The beginning

Kaji was the name of a baby boy that was born just a couple of days ago, the villagers were happily celebrating the birth of a new member of the tribe. The villagers would constantly congratulate the parents of the baby boy that was born. The father of the child was a man with black hair and blue eyes, he was a hunter that specialized in hunting animals, and collecting wild plants. The mother was a woman in her late thirties. She had bright pink hair that reached all the way down to her lower back. She would have her hair tied up into a ponytail or a bun most of the time, while her eyes were orange-colored.

As Kaji spent his time in this new world, he got used to his name, as his mother and father would call him with it every time he saw them. He didn't have a choice but to accept his new life. At first, he didn't know what to do, or how to react. But as time flowed he accepted reality as it was, and decided to live his life to the fullest this time.

He was happy to be loved by his parents, and as time continued to move forward, so did he. Kaji started listening to the stories his mother and father would tell him from time to time. And from these stories alone he realized that this world was far scarier than he thought it was. And only after a couple of months did he realize why he could choose so many skills and abilities, it was most likely because of how dangerous this world was.

While Kaji was peacefully laying in his crib, the door to the room he was in opened, and his parents entered the room, with an old-looking man. The man had gray hair and brown eyes. But soon the man looked at Kaji and smiled.

"So this is little Kaji, he seems so calm compared to other children who see me for the first time." The man said while smiling.

"Well, he's my son after all!" Said Kurai as he looked at his child.

"What are you talking about? He clearly takes after me." Hanami corrected her husband.

As the couple started bickering, the old man looked at Kaji with interest. He could tell that the boy was going to become strong in the future. He looked at the parents of the boy and couldn't help but sigh. Kaji, on the other hand, looked at the old man and examined him. The old man looked familiar for some reason, like he had seen him before.

"Stop bickering, what are you, children?" The old man asked the bickering couple.

Kurai and Hanami couldn't help but blush, as the elder looked at them, the two were embarrassed that they actually started arguing about who their child takes after. The two looked away as the old man continued to look at them.

"Sorry, chief." The two of them said in a low voice.

"Hanami, this is your first child, so make sure to ask other women who have had children before for help if you don't know what to do." The old man said while looking at the woman.

"And you, Kurai, make sure to hunt some more game this time around, after all, we should be preparing for winter, so make sure to hunt a little bit more, but not too much, understand? The old man continued.

He then looked toward Kaji and patted his head gently. "And you, grow up to be big and strong, not like your father." The man said with a chuckle.

"Hey, I'm strong!" Kurai shouted, making everyone else laugh.

After some more light-hearted chatter, the three of them left Kaji in the room alone the moment they saw him sleeping peacefully. Time continued to flow and Kaji would learn many things from his parents, some time Hanami would bring him outside, and introduce him to other members of the oni tribe, she would show him around before putting him back to sleep. And so Kaji would eat, and sleep most of the time, while sometimes his parents would tell him stories or take him outside for fresh air.

And when Kaji had free time when he wasn't sleeping or watched after, he would try to stand or speak. Both of these things for some reason were difficult to do in the beginning, but as time passed he would do better and better every time.

When Kaji was five months old, he could walk without holding onto anything, he felt like he had won some sort of award for walking. His parents were really happy seeing him walk by himself, most villagers were thinking that he must be a genius, after all, most children only started walking when they were nine months old or even older.

Kaji was happy he could walk properly now, but he needed to become stronger, after all, this is a fantasy world so there should be dangers all around. He wanted to grow up faster so he could train and become strong, after all his father would always say that the strong are always at the top of the food chain, so you must grow big, and strong.

Kaji was happy living his new life. He had a loving family, a village, and he was an oni, a powerful race of warriors and mages. In the past, the oni would fight monstrous beings bare-handed and would win, while protecting their land. Kaji would hear many stories of how the oni would fight or care for their own from his parents, and he took everything to heart.
