Chapter 21 End Of Day 6

Shortly after the energy went out, it got back on again. Just in time, as the giants were making their way towards us.

"Make the giants main priority!" I ordered the gods on the ship.

Pov change, new officer.

The commander seemed mad. To be fair it has been a hard day for everyone. All of us almost died some hours ago, because of a mistake of the general.

Now we also have a traitor and in the heat of the moment I got promoted.

I was born into the pantheon, unlike most. Unlike most gods who are born from energy, I was born like most mortal, by a random god and goddess, that both died. Leaving me alone to serve the pantheon. Everyone on the ship is like family, it's hard to believe someone would betray the pantheon.

~Flash back~

Doing a overhaul strike at him, it was blocked and followed by an attack against my waist, sending me back several meters. Rushing forward again, I covered my sword in energy and jumped. He dodged to the side, as I smashed down, destroying the ground. Not ready to give up, I stabbed forward, creating a gust of wind. He parried me to the left and tackled me and sent me flying ones more. This time he followed me. As I smashed into the wall of the arena. He did a downwards slash, creating a wound, going from my face to the end of my waist.

One of the men in the observation stadium screamed next and I was brought out of the arena.

Three days later result came. A bunch of happy screams was heard around me. " Yes I made it into melee squad." " Haha you see that, I'm going to be a ranged solder haha." Happy people chattered all around me. I opened the letter I got.

PILOT, stood with large words. No, this can't be, I was supposed to be a melee squad member.

" Pilots gather here." A man screamed. He was clothed in grey black cloths, with a officer hat on his head. I started walking towards him while clenching my fist, in anger and sadness.

"Stand in line PILOTS, today you have officially become pilots! Whatever it's your dream, or your only option, I don't care. As of today you are in the pilot program, be happy with what you got. We are going to slowly walk towards a ship, that will take us to one of our thousands of motherships, where you will be trained for the next five hundred mortal years."

With all that said, the commander started walking, in what he defined as slow speed, witch really was fast. The atmosphere in the room was very random. Some where screaming in happiness of making it, others were sad and gloomy about not making it to what they wanted. I was one of the second version.

Time skip 499 years 11 months and 30 days.

It was graduation day, I hade the sixth best grade, in the class of thousands. I had even made it to the middle of 3/12.

"Today is the last day of the academy. Sadly a war has started between gods and giants and we are caught in the middle of it. Meaning all of you, after tomorrow will be sent to the frontline. I have watched all of you grow up and can't say I haven't grown attached to you all. So please be carful, war is cruel and has mercy on no one." The officer who brought us here said.

The distaste towards this line of work, has long disappeared. Being replaced by happiness. I couldn't be happier to be here. Everyone here has become like a family I never had.

Time skip some days.

We hade been sent with the mothership we were raised in. Me and some of my friend got a mission, to go down to one of the realms and give them supplies. Thats when it happened. The ship we came from got destroyed by a 7/12 giant that appeared out of nowhere. My family, the people i grew up with, those who shared my sorrow and happiness, died like that. With no warnings or goodbyes and like that everyone I cared about died.

Precent

I don't understand, why would someone betray us? We all have a common enemy! Why fight amongst each other. I thought as in walked back to my post. I will not disappoint the commander! I will find that damn traitor.

Pov commander/ mc

Holding the giants with the mothership wasn't going so smoothly. But I did not care anymore, this is not my war. I was forced into it. But nonetheless we defended the wall, until reinforcement arrived. Ones they got here, they maned the wall and got to work.

The mothership could finally get into position. A position that would keep it safe, yet be able to kill the giants. In other words the ship is now behind the wall.

I got out the ship and walked to the walls command center. On the way I casted a buff at all the gods around. Because when I buff them I get a assist, meaning easy power increase. I could breakthrough at any moment I wanted. But it was not safe to do so yet. I could still gain the benefits I wanted from the wall and the kills and assists I got, stacked. So I wasn't losing anything. It's better to breakthrough when I have escaped, or when I escape.

" Commander." A man said while saluting me

" Hello, i take it you didn't have any problems getting here." I said to him.

" None at all sir. The journey here was a smooth sail, as some mortals say, haha." He said.

" That's good. How many soldiers do you have under you?"

" Enough to defend this wall sir. Don't worry." He tried to assure me. But I knew better. Someone wanted me dead, so this wasn't going to be as easy as he said.

" Good, get ready to defend. The swarm will only get worse." I told him.

Once again sitting down, I relaxed in my chair. All according to plan haha, thought to myself. Now I just have to survive some more days and well be golden.

The day went by without any nonsense. No quadrillions of giants swarming us. This was probably the calmest day I ever had. But we can't have peace and quiet forever. Apparently the man I promoted found the traitor some minutes ago.

" And you are sure this is the traitor?"

" Yes sir! We found videos of hime leaving and entering the energy reactor room, right when the energy went out."

" Than put him in a cell! And don't let anybody get near the energy reactor room again! I don't want the situation repeat itself!"

" Right away sir."

Man that was easy. Now i have nothing to worry about. Hopefully I will make it out alive, by the end of this.
