We Are Hashira

"Tomioka-san, is it true that you got injured on a mission last month but didn't go to the butterfly estate just so you didn't have to see Shinobu?" Mitsuri asked cuddling with one of Muichiro's kittens.

"True." Giyuu looked down and mumbled "And I would do it again." But of course, everyone heard him. Shinobu looked at him with her "smile" making him turn to the right.

"I could see it." Tengen said still trying to resist the urge not to say those two words. He looked at Muichiro angrily but the letter just stared at the clouds through the skylight.

Giyuu thought for a few seconds avoiding a pillow a certain Insect Pillar threw at him. "Sanemi..."

"Dare, bitc... agh!" Mitsuri threw a pillow at him with all of her strength which was a lot. Sanemi got up and pointed towards her irked. "Why did you do that!!"

"No swearing in my house!" She humped and looked away.

"Don't "hump" me, god damnit!"

She didn't answer making him even more upset. He wanted to beat her up out of anger but knew that probably every Pillar would gang up on him. Including the seven-foot-two walking pile of muscle sitting RIGHT there!

Muichiro came back to reality and yawned "Yeah, no swearing you bitch." Tengen was laughing next to Shinobu who was kicked him telling him to shut up. Ya know. The usual.

"Hey! He just swore, do something!" He shouted at Mitsuri who looked back at him. Mitsuri looked at Muichiro who was pocking his kitten's nose making them mowed.

She tried her hardest not to scream and said "I didn't hear him swear."

"Bullsh... ow!!"

Many Unfinished Swears Later

"Anyway. I dare you not to threaten anyone except Shinobu for the next five hours." Giyuu drank his water ignoring the death glare he was getting from Shinobu. Sanemi glared at Giyuu and gritted his teeth.

He threw several pillows at Giyuu who just sat there catching all of them. "Gyomei-san, truth or dare?"

"Truth."

"Is it true that you pray after you kill demons?"

"Yes."

Muichiro sat up and stretched his arms. "Really? What gave that away, was it the fact that he has prayed over fifteen times since coming here?"

"You shut up before...!" Sanemi stopped when he remembered his last dare. He really wanted to make threaten the boy, but he didn't. He couldn't even through a pillow at him since Mitsuri would most likely yell at him.

Most of the Pillars tried not to laugh hearing Muichiro's question that was practically leaking with sarcasm. Muichiro had a point, it was a very obvious question that anyone with half a brain could figure out.

"Shinobu-chan."

"Dare."

"I dare you not to make fun of Tomioka-san for the next three hours."

"Impossible." Everyone else said in unison. They didn't believe for a second that Shinobu would be able to do that, especially with the game they were playing.

"I can do it, maybe. Anyway~, Kyojuro-san. Truth or dare?" Shinobu asked. Her whole plan was to ignore Giyuu so that she could complete the dare, if she ignored him he didn't exist.

"I chose Dare!"

"I dare you to slap Sanemi." Shinobu said pointing towards the letter. Sanemi scoffed and glared at Kyojuro before turning around with his eyes closed. Before he could even speak, Kyojuro appeared in front of him.

*SLAP!*

"Ohhhh." The other Pillars said. They really weren't exacting Kyojuro to do it. That was the reason Shinobu said it. She never thought The Flame Pillar would actually slap a fellow Pillar, but she was very mistaken.

Sanemi got up ready to beat the heavens into the yellow-haired man in front of him. He genuinely didn't think Kyojuro would do it after what happened when the two first met.

"Why the fu... ow!!!" He was hit with another pillow.

Sometime Later

Almost all of the Pillars, exploding Mitsuri, Muichiro, and Shinobu. Muichiro and Mitsuri lived there and Shinobu was asked to say to have a little chat.

Muichiro was in his room when Ginko flew down and landed on his shoulder. Muichiro was a bit off his game since he drank a lot of saki against everyone's will. He thought it would be fine since he drank water and was about to go to sleep but he was wrong.

"Muichiro-sama! Go north-east to a city right away. A member of the Twelve Kizuki has been seen killing people and other slayers! Meet with the Sound Pillar on your way there!"

"Oh. I'll go now, thank you."

"Of course!"

Muichiro changed into his uniform and put on his haori. He took some money on his way out just in case. Muichiro passed Mitsuri and Shinobu on his way out. "I'll be leaving." He didn't wait for a reply and left.

Muichiro dashed forward flowing Ginko flying overhead towards Tengen. He has very interested in this mission. The chances of it being an Upper Moon is practically zero. It's most likely a Lower Moon but Muichiro was hoping to see something cool.

[You should really stop pushing her away ya know]

'What do you mean?'

[You act all sweat with Mitsuri one hour and then you're all cold the next. You do seem to like her. Just go for it]

'She doesn't like me. I'm a compilation of red flags that every woman looking for a relationship would avoid. Then there's Iguro who will actually treat her nicely, he's prideful yes, but what I said doesn't change.'

[Do you really think so? I agree with the red flags part but she does like you. You heard her heartbeat. I'm with you every step of the way. She's not like Sil...]

'Please don't say her name.'

[Ah, sorry. Mitsuri's not like her. You can't let your past hunt you until you die]

Muichiro frowned and ran faster. He hated his past life, it may have seemed good on the surface but it was far from it. The things he so wanted to forget stayed with him in his next life.

With Mitsuri And Shinobu, Sometime Before

Mitsuri sat across the table from Shinobu who was drinking tea. She made sure Muichiro was in his room and sighed. Shinobu sensed her turmoil and frowned slightly. "Mitsuri-chan, what's wrong. Although I have a good idea."

Mitsuri nodded and said nothing. She kept on looking at her tea causing Shinobu to sigh. "You are afraid of hurting one of them, hug?'"

Mitsuri's eyes widened. She looked up and stared at Shinobu. "How did you know?"

"It was obvious. So, do you like Muichiro or Iguro?"

"I don't know? I have known Iguro-san longer and he makings me happy, but I feel all fuzzy when I'm with Muichiro-san. I don't want to hurt them."

Shinobu nodded putting her tea down. "I can't give you good advice on this subject, but I will say that you need to stop trying to make everyone happy. That's impossible to accomplish. You need to put your happiness above others' sometimes. Iguro obviously likes you, Muichiro I'm not one hundred percent. Muichiro is pretty hard to head.

According to the master, he watched his brother die right in front of him. His parents also died when he was very young. He has trouble showing emotions to others, but I know he has at least some feelings for you. Tokito-san probably doesn't think you will pick him over someone like Iguro who you've known longer. What I said still stands, choose who will make you happy."

"But, isn't relationships among corps members forbidden?" Mitsuri asked.

"Nope, they are just not recommended. We put our lives on the line almost every day. If you die, your partner will have to live with that for the rest of their life, and vis versa. And we are Hashiras, every time a member of the Twelve Kizuki appears, it's us who are called in. We don't get to live a happy life in the mountains. We are the Pillars of the Demon Slayer Corps. We stop fighting when we die, Muzan is defeated, or when you can no longer wield a sword."
