"Satoru here is your cousin, the son of your late father's, late sister.."
The old man sighed, as the silver haired youth heaved a sigh as well and flashed a sad smile.
"Anyway, let me explain a bit of your clan's history to you so you understand the heritage you possess." Ayumu crossed his legs and poured himself a cup of fragrant tea.
"The Hayato clan was a member of the four great Jujutsu families, now renamed the 3 great Jujutsu families, with roots far beyond the Heian Era. They were believed to be the descendants of the Gods, and the originators of Jujutsu itself.
Some speculate that the Gojo clan was actually formed by a branch disciple of the Hayato clan, though it's not genetically proven.."
He stopped to clear his throat, as Kenshin listened, resting his cheek on his palm.
"The Hayato clan members were so feared due to their inherited Cursed Technique known as the Six Paths of Distinguished Heavenly Gods.
The more talented members of the clan awakened a mysterious ocular technique called the Rinnegan which was believed to be the Supreme Eyes of the Gods, showing up once a millennia in the clan, hence anyone who awakened the Rinnegan was hailed as Supreme Being.
The Six Paths were the Human Path, the Deva Path, the Asura path, the Animal Path, the Naraka Path and the Preta path..."
He spoke and took another swing of his tea, allowing the youths to digest the information he had just relayed to them.
"Now I don't know the details of any of the paths, due to fact that my main source of information comes from information your father and some history books.." Ayumu added, as Kenshin nodded.
"Those who awakened the Rinnegan however had the ability to manipulate all the six paths while gaining even more earth shaking world destroying abilities.."
He spoke and eyed Kenshin who nodded solemnly, clearly understanding what the old man was trying to say.
"Your father on the other hand was a genius who did not awaken any of the six paths, rather he awakened what he called the Outer Path; which allowed him to completely master Reverse Cursed Techniques to extreme levels. Back then, he was our most treasured and important sorcerer. To think we'd lose him in such a manner..."
Ayumu sighed and shook his head.
"And from what I know, the mother of this brat, your auntie had awakened power of the Human path, though I don't really know what special ability that granted her..
However, since you've awakened the fabled Rinnegan, your potential even surpasses that of your father, a potential that is probably on the level or even surpasses a six eyes and Limitless user." Ayumu spoke and looked at Satoru, while he only flashed a small confident smile.
"If my clan was so powerful why exactly am I the last successor and if my father was so talented, why did he lose to a bunch of humans?"
Speaking a cool voice Kenshin's eyes instantly transformed into his Rinnegan, as his cursed energy bubbled accompanied an extremely powerful murderous intent.
"Even I don't know what exactly happened to your clan, however, it was said that, after no Rinnegan user awakened in the clan for more than two millennia, around the Heian Era, the clan was in decline. I also think that their disappearance might be related to the one they call the calamity in that Era.."
Ayumu calmly explained and glanced at Kenshin, as his pupiless eyes gently rested on the boy.
"Your father on the other hand, is a different case. His death is not as simple as it seems. After all, how could my disciple, skilled in combat and master of the Reverse Cursed Technique be killed by ordinary humans?
I suspect that his death was caused by curse users and the explosion was used to cover up their tracks."
Ayumu spoke with a heavy heart. "I have not stopped investigating for one moment and I plan on uncovering the truth and bringing them to justice.."
He patted Kenshin's shoulder with a reassuring smile.
"You don't need to. All the humans who had something to do with the death of my family,....I killed them! As for those curse users, I'll find them myself...you don't need to worry.."
Kenshin shrugged off Ayumu's hand and walked out of the dojo with a murderous expression.
"Sigh. How can such a child bear such an intense amount of resentment and hatred in his heart? Hiruma what kind of monster have you begotten?"
Ayumu raised his head toward the sky and mumbled to himself under the gazes of the two youths.
"Should we bring him back, Principal?"
Suguru offered, but Ayumu simply shook his head.
"Just get him a room in the hostel and leave him for the time being.."
Ayumu ordered, as the youths nodded and walked out.
Walking out of the dojo with a calm expression, Kenshin was about to leave when a figure appeared in front of him in a split second.
"Hey man, wait up!" Satoru reached him and stopped him in his tracks.
"If you're here to offer your condolences or say you're sorry, save it. It's the last thing I need.."
Kenshin shrugged off Satoru's hand on his shoulder and continued walking away.
"I'm not here to offer any apologies. In fact, to tell you the truth, my mum was assassinated by curse users after I was born, and now that I think about it, being connected to the Hayato clan made her a target to whatever being is behind all this, just like your father was.."
Kenshin halted in his path and turned around, seeing the downcast expression on Satoru's face.
"You don't need to leave. We can become stronger together, and at that time, we'll find out the person or group behind all of this and get back at them for all this suffering! I do consider myself a clansman of the Hayato clan after all.."
He walked forward and patted Kenshin's shoulder once more, and this time he didn't shrug it off.
"Satoru's right. And I'll be here to provide any assistance I can offer.."
Suddenly, a voice rang out, as Suguru appeared with an amicable smile.
"Why are you helping me?" Kenshin asked, glaring at both of them. "I'm not helping you. Though I do consider you an ally due to our familiar bonds. I am your cousin after all, and how can I rest easy, knowing that the my mum's and uncle's killer still run around."
Satoru flashed an arrogant smile and tried ruffling Kenshin's hair which the youth dodged solemnly and flashed him a murderous glare.
"Satoru's my best friend, and any family of his is family to me too.." Suguru spoke and patted Kenshin's shoulder as well.
"That makes absolutely no sense.." Kenshin shook his head and rolled his eyes, as Suguru laughed.
"Anyway, let's get you a room to stay in the hostel. Tomorrow, we begin training!"
Satoru smiled and grabbed onto Kenshin's shoulders much to his dislike as the two enthusiastic youths pulled him further into the school's grounds.
