Chapter 10: Breach

"The autopsy room has been breached!"

As the policemen uttered those words, the detective snapped to Eichi and demanded, urgency clear in his voice, "Are they here for you?"

Eichi, although tired, managed a smirk before replying, "Maybe, maybe not."

"I need answers, boy," the tall man demanded, clearly not taking a joke as an answer.

Eichi, despite the clear danger he was in, didn't feel as if he should be worried. After all, the heir was safe, taken by the woman who would take better care of the baby than he ever could. However, he still had business to finish with the shinobi.

"He is here to either finish his job or dispose of his comrade. Or simply both." At his last statement, he shrugged. Either way, he would take care of it whether these people wanted it or not.

At that moment, the skinny guy moved to the door, gesturing to take Eichi out. "All right, young man, you need to go and let the pros take care of it," he commanded, his words carrying the weight of authority. Eichi guessed he was a jonin of this country.

Eichi, however, thought of him as a flashy fool, thinking that a real shinobi was just a run-of-the-mill criminal.

He sighed, standing up slowly, his smile stretching dangerously, and said, "Nah, I don't think I will."

At that moment, the Eichi standing before them burst into smoke, surprising everyone inside the interrogation room.

Without wasting any time, the skinny man bolted through the door, while Aizawa didn't move a muscle, staring at the place where Eichi had been standing.

While Aizawa was lost in thought, the detective brought him back to reality, "Aizawa! I thought you had him immobilized!"

Slowly, Aizawa turned to the detective with his eyes wide. He stuttered, "I-I don't know! I clearly immobilized him! It could be he has a teleportation quirk—"

Stopping himself mid-sentence, he recalled the fight that happened, the ability to use clones by those individuals was stated, but unfortunately forgotten. Another bad score on his file, feeling the headache coming a mile away.

He sighed, shaking his head as he massaged his temple. Suddenly, he got to the door, responding to the detective, "He has the ability to use clones of himself. He must have created one when the smoke filled the room."

Without letting the detective collect his thoughts, he rushed to the autopsy room, fearing for the kid's life.

However, he couldn't shake off the lingering image of the teen bombing himself to take another guy with him.

**Flashback**

As Aizawa arrived at the battlefield, he couldn't help but feel dread as he looked at the state of the area where the individuals were fighting.

Looking intently, he could spot a teen in his late teens fighting off four individuals.

As unbelievable as the scene might be, what struck him was the military-like uniform worn by those individuals, each having different symbols on the iron plate placed on their forehead.

At that moment, he heard his superior speak, "What in the hell is... happening."

Aizawa, agreeing with him, muttered, "He... he is a kid, fighting off four adults."

At that statement, Edgeshot frowned, his expression dark. He said, "From the look of it, this is a case involving 'child soldiers.' We need to take a closer look." He turned abruptly to Aizawa and spoke gravely, "Capture of these individuals is of the highest priority. We may have a criminal organization capable of slipping through the association's radars on our hands."

However, Aizawa couldn't help but just nod at the order. He heard stories of Ectoplasm doing a tour in Mexico, where the cartels were so influential that nothing could be done even by the government. It was a sickening thought, thinking that kids their age had already killed and fought for their survival instead of enjoying their youth.

To Aizawa, this mission became more than just a job; it became an objective to learn and find out what was happening.

But alas, his thoughts were cut short as he saw the teen rushing toward the group. Determined to break up the fight, he decided to jump in.

Edgeshot, seeing Aizawa jump, cursed. He knew Aizawa had a soft spot for kids, but the mission came first. This would require a reprimand after all this.

As Aizawa was in the air, he shot his bandages toward the kid's trajectory.

However, surprisingly enough, the kid dodged all of them, continuing forward, fighting them one by one.

The sight might be gut-wrenching but somehow fascinating. The skill displayed by the two parties was impressive.

It was the skill of an assassin, trained to kill; every blow was intended to kill, with no unnecessary movement, no time wasted, no hesitation.

But the sight had to end when one of the group of four managed to get behind the kid.

Not letting this unfold with a casualty, Aizawa enveloped the man in the blue uniform to stop him from killing the kid.

But what he saw next made him stop in his tracks. The kid, using the situation to his advantage, stabbed the man.

The sight shook him to the core. He somehow hoped it was not what he thought it was, that the kid had already killed before.

Alas, it was not the end. Without having time to react, he witnessed the three other individuals rush to stab the kid, all hits landing.

At that moment, Aizawa saw red. He rushed—no, rather leapt—toward the battle, guilt eating him from the inside.

But he couldn't continue as Edgeshot stopped him, fleeing from the battlefield. He yelled, "Let me go! Damn it, Edgeshot! They killed the kid!"

However, Edgeshot was silent, still running away, because at that moment, they heard a loud voice.

It was the kid, still having the will to fight, but not in the way Aizawa imagined.

"From the ashes, we shall arise!"

At that moment, he felt as if something bad was about to happen, something big.

And big it was.

An explosion rocked the area, blasting everything around them and leaving the lawn barren.

That day, something broke inside Aizawa.

As always, tell me your thoughts.
