Blanc Rougenfort, a passionate lover of knowledge, grew up as the son of a maid serving a Count's family in the kingdom of Lockridge. Unfortunately, their peaceful life was disrupted when a rebellion broke out and the forces of the Count, who Blanc and his mother were serving, were completely destroyed. The Count entrusted Blanc with the task of escaping the country with his daughters and starting anew. However, Blanc was not content with just that. He made a vow to establish his own army, seek revenge for the Count's family, and ensure that the world is safe for those dear to him.

"Haaahh…Haaahhh…"
Alexander and Gar had already clashed for more than two hundred moves and they were both starting to get tired.
"Not bad for a hillbilly warrior. Time to get serious and finish you off!"
After taunting Alexander, a gray sword intent extended from Gar's hands which slowly covered his entire sword.
"You think you're the only one with sword intent?"
Alexander retorted.
A few moments later, Alexander's sword was coated with blue sword intent as well.
Gar was visibly surprised after seeing Alexander use sword intent. He didn't expect that someone in this backwater city could become a Swordmaster.
After all, in the entire Dumont Dukedom, only he was able to become a Swordmaster. That's why he became this arrogant.

After a few more clashes, Gar started to feel uneasy. He was the hope of their army, if he could not defeat this guy named Alexander, then their army would be wiped out.
He started to regret not bringing all 20,000 soldiers of the Dumont Dukedom.
"HAAAAAAHH!! DIE!! LOSE ALREADY!!"
Gar is already losing patience. He can see many of their soldiers being skewered by the enemy's ballista while the others are dying due to the archers.
Unfortunately, their elites were only good enough to maintain a stalemate against the enemy's soldiers and they weren't able to break through at all which makes them an easy target for the archers and the ballista.
An hour passed and although Alexander was losing slightly on the exchanges, there's still a long way to go before Gar can defeat him.
Unfortunately for Gar, his soldiers were running out of time.
"K…Kuuhh…You hillbillies! We'll be back! Men! Retreat!"
After hearing Gar Grayleaf's orders, the soldiers looked like they'd been granted a second life. They quickly started to retreat in an orderly manner.
However, how could Blanc let them go?
"Since you dared to come here, why go home? Just stay here forever! Men! Give chase! Don't let these invaders escape!"
Resonance City's army excitedly gave chase upon hearing Blanc's orders.
After a few hours of chasing, Gar Grayleaf couldn't help but curse.
"What the fuck?! These guys are still chasing us?! How persistent can these rats be?!"
Gar tried to intimidate the chasing army by attacking them alone but unfortunately for him, Alexander was there to hold him down.
Seeing that there's nothing he can do, Gar gave up and just continued running together with his army.
Two hours later.
"G-General! Sir Gar! Bad news! W-We're surrounded!"
"What?! What do you mean surrounded? Weren't they just behind us?!"
Gar Grayleaf thought that it was absurd. How could they be surrounded when the enemy was right behind them?
"T-T-There's a large army estimated to be around 3,000 men who have successfully flanked us!"
"What?! Is it the Lockridge Kingdom?!"
Gar Grayleaf could only think of the Lockridge Kingdom since it was the only Kingdom in the direction where they are headed right now.
Unfortunately, his thoughts were cut short since they were already face-to-face with the flanker army.
"Shit! Men! Engage against the backwater city's soldiers! I shall negotiate with the commander of this huge army."
Gar started to walk towards the huge army to negotiate.
"I am Gar Grayleaf and we are from the Dumont Dukedom! May we know which country you're from?"
Suddenly, the man in front of the formation spoke.
"What the hell are you talking about? Did you forget your brain at the Dumont Dukedom? Weren't you attacking our city just a moment ago?"
Gar's eyes widened due to utter shock and disbelief.
"No! Impossible! How is a backwater city this strong?!"
Gar didn't want to give up and was about to try and negotiate again but unfortunately for him, Finnegan immediately ordered the flanker army to attack.
"Men! Charge!"
"Glory to Resonance City!!"
A few moments later, Gar's army was suddenly fighting from both their front and their back.
Gar knew that the situation was very bad for them right now. He was still trying to think of solutions though.
There's no way that these guys will voluntarily give them any chance to escape. If the situation continues, they will be wiped out.
Gar was wracking his brain for a solution, however, he wasn't even given a chance to think for too long as an elite heavy cavalry unit suddenly charged from the depths of the forest and started decimating his army from the right side.
A three-way pinch!
Gar already knew that the situation was hopeless so he was left with only one choice.
"DO YOU DARE FIGHT ME IN A ONE-ON-ONE?! IF I WIN, LET US GO!"
Blanc almost laughed after hearing Gar's desperate attempt. Why would they fight this guy in a duel when it's just a matter of time before they get wiped out?
"Sure! Just let us finish our job here first!" Blanc replied as his army continued to decimate the enemy army.
"STOP!!!! I SAID STOP!!!! YOU DARE DISREGARD MY WORDS?! STOOOOOPPPPPP!!!!!!"
Gar was going crazy. This is the first time that he failed in his entire life. Seeing your whole army decimated right before your eyes makes him feel that he was outmaneuvered when it came to strategy.
Ever since he was young, he thought that he was both smart and strong. Unfortunately for him, today, his delusions were shattered right in front of his eyes.
Dumont Dukedom's army was in utter chaos after being attacked from three sides and they didn't know which way to look anymore.
In just thirty minutes, the Dumont Dukedom's army was wiped out except for Gar. He was standing alone in the middle of thousands of enemy troops.
"NO….NO….THIS CAN'T BE HAPPENING!"
Suddenly, a man walked out from a path created by the soldiers.
Gar turned to look and his eyes were red from sheer anger and craziness.
"YOU!! IT'S ALL YOUR FAULT! IF ONLY YOU JUST SUBMITTED TO THE DUKE! NONE OF THIS WOULD'VE HAPPENED!!"
Blanc chuckled after hearing what Gar said.
"You're so stupid that it's getting too funny for me. Why would I submit to that inferior duke? Think about it. You had way more soldiers than us but you still lost? How incompetent."
Blanc insulted Gar.
"Y-YOU DARE INSULT THE DUKEDOM?! DARE INSULT ME?!"
"Why wouldn't I dare? You're just a defeated dog anyway why should I care about your insignificant opinions?"
Blanc replied then he continued
"Didn't you want a duel? I'll give you a chance to fight me. If you win, then we shall let you go."
"You? Fight me?"
Gar couldn't believe what he just heard. It seems that this city lord wanted to have a duel with him.
"Hahahahahaha so you dare to fight?! I thought you were just a turtle protected by your hillbilly army! Come then! It will be my pleasure to cut your head off!"
