Chapter 20

Brendan grabbing his next Pokeball, sends out his next Pokemon.

"Grovyle!"

"Okay buddy lets make the first move, use leaf storm!" Brendan shouts, adrenaline pumping through him. Even though he isn't the one fighting, he's still feeling the pressure of the battle with all of the gusts of wind hitting his face.

Grovyle, listening to its trainer, uses leaf storm. Wallace seeing this doesn't stand idle, though.

"Milotic use endure!" Milotic taking the full blast of leaf storm, is just barely conscious to use one more move. "Milotic Hydro Pump!"

Wallace shouts, knowing as long as he can take out Grovyle it will be still winnable for him.

Wallace remembers watching Anabel and Brendans fight, him beating his opponent quickly, and could observe Brendans match and seeing his Pokemon fight was no joke.

Wallace still thought he could wipe the floor with him, but watching and fighting were separate things, and he's being put down a notch right now.

Wallace seeing Combusken and how skilled it was, believes it's Brendan's starter and strongest Pokemon, so he still has a chance as long as he takes down his grass type.

"Grovyle, detect!" Grovyle barely dodging the one-way ticket to dreamland. Proceeds to use swords dance by itself. "Grovyle go in for a quick leafage!"

Grovyle hearing this starts to channel grass energy to his hands. Grovyle for a split second disappears and appears behind Milotic and hits it with a direct Leafage.

"Grovyle!"

Grovyle after the first hit goes for more. Wallace seeing this desperately tells Milotic to use a disarming voice and back up, unfortunately for Wallace Grovyle tanks the disarming voice and ends up overwhelming Milotic, not being able to withstand more attacks faints after a 4th consecutive leafage.

Wallace down to his last Poke ball, throws out a love ball making a red beam head towards the battlefield.

Pokemon: Gyarados (Light green)

"Roar!"

A blue serpent like creature way bigger than Milotic, appears in front of Grovyle. The intimidating creature roars (It's Gyarados' ability is Intimidate, it lowers the opponent's attack). Grovyle looking like a complete ant to this huge Gyarados.

Brendan seeing Wallace's Gyarados starts to tense up. If it looked like he had a clear chance to win, now seems grim. "Grovyle use leaf storm as a cover for synthesis!"

Grovyle using leaf storm at Gyarados starts to focus on healing itself with synthesis. Wallace's without many options calls out. "Gyarados counter with twister!"

Gyarados hearing its trainer uses twister. Both attacks colliding cancel each other out, giving enough time for Grovyle to heal using synthesis. "Grovyle use double team then leafage!"

Grovyle running up to the Gyarados, confusing it with some double team clones, gets one direct hit with leafage.

"Gyarados use whirlpool!"

Gyarados surrounding itself with water, crashes it downwards, hitting Grovyle in the process. "Gyarados use aqua tail!" Grovyle seeing the attack uses detect by itself. Grovyle seeing an opportunity goes for a leafage, again getting another hit.

Gyarados getting hit by another leafage, counters by hitting Grovyle with an aqua tail sending Grovyle to the ground like baseball.

"Grovyle energy ball!"

"Gyarados ice beam!"

Both attacks colliding but ice beam getting an edge over energy ball starts heading for Grovyle. Grovyle dodging gets in close and goes for a quick leafage finishing off Gyarados with two direct leafages.

"Winner Grovyle, making the winner of this years Rookie Tournament Brendan from Littleroot town!"

Cheers and shouts from the crowd, could be heard. People all over watching this amazing battle take place knowing these trainers are going to be future pillars of Hoenn in the future. Everyone congratulates the trainers, but alas, only one trainer can win, and get the rewards for first place.

Brendan, after having a handshake with Wallace and takes pictures on the podium showing first, second and third (Third being May and Anabel).

Brendan, after this, heads to a room he was led to by tournament officials.

Entering the room, Brendan hears someone.

"Hello there young man!" A person says this in a calm but firm tone. "My name is Mr.Stone, I'm here to give you your rewards have you decided on what of the royal starter Pokemon you want?"

Brendan hearing this is surprised that the owner of the most influential company in Hoenn and in some other regions is currently presenting himself in front of him. Nods. "I've decided on picking Mud kip

Mr. Stone nodding at this decision, already knowing that Brendan has the other two Royal Pokemon already.

"I'll trust you with this Mudkip it's parents are quasi-champion and elite level respectively making this Mud kip quite the prized pokemon."

Mr. Stone says knowing other people would do almost anything to get a Mudkip with strong parents as it shows the Pokemons potential and what level it's able to achieve in the future.

"I've also got an egg to give you, this egg is a rare type of Pokemon mainly found in Hoen. My son has intrusted the person who won the Rookie tournament with this hoping it would get a strong trainer!"

Brendan hearing this, remembers that Steven Stone is Mr Stones son and is excited about what this Pokemon could be as he really needed a tank for his team. Brendan, after getting his rewards and money heads back to his hotel.

Brendan gets in his room, jumps on his bed, and falls asleep instantly. After all that built up stress, he was extremely tired.
