A Death In The Family

"I almost regret our reunion has come to an end so quickly." Black Mask sighs sadly, holding a sitting Red Hood at gun point. "But now I have the means to rule this city. We could have ruled together, but you failed me, Jason. As such, I have no more need of you in my life."

"Don't sweat it, Black Mask. I was never that into you." Red Hood says, looking up at Black Mask.

Enyo and Titan crash through a wall a few feet away from Black Mask and Red Hood. "What the hell?!" Black Mask exclaims, startled by the unexpected entrance. "This is the reason it would never work out, brother." Red Hood pushes the gun away from himself causing Black Mask to miss his shot, then activates the hidden blade in his boot and kicks Black Mask on the right calve stabbing him with the blade. Black Mask falls over, yowling in pain.

"Beside the fact, I was just hanging around long enough to fuck up your shit. You make like you have this massive crush on Jersey City--" Red Hood stands up picking up his pistols and pointing them at Black Mask on the ground holding on to his calf."--Then you turn around and unleash an Omega level threat on the streets!" Red Hood glances over to Enyo being held by the throat by Titan as she punches him in the face. "You okay, Enyo?"

"Don't I look okay?" Enyo says drily, struggling to break free from Titan's grip.

"Don't dare question my adoration for Jersey!" Black Mask glares at Red Hood. "I'm the one dedicated to use Titan to purge this city of all it's deplorables--" Black Mask snarls at him and sits upright, "--Starting with you two! Titan!" Black Mask smirks. Titan tosses Enyo at Red Hood, hitting and sending them crashing into a shelf, toppling it over.

"I have a...Plan." Red Hood says, groaning in pain. "Grand." Enyo says sarcastically. "Let's hope it works out better than, oh, every other plan you've tried since we met." Enyo sneers, getting off Red Hood. "I've been wailing on Black Mask just like you've been distracting Titan--".

"'Distracting'? I've been doing a hell of a lot more than--"

"Focus!" Red Hood hisses sharply, receiving a glare from Enyo. "The more we fight them, the more the techno-organic virus rages through Black Mask's brain." Red Hood points over to Black Mask being helped up by Titan. "You're saying we keep fighting until he burns to cinder?" Enyo sighs, looking at Black Mask. "I can get behind that." Enyo nods in approval.

"Maybe not a cinder." Red Hood sweat drops at Enyo. "But yeah, basically." Red Hood stands up next to Enyo and stretches his back, groaning from the tension in his muscles. "Ready?" Red Hood nods at Enyo, receiving a nod back. They both run towards their intended targets.

"Okay, but this time you take Titan and I take Black Mask."

"..."

"Relax. I'm joking."

"Sorry, Titan." Enyo says as she roundhouse kicks Titan in the face. "Red Her Not Seem Sorry." Titan says, stumbling back from the kick.

"You really didn't think this through, Black Mask." Red Hood says, blocking a punch from Black Mask. "How did you draw that conclusion?" Black Mask questions, dodging a right hook, but stumbles on his injured leg, losing his footing. "Your big mistake was believing your line of crap about you and me being so much alike. " Red Hood grabs his right forearm and uppercuts and elbows him in quick succession.

"Because unlike you I would never kill my mother!" Red Hood growls, holding Black Mask by his collar. "Which I Will...Never...Forgive!" Red Hood says menacingly. "As if I need your forgiveness--" Black Mask scoffs, then suddenly cries in pain, clutching on to his head. "Not feeling well?" Red Hood sneers, dropping Black Mask to the ground.

"no no no no no 00 01 10 01 00 01 01" Black Mask writhes in pain clawing at his head. "There we go," Red Hood chuckles darkly. Black Mask suddenly sits upright chanting incoherently."Please...Help...Must!" Black Mask pleads, crawling towards Red Hood. "Okay, now you're just freaking me out." Red Hood says warily, taking a step back.

Enyo dodges under a punch from Titan and uppercuts him. She dodges another punch and hits him with a haymaker. "He's burning up. Fight it Titan..." Enyo says, watching Titan suddenly clutching on to his head and grunting. "Me...Am...Trying!" Titan strains in effort trying to break the mind control. "Maybe this will help," Enyo punches Titan in the gut. "Maybe. But Mostly Just Hurts." Titan says, grunting in pain from the hit.

"⏁⊑⟒ ⏃⌰⌰ ⍜⎎ ⍜⋏⟒." Black Mask shouts, holding on to his head and swaying side to side. "No idea what that means." Red Hood says dumbly. "It means 'The All Of One.' The way the creature sees this world...so...different," Black Mask says blankly, "I can see...everything. Everywhere."

"God...This is giving me some major Déjà vu right now." Red Hood remarks. "How little my love of Jersey means in the great vastness of the cosmos." Black Mask. "I realize...Me Am Nothing." Black Mask looks at his hands numbly.

"Hacking your brain into a faulty Hulk clone was a bad thing, huh?" Red Hood chastises Black Mask. "Who would've thought?" Red Hood says rhetorically, tapping Black Mask on top of the head with his pistol.

"P-please you...can...you...can...save...me." Black Mask begs on his knees.

"...Why the fuck would I do that?" Red Hood says coldly, watching Black Mask topple over and start twitching and foaming out of the mouth. "Even if you sent me to the orphanage to protect me...or you're probably my only family I have left..." Red Hood aims his pistol at Black Mask. "...You still killed our mother."

"Please...can't kill me...you...don't...remember." Black Mask says weakly with his mouth foaming, his eyes rolling back and body twitching. "You're right. I don't remember her." Red Hood says softly, looking down and lowering his gun.

"Because you killed her and took away my chance to know her."

BLAM BLAM BLAM BLAM

Red Hood looks at Black Mask's dead body. "Goodbye, brother." Red Hood says softly. Red Hood gets a call and answers it.

"Hi Cat."

"Hi Red, I got the cure ready."

"No need...I got it handled."

"That's good...are you okay?"

"Sort of. I'll tell you when I get back to New York"

"Okay, see you then. Love you."

"Love you."

Red Hood ends the call and sighs tiredly and walks towards Enyo and Titan.

"This is going to hurt." Enyo winces, lying on the ground, covering her face and bracing for a punch from Titan. "Eh?" Enyo looks confused at Titan, stopping his attack and crouching down, dusting dirt off her shoulder. "Me, Am Sorry. Am You Okay?" Titan asks concerned, helping Enyo to her feet. "Of course I am okay. I am an Amazon, for Goddess' sake." Enyo says haughtily, "What was that all about?" Enyo asks, confused.

"Me, Am Not Sure. Bad Man In Titan's Head..." Titan shrugs and steps back as Enyo pushes him away from him. "...Then Poof! No More Bad." Titan scratches his head, confused. "Red Hood--What happened to Black Mask?" Enyo asks Red Hood as he stops in front of her. "He's no longer a problem." Red Hood says coldly.

"I am happy for you. But I'm angry at myself." Enyo says, following Red Hood to the hole in the wall. "All this nonsense has pulled me away from my real quest for the Bow Of Ra," Enyo says, irritated, and gestures around to the destruction. "I have to go." Enyo stops next to Red Hood with Titan on his other side.

"You don't have to do it on your own, Enyo. It's not like we don't owe you one, right?" Red Hood says, looking down at two men and one woman waiting for them by the pond. "This quest is about more than just honour...It is personal. I can't ask you to join me." Enyo shakes her head. "Titan Am Confused. We Am Not Joined Already?" Titan says, looking at Enyo sadly. "The Big Guy has a point." Red Hood says, chuckling at Titan's sad face.

"Fine. You can help. But then we go our separate ways." Enyo concedes, sighing, crossing her arms and frowning at Titan. "Absolutely" Red Hood nods. "Me, Am Certain That Will Happen. Heh." Titan chuckles drily. "Was that sarcasm?" Enyo asks, shocked. "Who knows?" Red Hood laughs and jumps down, landing a roll, and walks over to the three people with Enyo and Titan behind him.

"You three are still here?" Enyo asks, agitated that the three people didn't clear out. "Calm down, Enyo, they're friends. Sort of." Red Hood pacifies Enyo's agitation. "You know them?" Enyo asks, crossing her arms. "Well, not know them, but know of them." Red Hood corrects with a shrug.

"You know of us?" Coulson asks with a raised eyebrow. "Yes, Agent Phil Coulson." Red Hood nods at Coulson. "Agent Clint Barton aka Hawkeye." Red Hood nods towards Barton. "And, Natasha Romanoff. The infamous Black Widow."

"I'm guessing you're a fan," Natasha smirks. "Nope, my girlfriend is, though." Red Hood shakes his head and then sighs. "So what does the pirate want?" Red Hood looks at Coulson. "Pirate?" Enyo asks curiously. "Their boss has an eye patch." Red Hood gestures to his left eye. "You know, like a pirate." Red Hood shrugs, Enyo just nods and goes back to staring down the three agents.

"Straight to the point, I see. Our Boss wants to meet and discuss a proposition of sorts." Coulson says seriously. "Oh, yeah?" Red Hood says, wryly tilting his head. "Yes." Coulson nods, frowning. "Okay, tell Fury I'll meet him Friday, in New York. I'll send him the address a few minutes prior to the meeting time." Red Hood says sternly. "...Sounds reasonable. And..." Coulson nods and then glances warily at Titan and Enyo.

"Oh, don't worry about Titan. He's under my care and Enyo's a big girl. She can take care of herself." Red Hood says flippantly, receiving a glare from Enyo. "Anyway, if that is all. I have a lot of calls to make, so I'll see you Friday." Red Hood nods and walks back to Black Mask's building. "We could lend you a hand with the cleanup." Coulson offers kindly. "No thanks, I don't want any S.H.I.E.L.D agents anywhere near my newly acquired loot. You can have the building once I'm done taking what I need." Red Hood says, declining Coulson's offer.

"How generous of you," Clint says sarcastically. "I know, right?" Red Hood says, waving goodbye and ending the conversation.

"S.H.I.E.L.D? That sounds way better." Coulson nods in thought. "How do you think he knows so much about us?" Natasha inquires, following after Coulson to the car they came with. "The dudes on every single watch list there is, I'm not surprised he knows everything about us and S.H.I.E.L.D, and that he knows stuff even we don't know about." Clint shrugs glancing behind at Red Hood, Titan and Enyo disappearing into the building. "Even this whole Black Mask business." Clint sighs getting into the back seat of the car, with Natasha in the passenger seat and Coulson in the driver seat.

"Yeah, from what we gathered, it seems Black Mask was going to set the monster loose in Jersey City," Natasha says grimly. "We have to get Red Hood on our side, no matter what. Because right now he has a Hulking Monster and another Enhanced, excluding Black Cat and Apollo, added to his team of Outlaws." Coulson sighs, starting the car. "and if we can't..." Clint trails off, looking out the window. "Then we pray and hope he doesn't go rogue." Coulson drives off.
