Possibility
Mia's body tensed as the foreign power surged through her, igniting her every nerve with a radiant energy. Her eyes blazed even brighter. The blue light intensifying as she gripped the metal rod.Erik watched in awe from a distance, don't know what to make of the transformation taking place in front of him. With a burst of energy Mia surged forward. She moved with such speed that it seemed as if she were flying. The giant wolf looked as if it was taken aback by her sudden aggression. It hesitated for a split second—a moment Mia take without wasting anytime.Erik's breath caught in his throat as he watched her leap high into the air, her body seeming to defy gravity. She came down with a powerful strike. The metal rod connecting with the wolf's skull with a resounding crack. The beast howled in pain, stumbling back as Mia landed effortlessly on her feet. Her movements become a blur. She danced around the wolf, delivering swift and powerful blows that left the creature disoriented and wounded.Erik could hardly believe his eyes; the timid and overwhelmed Mia from moments ago had transformed into a fierce and capable warrior. The wolf tried to retaliate. Its massive jaws snapping at Mia but she was too quick. She ducked and moved, avoiding the deadly fangs with ease. Her strikes landing with a force that seemed impossible for someone of her stature. As Erik watched the battle unfold, he realized that Mia didn't need his help. She was more than holding her own against the giant wolf, her newfound power giving her the upper hand."Maybe its the same power that goes through me while I fight the wolf earlier. She likely didn't realized what she was doing right now." Erik thought.Mia then vaulted over the wolf's back, landing behind it with a deftness that left Erik stunned. With a powerful swing she drove the metal rod into the base of the wolf's skull. The beast let out a pitiful whimper before collapsing to the ground.Mia breathing heavily while stood over the fallen creature. Her body glowing with the remnants of the mysterious energy. Erik approached her slowly. He could see the exhaustion etched on her face, the toll of the fight evident in her breath."Mia, you okay?" Erik asked.Mia turned to him, her eyes still shimmering, but the light was beginning to fade."I..." she said, her voice trembling slightly. "I don't know what happened, but I felt this incredible power..."Before she could finish her sentence her knees buckled beneath her. The glow around her dissipated. The energy that had fueled her extraordinary strength vanishing as quickly as it had appeared. She collapsed to the ground, her body going limp."Mia!" Erik shouted, rushing to her side.Fortunately, he caught her just before she hit the ground. Her eyes fluttered closed, and her breathing became shallow. The fierce warrior who had just taken down a giant wolf now looked fragile and vulnerable.Erik's heart pounded in his chest as he checked her over for any injuries. There were none visible, but the sheer exhaustion on her face told him she had pushed herself to the brink. He gently brushed a strand of hair from her face with mind that racing with worry."I need to get her to safety."With a deep breath, Erik lifted Mia into his arms, careful not to jostle her too much. He glanced around searching for a place where they could find shelter. The basement was no longer an option so he had to find somewhere safe for her to recover.Erik moved swiftly through the chaos and scanning the surroundings for a safe place to take shelter. The corridors were littered with debris and the sounds of distant howls echoed ominously through the air. There are a lot more wolfs than he had thought, and they all wreaking havoc in the city.He tightened his grip on Mia. Because she is unconscious she become a heavy but necessary burden. Fortunately, there's this syltrange power in his body now.He spotted a small room nearby with its door slightly open. With a cautious glance around, he nudged the door fully open with his foot and stepped inside. The room appeared to be an old storage closet, cluttered with forgotten supplies and dust-covered shelves. It wasn't ideal but it would have to do for now.Gently, Erik lowered Mia onto the floor, propping her up against a wall. He checked her pulse and breathing, relieved to find both steady. The energy that had surged through her had clearly taken its toll. Just like what happened to him earlier. The different is, there is no entity that lend their power to Mia.As he stood up, Erik took a moment to catch his breath. Theu couldn't stay here long; they needed a more secure location. But for now, Mia needed rest, and he needed to figure out his next move.Erik let his thoughts wander. The basement had seemed like the best option initially but the chaos of the attack had rendered it too dangerous. He needed to find Liam. If they could regroup, they stood a better chance of surviving whatever was happening."But where is he?" he muttered to himself, frustration and worry mingling in his voice.Erik's mind raced through the possibilities. Liam could be anywhere, hiding from the monstrous wolves or trying to find him and Mia.He glanced back at Mia, a thought began to form in his mind."If Mia and I have awakened some strange power, maybe Liam is experiencing it too."But it was only a possibility. Erik knew he couldn't rely solely on hope and speculation.Still, the idea lingered in his mind. If they were all awakening to some kind of power it could be a crucial advantage against the monstrous threats they faced. The chance's of Liam's survival will be higher of he still trapped outside like them.Erik recalled the dreams. Its possible that those dreams were more than just dreams. He got out of the room to find Liam."Liam... I hope you're okay," he whispered.---
