The next day as I sat after homeroom, a soft hullabaloo could be heard in the hallway, the chatter of students coming closer, and along with it bringing another sound.
The clattering of windows and shuddering of doors as two heavy footsteps thumped down behind the door, with a slow drag across the floor, almost imperceptible to most others.
The door slid open with a thud, as the hulking figure of a man leaned in, striking a JK pose.
"I AM ....coming through the door like a normal person!" All Might announced, a light breeze accentuating his arrival, blowing our hair gently.
"Woah! It's All Might!" Kaminari said.
"He really is a teacher!" Kirishima said.
"That's the silver age costume isn't it?" Tsuyu commented.
"It's style is so different it's giving me goosebumps." Ojiro said.
"I teach hero basic training." All Might said as the class quieted down, flashing his signature smile.
"It is a subject where you train in the different ways to learn the basics of being a hero."
Heh! No shit sherlock. It's called hero basic training for a reason. I'm pretty sure he just memorized that description off of the course brochure.
Can't fault the man for trying though. Being a teacher isn't always the easiest job.
"You'll take the most units of this subject! Let's get right into it then. This is what we'll be doing today - Combat Training!" He said holding up a card that read 'Battle!'.
Bakugo, who had been in a bad mood all day from being reamed by me yesterday, suddenly piped up with excitement.
"Combat Training!" He muttered excitedly.
"And to go with that are these!" He said pointing at the wall, while pressing a button in his other hand secretly, as vertical crates slid out of it, each containing 5 suitcases.
"Costumes made based on your quirk registrations and requests you sent in before school started.
After you change, gather in Ground Beta." All Might said before leaving the room.
I picked our my case from the wall and put it on.
It was a vest suit piece with soft but tough fabric and inflatable inertiàl dampener lining across its key points, in case of emergency including a parachute in the accompanying explosion resistant, bulletproof, badass longcoat.
A gentleman spy's outfit complete with all the small gadgets and knick knacks that made up my repertoire.
Taser knuckles, button flashlights and a belt sword for good measure.
My boots weren't too special, just tough and steel capped for good kicking power.
As for Deku, he had on much the same outfit, sans the longcoat, instead going for a leather jacket, and holster for his throwing knives and smoke bombs, and a hadheld taser slash grappling hook.
A good choice for his puny frame.
With that, we arrived at the training ground, and Deku immediately left to simp for Uraraka, who, to be completely honest looked like a snacc in that outfit, like those old fashioned scifi models, with skintight bodysuits and unnecessary baubles.
She'd fit right in on the Enterprise looking like that.
Did they even have Star Trek in this world?
Something to find out later!
Looking around, I was astonished by the sheer good looks of the people around me.
I mean they looked good in uniform, but damn, do they cut a figure in the hero suits!
It's almost as if being good looking is a prerequisite to being a hero!
"So unfair~" I whined softly looking at my PS2 Hagrid looking ass in the watches reflection, as All Might walked us into the monitoring room, explaining the rules of the training.
"Everybody gather up! It's time for hero training!" All Might said.
"Sir!" Iida interrupted.
"Yes, Iida was it?"
"Since this is the battle station from the entrance exam, will we be conducting urban battles again?" Iida asked.
"No, we're going to move two steps ahead! Most of the time fighting villains happens outside, but looking at the numbers, atrocius villains appear inside at a greater rate." All Might explained.
"Hostages, house arrests, backdoor deals - in this society filled with heroes, truly intelligent villains hide in the shadows! So for today's training you're going to split up into 2 on 2 teams of heroes and villains in indoor battles."
"This is basic training?" Tsuyu asked.
"These are real battles to make you understand those very basics!" All Might clarified.
"However, the key this time is that there is no robot that you can just beat up."
"How will the wins and losses be determined?" Momo asked.
"Can we beat them up anyway?" Bakugo asked.
"Will the punishment be expulsion like with Aizawa-sensei?" Uraraka asked.
"How shall we be split up?" Iida asked.
"Isn't this cape crazy?" Aoyama asked.
"I'll answer all your questions!" He said, pulling out a script put of god knows where in that skintight spandex, as he read out.
"The situation is that the villains have hidden a nuclear weapon somewhere in their hideout. The heroes need to catch the villains or get the weapon in the alotted time. The villains have to either keep the weapon the whole time or defeat the heroes. The time limit is ten minutes!"
"The situation feels very american!" Someone said.
"The teams will be decided by drawing lots."
"The teams are decided so haphazardly?" Iida commented.
"Heroes often have to form makeshift teams with nearby agaencies to deal with villains!" Deku explained.
"I see the discernmemt to look ahead....Forgive my rudeness!" He said, bowing to All Might.
"It's fine. Lets do this quickly!" He said, pumping a fist into the air, causing a small tornado to form in the room, blowing dust into everyone's eyes, hiding the steam escaping his lips.
"Doing overtime again huh?" I whispered, by the side as he gave me a small nod.
"Lets change teams sizes then?" I suggested.
"Hmm.. that might work Yuji shounen. But I have a better idea." He replied, turning to the class, now rubbing their eyes, and coughing.
"Ahem! Listen up. That's not all! We will also have another scenario happening at the same time.
Villain Chase!
New information has been recieved just now that the villains are not alone and the bomb is just a distraction so that their friends can rob the bank! While the first hero team deals with the bomb threat, the second hero team will chase down the robbers and capture them before they leave the training ground!
The time limit is the same, and any hero or villain team failing their objective will reflect upon their contemporaries results! The clock is ticking!" He added, laughing out loud, doubling down on the pressure.
"What?!" Bakugo shouted, exasperated, "Why should my results depend on the failures of some extr-"
"Let's pick the teams!" All Might announced, ignoring the boy, and clapped his hands.
"Wait, sensei, what about the last team?" Shoto asked, raising his hand.
"They'll just do the bomb scenario." All Might answered, pushing the lotto box onto the table.
Once everyone had picked, we were assigned our teams.
Me and Ojiro as the chasers, Tsuyu and Momo as the bomb squad.
Opposing us, were Iida and Aoyama as the robbers, Mina and Bakugo as the terrorists.
While the villains set up shop, we gathered in the city centre and waiting for the signal to go.
"So.....I will be blunt. Do any of you know what to do?" Tsuyu asked.
"We should put together a plan, should we not? If we work together, we can clear the training without trouble." Momo suggested.
"Right!" Ojiro exclaimed, his tail, slapping on the ground with a satisfactory thud.
"Then, .... any ideas?" Tsuyu repeated, ribbiting after, almost out of habit.
Being the first teams, we were ushered into the scenario with little time to plan.
But I had a plan. I always have a plan!
