changing expressions and dementor, director exclaimed "Huh... "

"Can you jitterbug ?"

Jitterbug, also known as the sailor dance is a kind of ballroom dance, a fast four-step dance accompanied by jazz music, and is a very humerous dance.

Amy knew about this kind of dance when she was reading the script before, and she also tried to practice it by herself but she was not very proficient in it because of lacking a male partner. She replied back:

"I can jitterbug but I am not very proficient in it."

At the directors signal, she started performing the dance. It was just okay with some mistakes in it.

The director said : "You can go now. We will give you the final answer after some discussion."

Amy knew that her work was over here. So she went out. As soon as she exited the office, a discussion broke in the office.

"What do you think about it Tomy, I think she is good enough." said Alan.

"I also agree with her. What do you think David? "

David replied after thinking : "Its Ok, but she is very young and also very beautiful. And compared to Laura, it clearly shows that there is a visible age gap between them."

"For the age, we can adjust it with the makeup and make it look sharper."

Hearing it, a series of transformation plans started happening in David's head like cutting the hair short, dance practice, ete.

But he still said : "But even with all these, I still can't think of her as Betty and she's very young. She looks like a charmer and its not my ideal Betty."

Seeing that David still didn't agree, Tomy wanted to say something else but the producer Alan said :

"If its really not upto your appeal then lets look for something else. ---- As for this girl, I already have a project in my mind. I think she will fit in perfect for it."

The others nodded.
