Reaching Out

A boy left all alone in the world after being abandoned by his mother in a poor clan that treated him harshly because he started showing signs of being different from other kids and the people around him. With him being ostracized more and more he became less and less of the cheerful young kid he use to be until eventually turning discreet and mute around others in hopes that they would stop being scared of him. Though that plan never worked out for him and, in the end he was left to strive on his own as best as he could in the environment he was left in. He explored the towns library and any books he could find in his Clan even if they were useless. Years on years of doing such things eventually led him into stumbling across a book that would help push him towards the thing he wanted the most. "The Basic Guide To The Astral Path" This book may not of been special to anyone in the long run but, it was to him because, it was his new beginning. With this new path available to him would he be able to push through all the obstacles and hardships waiting for him or in the end will he stumble and fall? Or will people be there to catch him if he does once again?

Stuck With Us

Feeling himself begin to fall, Xilo couldn't catch himself in time to stop his fall as a gust of wind bashed right into his skull pushing him back as he fell face first into the ice below. "Well that was stupid but I think I'm alright." Feeling his head start to ache as the cold ice touched his forehead he pushed himself off the ground making sure he didn't slip and fall this time around. "This is why I shouldn't just blindly try new things sometimes." Unfortunately it was a little too late for such a complaint as he felt another gust of wind coming at him as more creaking sounds of metal entered his ears.

"More of them?"

Looking up he saw another one turn the corner adding to the two already there as Astral Wind flew at him before he dodged to the side this time. "So many...why?" Was there really this many Astral Beasts in this place before or was it the fact that he was getting deeper into the Castle now that so many decided to appear before him. "Good." Instead of being afraid of the difficulty increase he embraced it as a smile crossed his face while ice started to swirl in his hands. "Since we're on the idea of trying new things I might as well continue so how about this." Moving forward a swirl of blue spun around his hands came to life as he moved towards the first Metal Knight in front of him with the sword that just broke free.

Watching its sword come down Xilo finished making an Ice Shield that wasn't like the ones he had before that were just flimsy chunks of ice that he would replace quickly. This one was a couple inches thick in the shape of a half triangle and square that resembled the ones he had seen on the walls along the way, It also had a few sharp areas sticking out of it that he used as a design to signify fangs. "For being somewhat rushed it doesn't look too bad. But I'll improve it later." Making objects that were beyond just simple things was still a bit of a challenge to him so being able to complete something that was slightly complex was a decent confidence booster regardless of the fact that he had been planning to make something like this for a while now.

Due to being Speed and Attack Path types his defense was significantly weaker than most peoples however his body made up for some of that slack with its toughness but eventually it wasn't going to cut it anymore like just now after he felt that wind hit him straight on. It dealt quite a bit of damage to him and he needed some more protection if he wanted to fight beyond just dodging everything because that wasn't always possible. So as much as he loved to rush in and attack recklessly he had to play it safe for the time being and now that his Astral ice had gotten stronger it was the perfect opportunity for some kind of defense.

"Maybe If I had this back with Xelfia..." Shaking off that what if he blocked the sword coming right for him as he moved in close without having to worry as he heard the satisfying sound of the sword clinking off his Ice Shield barely leaving a scratch as his Astral Dagger stabbed into the knights before he dragged it across its body trying to rip it into two. Within seconds he felt it struggle to escape his grasp but Xilo wasn't too worried of it living as he chased it before feeling his dagger meet no more resistance along with the sound of something crashing to the ground. Already looking away from it he moved on to the wind user that fired another shot at him while the other knight that recently showed up moved in on him but he ignored that one. For now he needed to deal with the ranged one while he could.

"Need any help?"

Hearing Felli's voice off in the distance enter his ears he didn't bother pausing as he stepped forward.

"There's no need, protect yourself."

He didn't even need to think about it, he knew he was in control of this situation for the most part and that everything would be fine unless something unexpected happened. With those two behind him his confidence and muscle memory was coming back to him rather smoothly compared to before. "What changed." Having that thought cross his mind for a second he stepped out of the way of an attack from the second close range Metal Knight as another bolt of wind came right for him that he blocked with his Shield causing another crack in it. "it's still holding up." Satisfied with its durability he started to slide forward to gain some momentum as his Astral Dagger glowed with excitement that he missed.

"Show off."

Standing with Tearia in her arms, Felli watched from a distance as Xilo slashed another knight into pieces before twirling around as his hair swept past his face along with some of his sweat. "All boys are like this." Rolling her eyes she let him handle it all by himself like he wanted to as she kept a watch in case people showed up. "They won't be so kind anymore." Most people in the beginning area wouldn't be at each other's throats but now that they were deeper in people lost that control and moral compass they had especially when it came to easy prey or treasure. Along with being hunted the three of them needed to be prepared for anything that could happen next which was also a reason she had been following Xilo regardless if he liked it or not. "We're better in numbers." She had explored places like this before and knew exactly what happened to people who went off by themselves and she didn't want to end up like them if she had a choice even if he hated it.

"You're stuck with the two of us for a while Xilo so get used to it."

She wouldn't take no for an answer and that was just something he would have to deal with, for all of their sakes. With that in mind she watched the last Metal Knight blocking their way fall to ground as Xilo wiped the sweat off his forehead
