Queen of Ashes

Shen Xi sat down on the sofa reading a novel. Her short black hair was neatly tied and her large spectacles made her look a bit boring. The book she read was titled "Forever mine"

As she read further she fell asleep without knowing.

Ning Xi woke up in a dark alley only to see herself lying in a man's arm, being alert she struggled to get away but the man was way stronger than her.

She began to wonder how did she end up here? she was home before she fell asleep, so how did she suddenly end up in a man's arm? had she perhaps been kidnapped? she took another quick glance at her oppressor's face and realized that the man was extremely stunning, he was strikingly godly handsome. One might even mistake him to be a Greek god because he surely was not human with such refined looks. She shook her head immediately realizing what she was thinking about and then she struggled again but then to no avail.

"Trying to escape?", the godly man asked in an enchanting but deep voice, he had a smirk on his face.

"You...who are you?", Ning Xi trembled upon hearing how evident there was coldness in his voice, mustering up courage she asked in a cold voice.

"Shh, why so rude?", the mysterious man smirked and before she could respond the man pressed his lips against hers.

"Hmm...", NingXi was taken aback by surprise by this sudden cold yet passionate kiss.

The man held the back of her head as he kissed her fiercely until he realised the girl seemed to be having difficulty breathing before he stopped.

"Remember...", he paused after speaking and looked into the girl's confused eyes as he caressed her face," you are mine", after saying that he placed her down carefully and fled away in a blink of an eye before she could come back to her senses.

"Damn...", Ning Xi cursed as she touched her lips. She immediately remembered that she had to find out where she was, she stood up and cleaned off the dust on her dress before wandering about trying to find out where she was.

"Damn it, that guy didn't seem to have kidnapped me so why did he leave me here? and...if he didn't kidnap me then why did I end up here? I remember I fell asleep when reading that new novel titled," Forever mine", she walked about and murmured to herself.

"How dare that stranger steal a kiss from me? and he even fled after dumping me in who knows where.", she stomped her feet angrily and rested her hands on her waist.

"Sister..." a soft worried voice echoed behind her.

Ning Xi turned to look at the girl with a surprised expression, she had never had a sister, did this person mistake her for someone else? soon the girl who was about her age got closer to her gasping for breath.

"Sister...I...where were you?", the girl asked amidst gasping for breath.

"Sister? I am not your sister, you might have mistaken me for someone else", Ning Xi sized up the girl who stood before her.

"Sister are you still angry with me? is it because of Brother Han?", the girl asked as tears flowed down her face but Ning Xi didn't feel any sort of emotion for this girl.

"Look...I'm not your sister, I've never had a sister okay? maybe I just look like your sister and moreover I don't know who this brother Han is", Ning Xi replied coldly, she didn't know why but she just did not like everything about the girl before her.

"Ning Xi stop pretending! I'm Ning Rou your elder sister", the girl held her by the shoulders and shook her, it seemed she was running out of patience.

Ning Xi was quite surprised at the sudden change of emotions, wasn't this girl crying and looking so innocent just now? then how did the innocent girl suddenly turn vicious?

Then something dawned on her, did the girl just call her Ning Xi? but her name was Shen Xi and the girl also said she was Ning Rou.

This were the names of the characters in the book she was reading. Could it be that...no...no that was impossible, such things only existed in novels and movies.

Suddenly, Ning Rou who was holding her fell back to the floor with a loud thud, her fall from afar seemed like Ning Xi had deliberately pushed her.

"Sister you...you pushed me?" Ning Rou asked in a surprised tone as tears flowed down her face.

Ning Xi frowned, was something wrong with this lady? why was she acting all weird? she turned to leave when a strong arm grabbed her pulling her back.

"Ning Xi!!", a male voice called out furiously.

"Who are you?", Ning Xi asked as she scanned the middle-aged man who was looking at her with some hatred on his face.

*Slap...slap*

A loud slap sounded twice and the person who was slapped was Ning Xi, the middle-aged man had slapped her. Red blood dripped from the corner of her thin lips and she wiped it as a smile appeared on her face.

It seemed she knew what was going on, she had really transmigrated into the novel she was reading and she turned out to be the supporting character who would have a miserable life and if she was right, the girl right before her was her pretentious elder sister.

"How dare you push Ning Rou?", the middle-aged man roared loudly with anger after helping Ning Rou onto her feet. This man might be her wicked father Ning Shua.

"Father...sister...", Ning Rou held her father's arm as if to prevent him from hitting Ning Xi

"Sister didn't...do...it was not deliberate", she choked on her tears.

"RouRou, why are you always defending this stupid sister of yours? let me hit her and teach her a lesson"

"Father don't...she is...my sister and your daughter too", Ning Rou pretended to defend Ning Xi.

"Daughter? I have already abandoned this stupid daughter of mine, I don't have such a daughter, only you are my daughter"

"Are you two done?", Ning Xi leaned against the wall and asked the father duo daughter.

"You...", Ning Shua gritted his teeth when he noticed her arrogance.

"Sister you..." Ning Rou bit her lips and trembled as if afraid to speak.

"Don't ever call me your sister.", Ning Xi warned in disgust and turned to leave.

"Unfilial daughter!", Ning Shua yelled behind her but she pretended to not hear him and walked away.

Ning Xi sat under a tree in the middle of the night having no where to go and looked up to the stars, had she really transmigrated? she thought this thing did not exist but she was proved wrong. Then was she going to lead a miserable life as she had read? was she going to suffer? she would die? she asked herself many questions and her eyes welled up, tears threatening to fall.

She actually did not know how this story was going to end.

No! she stood up from under the tree and wiped her eyes, she could change her life, she was not going to act weak as the one she read about, she would make sure she made those people pay but in a way that she would not stain her hands with their blood.
