Reaching Out

A boy left all alone in the world after being abandoned by his mother in a poor clan that treated him harshly because he started showing signs of being different from other kids and the people around him. With him being ostracized more and more he became less and less of the cheerful young kid he use to be until eventually turning discreet and mute around others in hopes that they would stop being scared of him. Though that plan never worked out for him and, in the end he was left to strive on his own as best as he could in the environment he was left in. He explored the towns library and any books he could find in his Clan even if they were useless. Years on years of doing such things eventually led him into stumbling across a book that would help push him towards the thing he wanted the most. "The Basic Guide To The Astral Path" This book may not of been special to anyone in the long run but, it was to him because, it was his new beginning. With this new path available to him would he be able to push through all the obstacles and hardships waiting for him or in the end will he stumble and fall? Or will people be there to catch him if he does once again?

A Test For Two

Letting out a slightly heavy breath Xilo looked at the Metal Knights bodies on the ground after killing the last one. "Around the Fifth Stage It seems..." Analyzing their strength he kept mental note of it as he made his back to check on Felli and Tearia. The last Metal knight he fought before near the beginning was at the Third Stage meaning from there to here it had jumped quite a bit unless it was just an anomaly but if going by the case it was true then that could spell trouble for him up ahead. If he had to guess there was probably going to be different sections of this place just like other Astral Zones and if it went up to even something like seven sections then the enemies strength have potential to be around the Tenth Stage of strength and if that was the case he had no hope of beating one.

"I still struggle against people similar to my strength after all."

So wanting to fight someone that much stronger was just asking to die. "Well lets hope it doesn't go that far then." If the enemies he had fought just now stayed around this level and constantly attacked him he could probably improve significantly before the next section, which was his next goal after treasure. He had only reached the Fourth Stage himself recently and finally felt comfortable with it so now it was time to start working towards the Fifth Stage. "Too bad they were made of Metal." As much as he wanted to consume something new he couldn't if there was nothing he could actually eat.

"Eating Metal....sounds awful."

He didn't really know if it would work or not but he wasn't willing to try, he would rather just take his loss there if possible. "However does that mean all the Astral Beasts in here will be similar to those Knights or are their others?" It was a little too early to say but he assumed a vast majority of them would probably be different rankings of those ones with a few outliers amongst them. Those would be the ones he would have to specifically hunt if he wanted to consume something else again but finding them might not be easy. "I guess I need to get lucky." Arriving next to Felli and Tearia he checked them over quickly for wounds before feeling a weight off his shoulders seeing that were okay.

"Are you alright?"

"Why, worried about Tearia?"

With a slight smile she looked at Xilo try and form a response to that as she laughed to herself. "This is quite fun." She wasn't usually one to tease or mess with someone but with how much of a wall Xilo seemed sometimes it was quite fun causing cracks in that wall and the more she saw his reactions the more she liked it. "Plus It might break down the wall he created between the two of them." Which was the bigger reason she was doing all this. There was a giant metal wall between them that Xilo had built up and breaking that down wasn't an easy thing to do. So her only idea was to force her way through with Tearia in hand or so she hoped. It could all backfire on her and make things even worse between the time of them but she had to try.

Tearia was her friend after all and while they hadn't known each other for long yet her Grandfather had done a lot for her family so it was the least she could do in return besides she had taken quite a liking to the girl herself as well so she wanted her to be happy. Whenever they were exploring before that she seemed so depressed but once she saw her meet Xilo again everything changed. She watched her eyes light up as her world came to life again bringing her happiness along with it. "Loving someone huh." Thinking about how she had been all these past years she never had a chance to experience things like that.

Instead she was forced into her room to work all day ever since she gained the Astral Space Element and the times she went outside she had been attacked by people who wanted to kidnap her or kill her. She was forced into a situation where she had felt hopeless and without her Mother's protection she would have been dead many times over. "Yet here I am." For some reason her Mother had asked her to come here today for whatever reason to get something from here but when she asked her if she was coming as well her mother told her she had to do it herself and left without saying another word. "A test..." She figured her Mother was probably disappointed in her recent results and forced this onto her as a punishment along with a type of growth but honestly she had no idea.

"Why didn't he teach me anything." The few years she did get to spend time with her Grandfather while he was alive he never taught her a thing about how to make Space Storages or even how to use it properly even when she asked him. "He'd just say now's not the time and leave me alone." Leaving her frustrated and confused as she explored a power she didn't understand all on her own. Even on the day he died he never told her anything, he only smiled as he gave her a hug telling her good luck. "Why good luck..." She still had so many questions she wanted to ask him and time she wanted to spend with him and yet he left her. Unlike her mother she felt like he truly cared about her as family so after he was gone she felt lost in the world forced to obey her mother with no other option. "Mother used to be kind." However that was before the days she had Astral Space.

"Felli? Feelllliii?"

Waving his hand in front of her face he watched her zone out as a bit of concern flashed by him before she came to again.

"Sorry, what were you saying?"

"Nothing, are you alright?"

"Fine just got a little lost in thought."

"I see."

Staring at her hair that covered her face he tried to see past her words but he couldn't see anything. "Weird." Putting that in the back of his mind he ignored it for now as he spoke up again.

Enjoy.
